I had a nice, filling lunch at this restaurant. It's casual and works well for dining alone. The sweet tamale is ok. The sweet cream with it was more like sour cream. The nopal, bean, and cheese pupusa was good, and I'm glad to see multiple vegetarian options on the menu. The staff was nice.

I love this place! I always go after getting my nails done next door. It's very flavorful and they serve good portions. The staff is super friendly everytime, the restaurant is super clean, and the food is always made to order.

I visited with a couple of my friends to try out the pupusas together. We've had pupusas elsewhere and were hoping this place would not disappoint. The staff was patient, friendly, and helpful. The food didn't take very long at all, but that could be because there was only one other party of guests there - although other pupusa places have taken much longer to prepare the food regardless. We ordered a variety of pupusas and they were all made fresh to order with creamy melted cheese oozing out as we cut into them - way more cheese than normal and very delicious. They all had different flavors based on the filling and were all delicious, but we really enjoyed the rajas (poblanos) and zucchini the most. The plantains were nice and soft and delicious and the masa in the corn tamale was amazingly soft and moist, but the crema they brought with it was not sweet at all - which didn't take away from it at all, but it said it would be sweet. The tomato soup on the side was nice and spicy and running, easily poured onto the pupusas as desired, and the cabbage was refreshing and perfect. Overall it was a delicious meal and we will be back for more! read more

Honest opinion this place is decent. For a Salvadoran like myself and going to a Salvi restaurant not have agua fresca de ensalada, not serving horchata, having bland curtido, and bland salasa is crazy. The pupusas themselves were decent, it should be noted that some of the flavor profile picked up in each bite had a little of an off putting taste. Couldn't identify what it was. I think for me a Salvador restaurant just has to have certain amenities /staples, and that wasn't me here. I'm not here just a bash or make or restaurant look bad. Their fried bananas (platanos frito) and fried tamale (though I asked for a steam tamale) were delightful. Their pupusas were also stuffed which is what I love in a Pupusa. Server was sweet and was smiling the entire. Hope the business continues to thrive and wish them the best of luck. read more

The pupusas we tried were absolutely delicious--hands down the best pupusas we've had in Albuquerque! Our favorite was the portobello and cheese, but the chicken & cheese, and asada, bean, green chile & cheese were fantastic too. The fried plátanos were also amazing--perfectly crisp on the outside and sweet on the inside. Definitely worth the stop! We'll absolutely be back! We ordered to-go -- it was easy and cashier was friendly. read more

I'm actually flabbergasted at the previous reviews! My husband is Salvadorian and we were excited to try this place but I don't think I've had worse pupusas. Like I've tried pupusas from the frozen food aisle that tasted better. The lemonade was garbage and so was the Jamaica. I also didn't think you could mess up curtido but it was not a hit. My toddler loves pupusas, even she took one bite and refused to eat more. The fries were the best part. We were starving so we gave it a try and it was very disappointing. The crema tasted funky but atleast the pupusas were stuffed they just weren't tasty. Service was mediocre at best. We definitely do not recommend this place. Sorry not sorry. read more

Wow, this is an amazing food truck and a true gem in ABQ! The pupusas are amazing, and they have a great selection for vegetarians. I can't believe how cheap the food is...and I mean cost, not ingredients or preparation. I can afford to eat a big lunch and get extra for leftovers. I'm a huge fan of Yarling's since I stumbled across them. The pupusas go great with a Cerveza from Marble or your favorite brew at La Cumbre. read more

Passing through on our way to Colorado from California and stopped to have pupusas and some carne asada tacos and they were one of the best pupusas I've tasted. The tacos also were really delicious. The sauce the tacos come with is amazing. read more

Food wagon makes great tacos. Pupusas will be my next meal. I found them outside of Marble Brewing on a Friday afternoon. Service is quick and they give you a buzzer to take inside to get started on a beer. Good food for a good price. read more

We walked in and started reading the menu and chatting with the man at the counter. He helped us pick out *five* vegetarian pupusas. Pretty good start! We ordered the calabacitas and cheese, the green chile and cheese, the loroco and cheese, the spinach and cheese, and the bean. Then the guy was surprised we wanted to eat there - guess you only order at the counter for to-go. We also inquired about the aguas frescas, and upon being assured that they were not that sweet, ordered a tamarindo and a melon. We grabbed a small table under the TV playing cumbia and other Salvadoran music videos. There were several other folks in the place so we got to look at some of the other offerings, including huge bowls of menudo and possibly even huger tortas. Our pupusas came fairly quickly for pupusas (some places will advise you that they can take 15-20 minutes) and came with two sides: a bowl of a very thin but flavorful salsa, and a mound of red cabbage slaw that reminded me just a bit of a pickled situation. Two of us were able to eat the 5 together, although 4 would have probably been enough. But now we've tried them all. The green chile and cheese was my favorite; the calabacitas was also good. The bean would be better with cheese; I might try to eat it with a cheesy one in the future. Also, the aguas frescas were aMAzing. Definitely the best ones that I have had in Albuquerque, and possibly the best outside of Mexico. Just a delight! The only knock on this place is that they close at 6pm every day, so if you want them for dinner you'll have to get takeout the last hour they are open. They do have several breakfast-y options though, so maybe the next time we visit (and I definitely want to go back!) we'll make it a brunch thing.

Gobble This had only one chef and one server, which meant that we had to wait 40 minutes for our food even though the restaurant was not crowded. If you are a restaurant in a major tourist area on a weekend, you cannot have just one chef and server for your guests. I got the chicken tacos, which were fine. However, they were not worth the high cost ($25) or the long wait. My wife got a pupusa platter with rice and beans, which cost $20. It came with one medium-sized pupusa and a small amount of rice and beans. This exact dish would cost less than half that amount in a big city. Even accounting for the tourist area higher costs, this was outrageous. There is far better Latin American and New Mexican cuisine in Albuquerque with better portions at more affordable prices; I would go elsewhere for that experience.

Good balance of tuna, celery, and bread ratio, but I didn't dig the olives in it. There's a mini kale salad that comes with entrees, and it was healthy and palatable for kale. We did end up balancing that green with the pistachio cruffin and pistachio chocolate chip cookie. Would definitely go back for the cruffin with its flaky layers and luscious pastry cream. Cookie was less impressive but still worth the impulse buy. Indoor and breezy outdoor seating available. Highly recommend!

As I walked in, the space was large and a very nice young woman greeted me at the counter. I looked over the menu and immediately saw the monte cristo sandwich. She immediately informed me it wasn't traditional meaning it wasn't fried and was on a croissant. I added a scrambled egg. When she asked what I wanted to drink, I chose the homemade chai with oat milk. It was a little cold in there so I asked for it hot. She offered me water which was self serve. I sat down where I could see the decor. She brought out my chai, nice foam on top. It was delicious and not too sweet. My sandwich came out and it was a nice size and they didn't skimp on the toppings. Ham, cheese, jam and egg and a side of fruit. Very tasty and reasonably priced. I'll definitely come back, maybe I'll try it for lunch.

After several locals recommended Antiquity, we quickly learned why reservations are so hard to come by. We couldn't secure a table on our actual anniversary, but managed to get one a couple of nights later, and it was well worth the wait. From the outside, Antiquity is understated. Step inside, however, and you're immediately welcomed into a warm, intimate atmosphere that feels like a hidden gem tucked away in Old Town Albuquerque. Owner Steve, who has been running the restaurant for nearly three decades, greeted us personally. His passion for hospitality was evident from the moment we arrived. While we waited briefly for our table, he took time to learn about us, ask what types of food we enjoy, and offer thoughtful menu recommendations. The restaurant itself is charming and authentic, with an old-world steakhouse feel that perfectly complements the historic New Mexico setting. Many of the tables and booths are arranged to create private, intimate dining spaces, making it an ideal choice for special occasions. We were touched when Steve seated us at what he called the "anniversary table," complete with a small scattering of heart confetti, despite our celebration having technically passed. Service throughout the evening was exceptional. Rather than relying on a single server, the entire staff worked seamlessly together. Water glasses were never less than half full, empty plates disappeared almost instantly, and every member of the team seemed genuinely invested in ensuring guests had a memorable experience. Even the kitchen staff engaged warmly with diners, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. As for the food, it exceeded every expectation. We started with oysters on the half shell, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. I upgraded to the special salad, a beautiful combination of greens, apples, strawberries, mandarin oranges, walnuts, bacon, and a creamy mini brie, all brought together with a delicious pear vinaigrette. For our entrée, we chose the Châteaubriand for two. It was expertly prepared, carved tableside, and cooked perfectly. Every recommendation we received was spot-on, and the meal was so impressive that before leaving, I made another reservation for later that week just so I could return and try more of the menu before our trip ended. Antiquity offers beer and wine rather than a full bar, which was perfectly fine for us and fit the restaurant's classic, understated character. This is not an inexpensive dinner, nor should it be. What you're paying for is exceptional food, genuine hospitality, flawless service, and an atmosphere that is increasingly difficult to find. Antiquity doesn't simply serve dinner, it creates an experience. If you're visiting Albuquerque and looking for a memorable meal, especially for a special occasion, this restaurant deserves a spot at the very top of your list.

No, so don't expect change for the sake of patrons' convenience. At least the person who answers the phone, and frankly, that's more than you get from most restaurants these days. Very unassuming on the outside. Inside, you can tell it's an established place that's been around for a while. Arrived a few minutes early for our celebratory reservation and were seated right away in a quiet, private book surrounded by art and dim lighting. For starters, my gumbo was good, and his salad looked as good as it tasted. For entrees, husband got sucked in by the specials and ordered the schnitzel, which (to quote Shania) didn't impress me much. To clarify, there was nothing wrong with it, but I've had a lot of schnitzel, and it just failed to stand out. I kept to the classics with a filet mignon. To my surprise, it left the same impression. Again, absolutely nothing wrong with it - cooked well, quality cut, etc. - but I've had more memorable steaks at High Noon Saloon. *shrug* Highlight: The servers were exceptional. Lowlight: The sconce / light fixture over our table was in need of a dusting. Overall: A lovely evening to toast my guy's significant professional achievement. Would recommend if you find yourself stuck in the rut of bad service when dining out. Antiquity's dinner service will remind you how a night on the town is supposed to feel!
