It's also the best place to park if you're heading to a Jacksonville Suns game... it's literally right across the street from the main entrance to the stadium. Best thing about it? It's a garage. This means it's covered. We live in Florida. Who wants a hot car?! It's a very nice, clean, safe garage with plenty of spaces available. There's always security around, so you don't have to be worried about walking to and from your car. Pricing varies. I have parked here a couple of times for free (my daughter's high school graduation and a free Jacksonville Sharks scrimmage game). I have also parked here numerous other times for concerts, Disney on Ice, Suns baseball games, etc. and parking has been either $5 or $10. I've never had to pay more than $10. It just makes sense to park here rather than on in one of the outside lots where you'll end up paying the same amount for your car to sit in the hot sun and you'll have to walk a lot farther to get to the stadium. City Hall is located across the street from Hemming Plaza. You're going to have to park on the street and feed a meter (unless you have a handicapped parking permit in which case you can park for free and aren't required to feed the meters). Parking can be quite hard to find downtown, so bring some patience with you. I remember being amazed the first time I walked into City Hall because I wasn't expecting the inside of the building to be so beautiful. It's so large and clean. I was and still am very impressed with the way the COJ keeps City Hall maintained. It is a government building, so make sure not to bring in any weapons. I really shouldn't have to say that, but I know some people do have a concealed license permit and they carry them. It can be a little confusing to navigate the building, but there are plenty of people around to help you find the office you are looking for.

The 80 year old Lady in the booth always makes a comment about his office and the patients who park there. She says we never know how to scan the validated ticket. Not nice at all. Very cranky lady. I am sorry to say this, but it's true. So, I don't know if I'll ever park in this garage or not. I'd rather walk a mile, but it was raining the day I came.

Parking was breeze, we grabbed our ticket, we were able to get ground floor parking, and it was a short walk to the Times Union Center. Leaving the structure was just as easy. We submitted our ticket, paid with a card, and were on our way. THe best part was there wasn't a traffic jam getting out of the lot.

Even on busy days, there are still plenty of spaces open, you just have to drive higher to find them. (Obviously, if you drive a compact car, you have a better chance to find a more convenient spot near an elevator.) Priced reasonably, $4 for one hour, an additional $4 for the second hour but no more than $10 total. If you are on jury duty, the fee is waived with proof of jury summons. If you are an employee, you can get special monthly rates. The ground floor of the garage houses a few restaurants and cafes, convenient to the courthouse. Also, I have used this garage for free during Downtown's Art Walk (1st Wednesday of the month), but only one access door is open in the evening then, and it's the one that faces Clay Street.

The name comes from it is where five roads intersect. It is a hip enclave that draws an eclectic collection of people. It is a great destination if you are in the Jacksonville, Florida area. I love these cool enclaves that give a city a personality. We need these neighborhoods where people can gather and just chill and meld together to be what is beyond a bunch of people, they become a community. I worked with Account Executive Gray Gibson, and after several conversations, we agreed those seats were perfect. They were one row behind our friends and were exactly what I wanted for a special gift for my husband. I was a serious buyer, prepared to spend nearly $6,000. I explained to Gray that I needed a few days before paying because I was waiting for the "clear to close" on my home purchase. We scheduled a call for Thursday, with payment planned for Friday. On Wednesday morning, Gray told me the seats were still available and said he would see about holding them. I asked to move our call up to Wednesday, but he told me there was no reason to do so if I wasn't paying that day. Based on that conversation, I believed the seats were being held for me. Ironically, later that afternoon I received my clear to close, meaning I was free to make the purchase. Unfortunately, Thursday morning Gray told me the seats were gone, along with the seats directly behind them. I was offered seats several rows farther back. I understand that other customers can purchase available seats. What I don't understand is why I was left with the impression that the seats were being held for me when they weren't. If I had been clearly told from the beginning that it was simply first come, first paid, I would have understood the risk and handled things differently. I also spoke with supervisor Chris Carter, but unfortunately there was no meaningful resolution. I repeatedly explained why Section 130 was important to me, yet the focus remained on trying to sell me other seats costing thousands of dollars that didn't meet my needs. This was supposed to be an exciting gift for my husband, and instead the experience completely ruined it. The Jaguars didn't just lose the sale of these seats--they lost a customer. Clear communication and customer service should matter just as much as making the sale.
