I just started to crochet and knit again and was so happy to find this gem of a store. Lots to choose from. The price points vary. I love the higher end yarns with cashmere and this store has several brands, including Zen and Dream Club. I probably circle that little store 5 or 6 times determined to buy something. The selection is fabulous. Every inch is covered with incredible colorways of yarn.
The owner is very nice and personable.
I have shopped at this store on several occasions and I purchase at least 100.00 or more of yarn on every visit. The only reason why I won't give it 5 stars is because of my most recent trip.
Since I don't live in the area, I don't get any of the community coupons (which they have). I do ask for some type of discount, which they have given in the past. However, on my last visit, I spent 80.00 and asked if there were any coupon out there as the one I had (which was given to me by a store employee last month) had expired. It was a 15% discount coupon. I was told that I could not use the expired coupon and that they would not give me any discount...Oh, really?
So, I put my name on the email list and asked if I would then get coupons...and that was a "no."
The employee at the counter asked the store owner if she would honor the coupon or provide some type of discount. The answer was "no."
When I dug a little deeper, I find out that people who belong to Raverly, and join the Yarn Diva & More group, automatically get a 15% discount on EVERYTHING...no matter what the total. Really? So, you have a customer who frequents your store and spends 100.00+ at every visit and you don't offer any discount, although you send out monthly coupons to the community, and you don't tell me about the Raverly discount that your own store offers?
I'm a member of Raverly. My phone is in my hand...how high do I need to jump?
Wow...so that doesn't make me feel like a valued customer at all. And as much as I love this store, I won't be coming back. I have to say, I was more than a little insulted. It made me feel a bit like George..."no soup for you!" It is with great sadness that I must remove the store from my yarn addict hit list. I prefer to shop where my patronage is valued.
Oddly, enough, I just started posting my projects on Raverly and had recently listed Yarn Diva as a location where I bought my yarn. Had I known the secret, I would have saved 12.00 that day. Obviously, I know that providing discounts is up to their discretion, but if you are handing them out, then why not tell your repeat clients about it?
I was so upset that I went to another yarn store and spent 60.00 on some silk yarn... where they gave me a 20% discount as a frequent client, thank you very much.
So, now you know the secret for a 15% discount when shopping at Yarn Diva & More. Maybe you will have better luck than I did. read more
