Honestly, as far as jails go, this one isn't too bad. Most of the correctional officers are pretty kind and respectful, save a few. I will say that the food is awful due to the fact that it is all soy based which is terrible on the body and makes everyone fart so much that the entire place smells like one big rotten musty soy fart. Yavapai County Jail If I could do zero Stars I would I am 42 years old and I've never been in trouble with the law and they had the audacity to arrest me for no reason no proof no nothing and the guy who arrested me smiled the whole time he was up on his high horse even the cops standing there said most likely you're going to get a warning that's what happens and then when the dude came over and said I was under arrest he goes well I guess he's on his high horse today don't 2take it personally he's a jerk. Horrible experience there first offense which I did nothing wrong and the woman detention officer threw me on the ground bruised my arm bit my arm. Stepped on my very broken foot and told me your foot is supposed to look like that they treat people like animals refuse to let me have a phone call to contact my attorney and I kept knocking on the door to get answers and they kept ignoring me telling me I was being a nuisance however they would not let me call my attorney or my mother to get me out of there. I wish I could remember the one deputy's name but the one girl not the one who bit me I told her I felt like with suffocating and she told me that she didn't give a s*** about me and that I was full of s***. I will be taking this to the state they cannot treat people inhumane what happened to being innocent until proven guilty even the so-called DO and charge says yep you got that right. They treat people very very unhumane there were a couple good people that agreed I was being treated horrible not to mention they made me stay naked for 24 hours and they would not give me anything due to the fact that I was on my menstrual cycle they said tough luck. If they want to hold this review against me that is perfectly fine because the truth is out there my attorney knows all about it and I will be suing the state or the county the so-called nursing for Mary I told her that I'm on blood pressure medicine I'm on pain medicine for my foot and for my neck and back she said your foot's been awhile you shouldn't be any pain so quit bitching and ask for your anxiety medicine have fun detoxing and if you have a heart attack then maybe we'll give you your blood pressure medicine. They don't like my review and they continue with their nonsense on the stupid ass charges it will just prove that they can't handle the truth about how their jail is oh and let me tell you they make you s*** in a drain looking thing on the floor like you would see in a public restroom drain. They also make you drink out of a water faucet that is attached to the toilets in the regular jail cells how is that humane. They will not allow me back in my own home that my mom has control over and this had nothing to do with her so now I'm paying money to have to stay in a hotel. The people that were nice totally disagreed apologized and said that if I need them to testify or anything Will be contacting all new stations Also the picture of my hip was from the same detention officer placing her knee on my side I have really bad PTSD now it's even worse thanks to them shame on you you have a pi county the place is inhumane. Their water fountain is attached to the toilet that is not humane or sanitary and then if you're put in a different place they consider as suicide watch since I was trying to get their attention and knocking on the door it's like a drain that you would see like in a restroom and a truck stop on the floor that they want you to use it's not even a toilet and there's human feces all in it how in the world is that sanitary And I hadn't even gone to trial I was not found guilty or anything what happened to being innocent until proven guilty well I will tell you they treat you like you're guilty they already have you judged and they beat the s*** out of you. read more

Why is this dingbat writing a review of a county jail? Because if you happen to visit this place, you would find out it is a business. Our RV was parked in the street in front of a relative's house during and right after the holidays in the suburbs of this small town in northern california, and perhaps due to neighbors who didn't like it being there that long, the police came by late one cold evening and asked if they could look/search the RV. Now this is a town of rednecks and cowboys and not what you might think. It has one supermarket, 3 gas stations, and the local economy has been declining at a more and more rapid rate for a long time. Personally I think anyone with drive and ambition would of left there a long time ago, unless you have family or other ties there. They have a drive through liquor stand, one Denny's, it get super goddamn hot in the summer and extrmely cold in the winter. Yavapi County decided to build a very large capacity modern day jail complex a few years ago, and anyone who isn't a criminal wouldn't make much notice of this happening anywhere in the USA, until.... I refused this request to search my RV, this is a town where we stood out, two opinionated women in an RV from California, though we visited the kids every Holiday season for the last few years, so we where I guess a known quanity. At that point I was informed then that the drug-sniffing dogs were going to be brought over to the RV's location and if they reacted to anything they then had the right to search the RV. I thought fine go ahead, I had thought that this inquiry by the local police seemed to take on a little life of it's own here, I mean they only had 1 drug sniffing dog. They dog arrived, we were in the house at the time, this was at night, there was a open culvert where I had been dumping our RV grey tank which is just the kitchen sink water. The drug-sniffing dog slipped and fell into the culvert, the dog-police person slipped also, they found nothing of any consequence. The next thing I knew the cop came into the house screaming at me for dispersing raw sewage into public access way. Now I had seen many houses here with garbage dumped in their front yards, garbage piled on top of garbage, good old boys standing up peeing into this culvert which ran the whole block, and worse. The cop told me he was going to write me a ticket and asked me to step outside, never go willing by the way. Immediately he threw handcuffs on me, made me stand outside while he wrote me up for 'criminal-littering'. I was outside in the cold,My GF and I had a really bad flu that we got from the kids, we were visibily very ill with fevers, for awhile until a female officer came to cart me off to jail. and Oppsie they left my california drivers' license on the outside of the cop car and it was now lost. Now I was a california driver with no driver's license. The cop told my GF that she could bail me out in an hour or two. Eventually several hours later, and I was carted off to another local jail and then eventually to the multi-million dollar Yavapi Jail Complex at 2 or 3 AM, finger printed and so on, I started to think of how similiar this was to the Arlo Guthrie song of Alice's Restaurant, but I knew to keep my goddamn mouth shut. I had my orange jumpsuit, they almost forgot to walk me down the aisle so I could get my crappy bed cushion and blanket and toilet paper and soap, they said something like 'we don't go no more blankets, toilet paper, take it or leave it' I took the soap, towel, and cushion. Lonliness and dispare come quickly in places like this, you get to see lots of unoccupied cells and one tries to figure out if you take the top bunk does that make you a top bitch? or if you take the bottom bunk does that make you a bottom bitch? Or if you climb the little ladder to go up top if you slip and happen to kick the inmage below will I get shiv'ed? I dunno. Daylight came by and I had my 'FA' First appearence in front of a judge on a little monitor, he asked me right away if I was capable of understanding what was going on, which made me think, "???" do I look high? Crapola!" I was told the fine for my crime was a potential fine of $2000 and 6 months in jail. like WTF? hey hey One cannot be bailed out until one has one's First Appearence, so the cop lied to me and my GF when I was arrested. Nothing looked so good to me as her face when I got escorted eventually to her, no one ever looked so wonderful to me. As it turned out I went to court which was several weeks away so we had to stay there in that lovely town and when I asked the Prosecuter if I could use the bond amount towards my fine, she said "You were in Jail? Why? this wasn't a jailable offense." So there you have it, putting people in jail in that area is a business. The metal toilet/sink didn't work quite right, you could hear when everyone in my little 'pod' used the toilet, the food was awful awful, total carbohydrates, I will not return. read more

The Yavapai county jail was an great experience. I decided to mess up one day and go there. When I got to the jail I was met with professionalism by the staff. I came in to the intake area and had a quick roll up to the dorms. They even gave me one cell to myself! Though they did mention something about being an sw? Anyways, while in the dorms I had gotten 3 meals a day and I got to be naked all day long! The food wasn't the best but I was still appreciative non the less. I was in the jail for about 7 months before being released. When I was released they had everything that I came in with. They processed me out quickly now I am living the life hoping to never screw up again. read more

My unfortunate experience of being summoned to check into this unclean and hostile environment brought feelings of apathy. The cell was completely filthy ceiling to floor and provided a sink with a drinking fountain that released the most toxic tasting water. After a few drinks I became terribly nauseated. The toilet was terribly dirty; yet, adorned with layers of stuck on toilet paper that wouldn't budge when I tugged vigorously...and repeatedly. While being sequestered here is never on anyone's bucket list, my intention is to raise awareness of a clean space and the positive health benefits of those in the environment; both employees and visitors. Especially with COVID-19, standards of disinfecting NEED to be implemented....most importantly because visitors are innocent until proven guilty!! This is our constitutional right! Regardless of any human's circumstances, we all need a clean environment and properly filtered water. These basics would not only improve the health of the courageous employees, but also improve the demeanor of the visitors by providing clean air and drinkable water. Both of these components encourage detoxing. If every other business has to comply with strict sanitizing protocols, why is this business exempt? read more

I decided to mess up and make some poor decisions that won me an all experiences paid vacation to this 5 star facility. Where can I start! The food must be prepared by a Michelin Star Chef, it was incredible. The rooms were luxurious with breathtaking views. The vanity in the room was very sturdy and modern. The mattress must have been of high quality because I have never slept so well. Definitely warm, cozy and inviting. I will definitely be returning! read more

I served 9 days here. Honestly wasn't too bad. There was a few asshole guards, but besides that it was easy going! The food was only $2 a day, and most meals weren't bad at all. The tacos were absolute garbage though. They provided adequate cleaning supplies, so those people saying that "their cell was too dirty", that's 100% on them. If you're in there for a bit of time, you can get a tablet and watch movies. The beds weren't very comfy, could easily feel the concrete underneath me. But still got decent sleep. That is until they wake you up at 430AM for breakfast. Overall, made some great friends, and learned a lot from my time in there. I would recommend this jail if you unfortunately have to do some time. My biggest complaint was that I only got milk with breakfast twice. drinking nothing but water all day got old quick. Hopefully you never need to go, but if you do, I'm sure there are much worse places to spend time in jail! read more

(Based on a one-night stay): Accommodations are pretty sparse and there is limited room selection. The 'Medical' rooms can prove quite crowded and you will probably end up sleeping on the floor with a thin blanket in some sort of a container. Bathroom is not private and you must share it with your roommates. Stainless-Steel toilet & sink are functional, and room lighting is controlled by an external floor monitor. Lights come on about 4 am and will wake you up for a room-service breakfast without coffee. While the check-in process is pretty simple (24-hr. front desk), checking out may prove difficult and you might be there for an extended stay--and you will not earn any 'points' on your credit cards. read more

I had occasion several times to visit an acquaintance who was being held there while awaiting trial. She has brain damage, due to a vehicle accident which threw her thru a windshield, and because of that she has difficulties understanding what people say and what they intend. As a result of that, she is homeless. While she was being held at the jail, she was given an order of some kind, and while she was trying to process what was being asked, the guards became impatient and threw her on the ground, breaking her arm. There was a whole string of indignities--this was the worst. She was eventually released after several months, and is now back on the street. read more

I stayed at this 5 star resort for a couple months. They only charge about 78 dollars a day to stay there so the price is right. I did not get raped which is always a bonus. The food is so advanced in it's chemistry that it actually changes your "insides"at a molecular level. The wildlife is awesome as well. I was able to bird watch a sparrow who would visit my 6" window and laugh at me on occasion. At least I think that is what he was doing. The turndown service was terrible though. The brochure said the workers were the cream of the crop. I think they might be growing shit bushes as "said" crop. Anywho, Fuck this place. read more
