I had my driveway done by RI Paveway in October of 2024 for approximately $5,000. It is barely a…read moreyear later and the driveway is starting to peel up in a number of places due to normal usage. I have been in contact with RI Paveway since July to figure out a remedy. They had told me that sealcoating would cover up the spots, but this fix was going to be an additional cost because they contract out their seal coating. I was not happy, but I agreed to the idea initially. Due to the delay in responses from their office, the sealcoating was going to have to wait until the spring to be done. Once I discovered that I had to wait another six months to get my brand new, $5,000 driveway fixed, I was done with RI Paveway. They attributed the damage to cars turning their wheels on the driveway. They recommended that I baby the driveway, disallow any delivery drivers from using it, and be mindful of parking on it during hot weather for the NEXT THREE YEARS! I did not pay for a driveway that can only be used on certain days by certain people. I highly recommend using one of the other highly rated paving companies in the area. I would not do business with this company ever again in the future. In response to the owner's remarks: Hi Audrey, I would like to thank you for responding to my review on a Saturday night as well, if only all your communication was that prompt and efficient. I understand there are always, at minimum, two sides to a story, so I would also like to add clarification and facts. You are correct when you said you called within one minute of my first email. However, during that phone call, no time was set up for you to look at the driveway. It took two additional emails and four more weeks for the company to come out and look at my complaint. Additionally, at the time of my complaint, there was not five consecutive days of 90-degree weather. That Sunday it was 75 degrees, so please, if you are going to add "facts," please ensure they are factual. I've included a screenshot of that week's weather just for you. You are correct when you reference me calling my fiancé "the culprit," but I have to assume you missed my sarcasm. I won't argue about the details about how fast she "flew" into the driveway with your entire family standing in the driveway or how you can remember the exact spot she turned because it is irrelevant. I do find it interesting that you consider a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu, a midsize sedan weighing approximately 3,000 pounds, a "heavy tire." I hope potential customers see that so they are fully aware of what type of vehicles can be parked on their new driveway. It must be limited to bicycles, tricycles, and motorbikes. Finally, I never said that you told me not to use the driveway for three years. I stated you told me to baby it for three years in hot weather. Maybe I misunderstood, but this is verbatim from your last email, "when asphalt is not fully cured which can take upwards of 3 years it heats up especially when we have a couple of days of 90 degree weather consecutively. At that point, the binder that holds the aggregate becomes tacky and soft, making it easier for heavy tires (especially from parked vehicles or turning wheels or heavy delivery trucks) to leave impressions or scuff marks. My suggestion to baby the driveway was for these hotter months and that was just a suggestion to prevent any further cosmetic damage..." I am not a smart man, but that reads to me like you telling me not to use the driveway on hot days for the next three years. I also find it difficult to stop delivery drivers from using my driveway as I have to work for a living and cannot consistently monitor my driveway's traffic. I sincerely hope the cosmetic flaws that I paid $5,000 for do slowly fade away. I also hope that your "timely, comprehensive, and reasonable" communication truly becomes timely, comprehensive, and reasonable in the coming years. To fix it , I said no way it's under warranty you have to fix it, after that it all began with the lies to get out of repairing it by saying he went out of business when I told him he was a liar he said he was going through a bad divorce and he was filing for chapter 11 all of these lies to get out of doing what he promised to fix and the worst of it I had someone call to get a price for a driveway and they said when would like it done, how's that for someone who is out of business. They are due 9/19/25 to come back with a complete new driveway, no charge! We will see. I will post update. Update, successful resolution. The sons were honest and apologetic about the delays. Completed sink hole remedy, down the road well see how it holds up. Offered to return at no charge if needed. Give them a shot, appears sons have taken over operations.
