In the area already and looking for a late lunch. Note that this place is called "Restaurant El…read moreSalvadoreño" on Google. You can find it by the giant sign reading "PUPUSASERIA" out front. We walked in and started reading the menu and chatting with the man at the counter. He helped us pick out *five* vegetarian pupusas. Pretty good start! We ordered the calabacitas and cheese, the green chile and cheese, the loroco and cheese, the spinach and cheese, and the bean. Then the guy was surprised we wanted to eat there - guess you only order at the counter for to-go. We also inquired about the aguas frescas, and upon being assured that they were not that sweet, ordered a tamarindo and a melon. We grabbed a small table under the TV playing cumbia and other Salvadoran music videos. There were several other folks in the place so we got to look at some of the other offerings, including huge bowls of menudo and possibly even huger tortas. Our pupusas came fairly quickly for pupusas (some places will advise you that they can take 15-20 minutes) and came with two sides: a bowl of a very thin but flavorful salsa, and a mound of red cabbage slaw that reminded me just a bit of a pickled situation. Two of us were able to eat the 5 together, although 4 would have probably been enough. But now we've tried them all. The green chile and cheese was my favorite; the calabacitas was also good. The bean would be better with cheese; I might try to eat it with a cheesy one in the future. Also, the aguas frescas were aMAzing. Definitely the best ones that I have had in Albuquerque, and possibly the best outside of Mexico. Just a delight! The only knock on this place is that they close at 6pm every day, so if you want them for dinner you'll have to get takeout the last hour they are open. They do have several breakfast-y options though, so maybe the next time we visit (and I definitely want to go back!) we'll make it a brunch thing.

My wife and I recently went here for a late weekend lunch on a recent trip and had an extremely…read moredisappointing experience despite Gobble This being recommended to us. The ambiance was solid, with local artwork and pottery throughout the restaurant. While we were able to get seats immediately, the service was unacceptable. Gobble This had only one chef and one server, which meant that we had to wait 40 minutes for our food even though the restaurant was not crowded. If you are a restaurant in a major tourist area on a weekend, you cannot have just one chef and server for your guests. I got the chicken tacos, which were fine. However, they were not worth the high cost ($25) or the long wait. My wife got a pupusa platter with rice and beans, which cost $20. It came with one medium-sized pupusa and a small amount of rice and beans. This exact dish would cost less than half that amount in a big city. Even accounting for the tourist area higher costs, this was outrageous. There is far better Latin American and New Mexican cuisine in Albuquerque with better portions at more affordable prices; I would go elsewhere for that experience.

Ordered the diablo shrimp. She said they could make it with a corn topper. It came out with a wheat flour topper. She apologized and said she would remake it. And here is where things went left. There was a mix up about what would be remade. She meant they would remake the topper. I thought she said they would remake the meal because of cross contamination. Then it was a little back and forth with what she believed to be the difference between an allergy and an intolerance. But I think she meant the difference between celiac and a gluten intolerance. I asked for the food not to be remade and found somewhere else to eat If you don't have celiac or a gluten intolerance, please don't argue with folks about the impacts on their bodies. The agua fresca was good.

The chili was excellent came with a large side of rice and beans, lettuce, pico sour cream guacamole was absolutely delicious. Same as the salad I replaced the blue cheese with goat cheese and it was excellent. The dressing was so good and the fruit fresh. The margarita, perfect not too sweet not artificial tasting at all. Now, the tamale oh my goodness I've never had such a moist tamale maybe the best tamale I've ever had. The pupusa was delicious and they didn't skimp on the cabbage salad. I expected something different with the beef stew. It was much thinner and Brosier than I expected, but it had an absolutely delicious flavor and plenty of meat. I would definitely come back here and I would definitely recommend this to anybody

The server also failed to tell us that we could order only off of the one menu that fit the exact time of our visit, which happened to coincide with the time that they switch from offering lunch to the time they serve dinner. The cheeseburger was very tasty. The grilled salmon tacos were good but served with flavorless beans and bland rice. Not a place we'd refuse to visit again, but definitely not one we're eager to return to either.

The guys with me recommended Red Enchilada due to the pupusas not being premade and frozen. Service was friendly and helpful. I tried a drink, called Marañon, which according to Google is the cashew apple. Pupusas were excellent! Especially with the salsa and pickled cabbage w/veggies added on top. The Super Breakfast plate was good too, but was pretty standard (eggs, carne adovada, potatoes, beans). The pupusas were a stand out and I'd definitely go back for those. My friend had to send his steak back because he wasn't cooked the way he asked, but another one in our party also had a steak and we think they just accidentally swapped their steaks when they plated them. They gladly took it back to cook it more. Good prices, and a very large menu too.

Asked for blue corn and sopapillia. Came with beans, salad, posole, rice, plenty of cheese. The steak was thick and juicy. Amazing value for 16.95!
