My stay at Yaqui Hideout was amazing from start to finish! Set on beautiful and peaceful land in Pearce, this place is the perfect escape for anyone looking to unwind, explore the high desert, and enjoy true Southern Arizona Hospitality. From the moment I arrived, Patrick and Bob, the hosts, made me feel right at home. They were warm, inviting, and always ready with helpful tips about the area. From local sights and restaurants to hidden bird watching gems. Their genuine kindness and personalized care turned a great trip into a memorable experience. The lodging was spotless, beautifully decorated, and super comfortable. We truly felt like we were staying in a little home away from home. One of the highlights in the morning was the incredible sweet loaf that Patrick baked fresh for guests, it was delicious and such a thoughtful touch that made our morning extra special. My husband and I stayed for three nights at this incredible hideaway in Pearce, and it was exactly what we needed. Conveniently located near Chiricahua National Monument, it was the perfect home base for exploring during the day and completely unplugging in the evenings. The hideout is tucked down a long dirt road and surrounded by tall cinder block walls -- you would never guess such a little gem is hidden there. Once inside, it feels peaceful, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. Our room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and stocked with so many amenities -- toiletries, coffee, snacks, and a continental breakfast that Patrick freshly baked. Everything felt intentional and generous. We also had the opportunity to enjoy a terrific introduction to basket weaving with Bob, which made the stay even more special and memorable. The property is a working hobby farm with sheep, chickens, donkeys, cats, and attentive farm dogs who lovingly keep an eye on the hideout. It adds so much charm and authenticity. Patrick and Bob truly went above and beyond to welcome us and share recommendations for places to visit. As two people coming from busy corporate jobs, this stay gave us the chance to breathe, slow down, and reconnect. We left feeling rested, inspired, and already planning our return. read more

My partner Lily and I stayed at Yaqui Hideout in Feb 2026. It is truly a gem. Patrick and Bob are wonderful hosts who care about their guests, and we were taken aback by their generosity. Our room was comfortable and made to feel like home. There is much to explore nearby (Chiricahua, Whitewater Draw, etc.) and indeed at the farm itself - sheep, donkeys, friendly dogs & cats, and even a pair of great horned owls! We also loved getting a tour of Bob's weaving workshop. Hands down, we would return and I recommend Yaqui Hideout to anyone without hesitation! read more

What a fantastic find! The perfect place to rest your mind body and soul. Impeccably clean and comfortable rooms with a frig stocked with snacks and beverages. The home baked scones and muffins are to die for.The hosts clearly love the farm, the animals and doing exactly what they do - Which is making sure you enjoy your stay. Immediately upon arrival and throughout your stay,you are made to feel welcome and at home. A perfect place to call home while you hike,birdwatch and explore the extraordinary natural beauty of S.E. This is really a hidden gem in the heart of Wilcox wine country. The proprietors, Bob and Patrick, are warm and welcoming characters and Bob is a gifted artist who weaves incredible and colorful wicker baskets of all shapes. I'm not normally into the textile and fiber arts, but even to me his creations are truly inspired and beautiful. He's always happy to give a tour of his studio and work. The location was once an actual fortress. You'll have to ask about its very colorful prior history. Now it has been transformed into an oasis of quiet sunny gardens and elegant solace in a very picturesque countryside setting. There are 3 comfortable, fully self contained and private guest rooms, each having individual entrances and each their own relaxing outdoor deck sitting area. There's also a large shaded pergola area with barbecue for outdoor entertainment. They really go out of their way be accommodating and to make this country inn top notch. The facility is very pet friendly as are the hosts, but I was told one room has been permanently reserved as pet free for those guests with allergies. My dog absolutely fell in love with the spacious outdoor setting and even more with Bob and Patrick and didn't want to leave. The property is a full 50 acres, with 4 acres contained within the secluded fortress walls. Patrick has started raising market sheep on the property and the adjacent ranch raises dairy goats, so ask to see the flock on a real working ranch! With the elaborate ranch facilities, pens and covered stalls still remaining within the fortress walls, I could easily imagine someone with horses staying and riding on the property. My wife has stayed here many times and raves about it. Now I know why and I too will be back. read more

Patrick's response to my review is WRONG in every way. He never addressed the saggy mattress, dirt everywhere, no grass, irritating barking dogs, dusty bed frames, dirty carpeting/area rugs, etc., etc., etc. We were his highly paying customers at $120/night + tax which the cost should have been a lot less for what we had to endure! The plants should have been properly cut back to make them look clean & pleasant to view, and all the areas outside the rooms should have been swept and raked! I didn't say your BnB was a 5 star. Other people gave your place 5 stars which perplexed me & the only reason we chose this place; however, it only rates a 1 star. I can only surmise that their homes are in the same condition and they are fine with that. Another item of irritation was that we had to park OUTSIDE the secured compound leaving our vehicles vulnerable. Buyers BEWARE! Save your money & aggravation. read more
