Went to have it delivered and they wouldn't dump it in the same location as the previous year(most convenient location, easy to back into, less work). We cancelled the order after they refused to dump as you can see in the photo dry level ground easily could have dumped in front of the fence like previous year and they charged us $60 to deliver. read more

Called today to get some ideas for my back yard, which has a few challenges. They transferred me to their landscaping dept. I asked a total of three questions and was told after each one that, "you just need come in and look around." When I pointed out that I have no background in landscaping and I wanted to narrow down my search before I came in, she could not care less and repeated the same unhelpful remark. Our favorite Garden Land. We drive 15ish minutes and it's worth it every time. Great indoor selection which is why we prioritize this over others, but expect the outdoor selection to be just as good. Almost everything for our garden is from here. A chill, inviting, peaceful environment. I love that I can just browse without being approached by salespeople. First, I have been buying from Yard and Garden before Winco was a dream! It is now 2025 and i have spent over 300 dollars there recently But NO MORE!. Most of what I have purchased died! Last time I was there , a gentleman was replacing plants his wife purchased, that died. This is also true for me. Shame on me . I have complained on Facebook and the email they provide! NOTHING! Yard and Garden Land is selling garbage they no longer stand behind. Please do not give them a dime! Just IMO as a no longer customer, They never reply as they are just too good. Please, if you buy from them , and the plants do not survive, take them back! They need to eat it! I was walking around for more than an hour looking at trees, shrubs, ground covering, etc. I was the only customer in the entire place and I have a whole yard to landscape and a drawn out plan. Passed more than 7 employees and not a single one offered to help me find anything. In fact, they avoided eye contact so they wouldn't have to help me. Every single one of them! I was flatly denied, without any consideration of an exchange for something that would work better for me. Went there to get some soil and gravel. Met with a rude bucket loader. Then they mistakenly sold me something they didnt have, instead of making it right by loading up their next mix ($11 more) they wanted me refund and recharge. Wasted both our employees time after this when it couldve all been solved through better training. They talk about pleasurable experience on the phone. Far from it. I support mom and pop stores. Great selection of both indoor and outdoor gardening supplies, decor, plants and everything else you need. They have a lot of pretty macrame inside and a ton of cute pots and vases and things. As it gets close to summer the selection of trees/bushes, flowers and veggies continues to grow. I have never been unable to find what I needed as far as plants are concerned. They have individual flower plants and many varieties also come in a little 6 pack tray as well. The value is pretty great in my opinion. I would look here for a fun Mother's Day gift! They have a little chicken coop with chickens which are so fun. We also saw an old kitty roaming around that was just so sweet :) I did have a few interactions with employees some were pretty nice one lady seemed really annoyed by me asking a question which made me feel kind of bad. I'm definitely not an experienced gardener so maybe I was asking a dumb question but she could have been friendlier about it. Other than that people were willing to point me in directions and the checkout process was quick and easy. Social distancing was practiced fairly well and everyone had masks on. The parking situation was plentiful and the store was easy to navigate and well spaced out. They have a decent selection of indoor and outdoor plants. Native plant section is pretty limited. I was disappointed with my recent visit as I wanted to buy some holiday decor that was out on the floor and they told me that the area was off limits (no signs indicating this) and would not sell me the decor I wanted. I went to Yard 'n Garden Land at one of the busiest times possible - sunny Saturday morning before Mother's Day. Parking lots were full. People were everywhere. Yet the employees seemed to be able to make meaningful contact with every customer. I was able to get my questions answered and find the perfect additions for my yard. I needed some help loading my truck. Not only did I get help loading it, one of the employees also did some traffic control in the parking lot so I could easily and safely back-in for loading. Don't let the view from Highway 99 trick you into thinking this is a small place. I did for years! It is a large, beautiful garden center with gorgeous, healthy trees, shrubs, flowers & more, with knowledgeable and helpful staff. read more

I just bought three hanging baskets of Calibrachoa Bumble Bee Blue and Bumble Bee Orange on Saturday and put them on my patio when I got home. Not 10 minutes later, there was a humming bird making itself comfortable in the bright orange trumpet blossoms. Mission accomplished! Thank you Yard N' Garden Land! They almost always have what I want here, and if one employee doesn't know something, there is another one who does. The prices for decor are a bit steep, but the plants seem to be priced on par with other places in the area. This is my go-to nursery! read more

I prefer the quality of mulch, 4-way mix and compost sold at Yard N Garden over other options available in our area. They are always in stock and their customer service unsurpassed. I was there early Saturday morning for a 2 yard load of 4-way mix in my trailer. After dumping the mix into my trailer, I noticed that one of the trailer tires was flat. Argh! There were two YnG employees nearby whom I asked is they could help me. Without hesitation, they agreed, charged their compressor and came to my rescue filling the tire. Huge thank you! read more

Our last time shopping at YnG was 4 years ago. Why did we stop? Unfriendly and blatantly rude checkout staff member. We are currently in need for a few trees. Very hesitant but could not talk my husband into going elsewhere because we needed to match the same variety we purchased there years ago. So here we go again...our bad. Three garden area employees (one of which was gnawing on a candy bar), no greeting, had to pull teeth to get any kind of information...we asked a lot of questions but little did he know that we knew a lot about the trees we had in mind. Offered to show us where the trees were located, but body language and demeanor spoke 'I really don't want to'. Interaction, or lack thereof, ended with him turning away from us to offer his candy bar to his fellow employee. We guess he was done with us. Reading those positive service reviews is truly a head scratcher. Are there specific days and times when your employees are friendly, respectful and know the definition of customer service? If so, YnG PLEASE advertise those days so future customers know when to shop! read more

Do not call them. Do not email them. You will be ignored. I e-mailed 5 times asking if they had certain plants in stock. No answer. They answered the phone when I called but, when I asked about the plants, I was put on hold forever. This may all come down to one person, I'm not sure but, it is a red flag for me. If a company ignores customers prior to purchasing what would happen if they need help after they purchase. Reading through the reviews here, I see my experience is not unique. There are plenty of other nurseries with good customer service. I am done wasting time with this one. read more

We have always gotten good service at Yard n Garden, but 2 days ago we purchased 5 yds of raised bed soil & 1 yd of compost that our raised bed installer went to pick up today. He was told they were out of compost & only had "super compost" that he could purchase. He said they were very rude to him & weren't going to make it right by just offering the super stuff. It was more a matter of principle & good customer service. Now we have to go back to get a refund on the compost we were charged for but didn't get. read more

I really wanted to like this place, so close to my house and a local business! The first time I went in I had to track down an unenthusiastic employee (it was like you could feel the *ugh don't ask me where anything is* and eye rolling..) to try to help me find the plant I was looking for. I figured everyone has their off days, and thought it was weird that I couldn't find any staff without having to walk through indoor and outdoor areas looking for one. It was a little pricy but I figured I was supporting a local business. I returned again looking for a blueberry bush, and had the exact same experience. I saw a 2010 review that says there's always people available. Must have been before the economy tanked because I couldn't find anyone, yet again. I finally spotted 2 employees socializing (they had aprons, I think they were employed there), they saw me but didn't say anything. I picked up a couple other items and continued to look, I found a free employee who didn't seem to know much more than what I had been able to discern myself from reading their signs. I ended up leaving the cart of items there and going out to the large Woodland Nursery to buy over $100 in bushes and bulbs. Their customer service was significantly better, and pricing was worth it. I really wanted to like this place but the customer service was severely lacking both times I went in. They have a nice set up but it's not worth my time to have to fumble around for an hour trying to find an employee, let alone one that doesn't make me feel like taking my hard earned cash is too much of a hassle. The cashiers were nice, and the layout is really open, which are the only reasons I didn't give them 1 star. read more

This store is amazing. They always have something I want. The variety is amazing and the employees are very helpful. It gets really busy and you may have to wait your turn to get expert help, but it is worth it. The store inside also has so many unique and fun items. In the spring and summer I go at least once a week to see what's new. They also sell Christmas Trees. They do a lovely job of flocking. read more

I like Yard 'n' Garden Land a lot. I mostly buy veggies for my garden and they usually have a wide selection of plants here. Their herbs and vegetable plants to seem somewhat high priced at around $3 per pot with typically only one to three plants in each one, but sometimes they have really good sales. I do find myself shopping around other garden centers to get all the various plants I need. They carry diatomaceous earth which is my go to insect repellant. No other place in the area sells it that I know of. I got a 4 pound bag for $15. They also sell air plants for $4-5 dollars. read more

If you know what you want then you'll do fine at the yard and Garden on Mill Plain in Vancouver Washington. I was ignored, plus they even saw that I was disabled, and when I asked which desk was the checkout desk and they replied with a snarky attitude. Oh and I did have to ask 3 times because they were busy yapping or should I say gossiping. One of my favorite nurseries until Monday. After reading the COVID-19 instructions on their website for shopping we were impressed they were taking it seriously. Not so when we got there. None of the staff working inside were wearing face masks. And in the semi-covered nursery area the person at the information booth wasn't either and there was no protective shield (at least the shields were at the checkout) there either. As usual the staff was helpful though but I think I'll take a pass on Yard 'n Garden for a while and check out Shorty's. read more

I called them today looking for a variegated monstera and spoke to a female associate or possibly the owner because another local nursery recomended them. These plants are gorgeous and costly and rare and i was excited to get one! Well, the female who answered asked the name of the plant and when I said variegated monstera she said I must be mistaken because that plant name is wrong I then told her that I had spoken to a few nurseries who recognized that name so maybe were misunderstanding each other to which she rudely said "do they have them?" I said "yes I found one place....." and before I could finish the sentence she very rudely said "then buy it there" and hung up. It's a $200-$300 plant and I will never give my business to people who are this rude. I don't care if you're a small business or a big box store Customer service is important and you have got to treat people better than that. read more

My husband and I went to Yard and Garden today to look for trees that would meet our small-space criteria. The first person we approached told us where to look, but she did not offer to help. Then along came Philip, who greeted us with a smile and asked if we needed help. He spent time with us, offered suggestions, and showed us the trees. I have been a customer for years. Today they delivered what was supposed to be super compost but it is the highest price fill dirt I have ever paid for. I've ordered for the last several years and always received what I had ordered and paid for and been very impressed with the quality This is the last time. It's a huge rip off this year and they had to be aware of what they are passing along as super compost. read more

There are one or two friendly staff members, but by and large we keep encountering staff who are downright condescending and rude with customers. In addition, we tried to buy some big ticket items (the largest trees they sell) and struggled to find a healthy one with a good, balanced shape. They're the closest nursery to our home, but we're taking our business elsewhere. read more

I have bought many arborvitae & yard plants here in the past, NOT any more! I pulled in the side yard with my pick up truck & moved around a semi blocking the side main yard entrance. Obviously the yard kid did not like my 20 foot truck move & he started blowing a tractor horn constantly towards me. I got out of my truck to find out what his problem was & he yells something I sure could not understand or comprehend. I decided I can shop else where & drove over to the unfriendly/snooty cashers to find out what the problem is. They were quiet 4 a long time & then one finally asked me what size I wanted. I nicely explained I want 2 pick out my own arborvitae & was told I must walk way out back. I explained walking that far was not a option, as I have a handicap sticker because of limited walking ability. Both register attendants did not offer any assistance in any manner & again got very quiet. I had on my army hat & said, I got drafted & served for them to be stupid. There isn't any service here since this place was bought out by a large company. I will now shop smaller local nurseries that give good customer service for a fair price. I will inform all my friends & neighbors to shop where the store tries to be polite & a least act like they want your business $$$$$$$$$! read more
