My former department, the California Highway Patrol, had always encouraged officers to be approachable and polite. Today I contacted an officer at the PV Ocean Blue carwash that was vacuuming her radio car. As I approached she smiled and faced me. I thanked her for her service and extended my hand. We shook hands and I wished her a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year. Her uniform and appearance was impeccable and she was a credit to the profession. Although I miss the job it's officer's like her that let you know that you are in good hands. Her name was of Greek origin and ended in "Poulos". Thank you officer. This was…read moreon the 8th of April and I have heard that they close 2nd Wednesday of the month in the morning. I don't live in the area and was unaware of this. There was another car in the parking lot, that person walked up and tried the door as well.
