I'd much prefer a Fairfield, but there are no Fairfield's or Holiday Inns in Silverton less than an hour away. Therefore, when we visit our kids in Silverton, we are happy to pay $100 for a bedroom that doesn't require one of our grandchildren to sleep on the couch. I am grateful that these cabins now exist. They weren't here when our kids first moved to Silverton. The owners are friendly and helpful. We will be staying here on future trips to Silverton. It appears Silver Wind's main business is their RV Park. That is a valuable asset to the community whether their customers are Wind employees, Silverton citizens living in motor homes, or travelers passing through or visiting family in Silverton. The management was friendly and assured me that all were welcome and speaking Latin was not a requirement. The sites are flat, with new water, electrical, and sewer hook-ups. This is a great place for a stop-over. There are no common bathroom or shower facilities but you can't beat the price. Maybe some would like more trees and shade; I thought it was great -- De gustibus non est disputantum !

Children under 12 and veterans (after registering) are free. A loop road, constructed by the CCC in the 30's is a quick drive. Picnic areas dot the park and an ampitheater where shows are performed, and a coumter service restaurant are open in summer. A day pass is $8.00 and is good till 10:00PM (you can leave and come back). They give you a map as well. You can drive the whole thing and see a lot from your car. There's also plenty of pull-offs for picture opportunities. For ones that like hiking, there's plenty of that there. I'm not big into hiking, and I also didn't pack to do so. Lol. There is cave you see from the road, and if you want you can do a short hike to it. I wasn't on planning really hiking anywhere but this was short enough. Easy to get up, going down you have to be a lil careful. Good place for pictures too. Camping ground are available too.
