Never have I been to a store with such horrible, useless and careless workers in my life, and I shop a lot. The workers here refused to fill up my 2 balloons with helium, after I had payed for them, because they had too many other balloons to fill up. Meanwhile, the workers were sitting down laughing when we walked away. Now my mom will have no balloons for her birthday due to the pure retardation of Michaels in Paramus workers. Congrats to Michaels, just lost a customer forever. Enjoy being a C-tier store constantly on the brink of bankruptcy. This is a clean store that is easy to navigate. However, their advertised sale prices aren't what ring up at the register and it took some back and forth to clear it all up. Observe the big "UPS Access Point" Brown Sticker on the Michaels door entrance and be happy that there is a location conveniently located near you to quickly ship your package. 2. Enter the big Michaels Store and walk past the long checkout line hoping that you don't need to stand there to drop off your package. 3. Stroll around the store looking for the UPS Access Point booth with no success. 4. Search for a Michaels Associate to help you find the UPS Access Point drop off and eventually give up because there aren't any on the floor. 5. Defeated, stand in the long checkout line waiting for your turn. 6. When you're called to the register, watch three associates try to figure out how to scan your package. 7. Laugh as a person skips the long checkout line to drop off their UPS package. Then ask the associate how he did that. 8. Stand there stupidly as the associate points to a tiny pole near the entrance with a small UPS sticker next to a bell that is to be pressed to let you cut in line and get your package scanned. 9. Love this Michael's location -- it's always well stocked and the storefront is well maintained. I really enjoy crafting and I can always count on this store to have the supplies I need. The Michaels app also makes it super easy to use coupons with store purchases. Only cons to this location is due to it convenient location there's often a 10-15min line for the register. Also store could be better w/ more staff due to the size of the store, it's always rather difficult to find a staff member to ask a question about an item. Really unprofessional custom framing department. I brought in something to frame and they said it would be ready in 2 weeks and that thy would notify me when ready. I called 2 weeks later since I didn't get any notification that my picture was ready, and the manager told me that the wrong size frame and materials came in and she had to reorder the material that day and it would probably be ready in another week but there was no guarantee. I needed it by a certain date as a surprise for my daughter and purposely went a few weeks before so I'd have it for her. I was so disappointed. I understood mistakes happen, but if they would have been able to guarantee that it would have been ready in another week I would have accepted it. Since, she couldn't guarantee anything and was not at all helpful, I asked for a full refund and told her that I'd come and get the picture back so I could have it framed somewhere else. At first, she said she wouldn't give me a refund but I made a fuss. They didn't even have the decency to call me to let me know it wasn't gong to be ready. I asked her why she didn't call and she said they can't call everybody. I would definitely not recommend this place. Very unprofessional. I was insulted & refused a refund by a male Manager who looked to be 40 something. I tried to return a picture frame which had no possible way in which to hang it from on the back of it. The frame was absolutely useless to me with no way to hang it on the wall. It was was made with just 2 sheets of glass with no backing at all, the surrounding frame was plastic and wouldn't allow for a hanger to be nailed onto it a very poor design. Had I noticed before I purchased it I would never have bought it. I had my unexpired receipt and it was within the allotted time period for returns. The nasty manager claimed I couldn't return it because the plastic packaging film had been opened. The manager was very rude, obnoxious,argumentative and insulting to me in front of the other customers & employees who were around. I saw him snickering as I walked past him to leave. We came here looking for Christmas presents for my family. We heard that some of their arts and crafts stuff was on sale. While it was true that their stuff was on (air quotes) SALE (end air quotes), their sale prices were still WAY higher than the regular prices at THE big box store (don't pretend that you don't know who I'm talking about). This review is specific to the framing department: Went in with a free poster and now it looks like a true piece of art. I was so impressed with my sales associate, Rose (Framing Manager?). She was knowledgeable and to the point. Even during the 50% off sale, the frame was ready a week before the quoted date. Be prepared to spend at least $100 on a custom frame with glass (even during the half-off sale, framing is expensive!!). They also replaced the glass on an existing frame. The new location they moved in is really the same as before, just a couple of stores down. The staff is friendly and normally helpful, they have an awesome framing department. Most of the time for custom frames, you can get a lot of discounts, on their basic frames normally 60 percent off. They also have great prices on pre made frames. They do have a lot of supplies for arts and crafts but it not a realy speciality shop. read more

This store is pretty disorganized, I picked two bags of crinkle paper sitting on a shelf basket that had a clearance tag of 79 cents, the shelf was split in two but that was the only tag sitting on the shelf for the color I needed. It rung up for 3.99 a piece and when I told the cashier she was very nice and sent someone to look and apparently the clearance tag was for a smaller size of that product that was sold out. But when I pointed out to the guy that the the only tag on the shelf, even with the larger bags sharing the same space was the clearance tag for 79 cents he just said "Oh well, its not.." Really? I would've been satisfied with "I'm sorry about that" or "we"ll be sure to fix that." I've worked retail for years, and when that happens stores are usually obligated to either off a discount for the inconvenience of running out of an item, or honoring the price the item was sitting above because its not the customers fault it was placed there. Granted not every store has to do that, and i would've been satisfied if he just would've said Micheal's doesn't do that but we'll fix that so it doesn't happen again, but instead I got "oh well, its not.." I just left this Michaels location. I am a customer spends hundreds of dollars at Michaels. I called the store before coming in to find out availability of Happy Planners. I had come in a couple days ago, and at that time they had probably 2 to 3 planners available. When I called I asked if they had more planners available than the couple I had seen the last time I came to the store. The guy who picked up the phone spoke to the "manager" in charge who told him to tell me that they did receive a new shipment and that they had more planners in stock. When I arrived to the store they had the same ones I had seen the last time I came. When I asked the "manager" Melissa why she had mis informed me and made me come all the way here for nothing she was very condescending and proceeded the give a shake of the head and repeated that she understood me but still offered no apology for her mistake and continued to tell me That she did have planner when I had been so specific to my request. The word Manager is in " " because she is not management material, she has a-lot to learn, and should try to avoid additional bad reviews for her store.
