We started bringing our firstborn in before she turned one, and from the very beginning, we were so thankful to have found this practice. Dr. Phan is thorough, kind, and direct. He makes both me and my husband laugh, and he always makes us feel heard and validated. He listens attentively to our concerns, provides sound, evidence-based advice, and truly demonstrates compassion and care with every visit. I just had our second baby on May 15. I was able to get an appointment scheduled the very next day (a Friday) for the following Monday morning. At that visit, we learned that our baby had lost 12% of her birth weight. This exact thing happened with our first, and our old pediatrician handled it terribly--immediately mentioning "failure to thrive" and making us feel panicked and inadequate. So this time, as Dr. Phan was gently walking me through the next steps, I started crying. But instead of jumping straight to suggesting formula, he encouraged me to take care of myself first and to pump to see what my output was. To my surprise, I was producing plenty of milk. That encouragement lit a fire in me--and by that Friday, our baby girl was already back to her birth weight. I am endlessly grateful for Dr. Phan. He was encouraging, compassionate, and honest throughout the process. Most importantly, he reassured me that he wasn't concerned about our baby's health, which gave me an incredible sense of peace. His calm confidence was the complete opposite of the fear and guilt we were met with from our previous pediatrician. Nurse Practitioner Ms. Shayla is also absolutely lovely--and our toddler adores her. For a while, our daughter was terrified of doctor visits, but Ms. Shayla completely changed that. She made her feel safe and comfortable, to the point where our daughter now chats her ear off the moment she walks in the room. Ms. Shayla has been a true gift in building trust and warmth around medical care for our little one. The front office and nursing staff are incredible as well. They are helpful, kind, patient, and consistently accommodating--especially when something urgent comes up. We always feel supported, never dismissed or rushed. Honestly, we never want to leave this area solely because of this practice. If we ever move, we're already prepared to make the drive back just to keep Dr. Phan and his team in our lives. To make a long story short, my vaccines are covered by my insurance contract as preventative care. The billing department is relentlessly billing me because of a miscommunication over a clerical issue between them and the medical group. The medical group is stating they will not pay the claim because the doctor's office didn't submit the claim on time. And both parties cannot seem to get to the bottom of it. The medical group is saying the doctor's office is lying to me, the doctor's office is saying the medical group is lying to me. It's impossible to make sense of and my insurance and the medical group has informed me this is a cost the doctor's office should assume due to an error on their end. The doctor's office is stating "you signed paperwork, so too bad you need to pay," which basically communicates - if we don't do our job properly or cannot provide proof that we did our job properly, too bad pay up....even though I pay monthly for insurance and the services and vaccines provided are FULLY COVERED under my contract. Ericka in billing is TERRIBLE. Her customer service is ridiculous. A representative at both anthem AND prospect medical group were yelled at on the phone and had to send her to an escalation call. When I spoke to her to try to get to the bottom of it, she raised her voice, started getting emotional, and lost all semblance of professionalism, stating "she was just speaking to me the way she was being spoken to." Of course I am frustrated, atigas office is getting me involved in a "he said she said" scenario with a medical group, neither party can prove what is happening, I cannot speak with a level headed individual at their office, and the situation is a MESS. When I told her I'd likely have to switch to another doctor due to these persisting issues she said "at this point we are happy to see you go!" We will likely have to file a claim with a regulatory board. Dr. Atiga, if you read this, please consider who you hire to represent your office. Problems cannot be solved when your billing department refuses to remain calm and professional, and I should not be stuck with a bill due to an in office mistake. It's unfair, I will be switching providers because your office staff is impossible to deal with.

The staff is new & unorganized as well as very slow, the books are no longer in the waiting room, they have an automated phone system that takes annoying long to get through to an actual front desk person & the nurse practitioner (Angela, I think) was so extremely pushy on my daughter getting two vaccines.
