Dr. Joudeh and his staff are amazing. I have been a patient of Dr. Joudeh for over ten years. He is very thorough, honest, and kind. He does not rush through appointments and listens to all of your concerns. He provides holistic care. I feel as if he focuses on primary prevention. He works very hard to prevent diseases before you even develop them. Dr. Joudeh is also very knowledgeable and informative. He is up to date with the latest treatment options. He teaches his patients to become advocates for themselves by providing them with information needed to make informed decisions regarding their healthcare. Doctors who provide this quality of care and take a patient centered approach to your healthcare are rare these days. #2-2021 after finding out next door from the other doctor that I had type 2 diabetes mellitus strongly recommended to see him to find out a little more and try to get things in check. so I made an appointment this is a very busy office they do work in so if somebody cancels but a lot of times you have to schedule an appointment here weeks sometimes a month in advance. Dr Joudah a fairly younger MD originally from New Orleans area set up practice in Chicago after going to medical school here it seems. specializing in obesity pediatrics and diabetics and diet he definitely gets the business very quickly. I told him what I was diagnosed with and first thing he said I'm on the metformin he said okay where is he going to try something that is very expensive and takes an injection like ozympic but I said no can't do that driving the truck have to get a special waiver. so he said to your A1C is 9.1 this was in June 2020 and basically had the metformin 750 mg prescribed from Dr Drinian next door and he started me on pio glitzone a glucose pill. not really too much of a change in my diet other than limiting some caffeine and some of the starchy stuff as opposed to double order a mashed potatoes go with a single try to get a few more vegetables of what the veggies I like and can find on the road and I do here and there try to mix things up and get some variance in there so it's just a main thing watching out for the two big ones there the starch and the sugar but the sugar hasn't really been a problem because I don't really take a lot of it but some of it doesn't break down the insulin in your body so that's why I sometimes limit a lot more than what I used to have lots of white rice and refined flour stuff and I do more wheat and whole grains. I basically told him what I eat a lot of and he's like pretty much that's not bad at all for where you're at right now other than just try to limit like if you go to KFC and have chicken and mashed potatoes don't have the biscuit or vice versa. came back to check up a few months later my A1C had dropped a little bit to 8.6 after 3 months which was a start his goal he said he'd like to try to get me into pre-diabetes if he can I probably may never go back to normal but if I can get my A1C into a low six it would be very good. I did not need to be insulin dependent Ididn't have to stab my finger to check my blood sugar it wasn't that bad but it's definitely still because of my dad the same thing diabetes positive yes I haven't had sugar stuff I've been drinking Splenda and drinking diet soda for over 10 yrs. I also mentioned to him about the pad and he said before you go to see a vascular surgeon the first thing they're just going to do is start cutting and do surgery and everything else he had me try some ciloztazol which is pretty much what they would have done anyway if I would have went to a vascular doctor anyway. To treat PAD in the start you go through the steps you try the pills then you go to the next step if nothing else happens. and pills supposed to help with the claudication. Seems slowly I have noticed it is helping a little bit two pills a day 100 mg each I do walk a little further I know with pad I'll never walk like I used to for miles and miles on end with no problem at all.b but I do notice that I can move little better by gauging distance like from the back of the truck stop to the front without having to stop. and some of the truck stops are pretty big or close to a little over a block walk. so little inroads I came back December 2020 and had of course my all my other levels were looking really good and the A1C did drop to 8.1 which is really good in less than a year only 6 months to go from 9.2 to 8.1 so it is on the move. he however took over the prescription for the metformin and up to 1500 mg a day which means it's two pills at dinner time 750 mg x2 g he also up my pioglitzone to a 30 mg a day.. said pretty much keep doing what you're doing and we'll check again in 6 months or so or 5 months and see where all the levels are hopefully the A1C keeps moving. as for the PAD just one thing at a time and see what happens.v as far as that goes the main thing is to get all my levels right before I really should see a vascular surgeon because a lot of what pad is brought on by is by cholesterol LDL diabetes and a whole lot more so it's just a waiting game but so far I've been very satisfied with the medical doctors I'm seeing. but main thing is hopefully each visit the A1C does drop. as they said pad did not come overnight it took a while for PAD to develop in the leg arteries it'll take a while for it to get under control. so between Dr Drinian for the blood pressure tgl cholesterol and other things, and Dr Judah for the diabetes related stuff it's nice that they're right next door to each other same office complex. read more
