Worst cut in my 73+ years. Asked for #4 just on the sides then layer the top down to it. Ended up with a #3 on 3/4 of my head. He cut a bald spot across the side of my head and said "Sorry", (picture doesn't quite show it all). Never had such a Chop Job ever in my life. Uneven and choppy. He just kept cutting and cutting and cutting going over the same areas multiple times. "Peter" was talking non-stop the entire time. Complaining about starting his day at midnight. Repeatably complaining about customers. Complaining about a Casino. Complaining about a friends cowboy hat. I've seen the behavior before in drug related case studies. Drugs or maybe a medical condition of some kind. He also complained about what a lady said to him about his Domed, (Clubbing), fingernails. They look pretty bad. It could be affecting his behavior. The lady even told him he should see a doctor. Her husband died from symptoms related to that condition. Either way. He has no business cutting anyone's hair. read more

Pros: Easy location, tons of parking. Cons: Somewhat rude, terrible cut. This may be a great place for adult hair cuts, but I've never felt more unwelcome than when I brought my kid in for a cut. Place doesn't take appointments. Called earlier in the day on Tuesday and the person I spoke to said that it should be easy to drop in. I dropped in a little before 4p and was told that the sign-up list was cut off. Seems like the barbers just wanted to leave right at 5. Shop should just lock the door or change its hours to 4pm if that is when they're going to cut off walk-ins. Website says they are open until 5p. read more

While I was somewhat skeptical of the name of this barber shop, by the time Rudy had given me the haircut I needed, and I'd witnessed the nuance and interaction between the staff and their customers, I was truly impressed. This actually IS a classic, small town barber shop, in every good way you can imagine. Rudy made me feel relaxed and at home. And he did a very good job, smoothly and swiftly. Even more impressive, to me, the customer before me was a shy young man, maybe 11, and Rudy treated him with unaffected respect, and goodwill. The gentleman on the phone told me they usually just take walk-ins, but he could go ahead and pull a time for us if there was a specific time we were looking to come in the next day. My husband and our son went for their haircuts today, and they look great! My husband said the whole experience was good. They were patient with our son (5), which is always appreciated! This barber shop is a cozy little spot on Main St. in Ferndale, right across from Outlaws. It's connected to a wine shop next door where you can grab a drink either before or after. I got my haircut from Sarah and she did a great job. A few nice touches that went above and beyond included a cool towel for my face, and a bottle of water. First thing, I didn't get the hair cut, my husband did I just waited. It is a clean, comfortable barber shop that plays really fun 40's music. It was a Saturday morning and usually that means a long wait at any barber shop. He signed in at about #5 on the list. There was a lady barber and she was fun to watch. Her client was an older gentleman and she was so engaged. When he got up to leave, she handed presented a little silver tray with his hearing aids on it. A very nice touch. She did a great job on a man who wanted a high and tight. The young man who cut my husband's hair must have been new, he was a bit slower and not quick to cut it as short as my husband likes but I thought it looked nice. He was nicely groomed and very polite. There is a separate waiting are and barber chair for little ones to have something to do while they are waiting and outside is a cute little train seat. There is a checker set on a table to pass the time. Overall, I think it is a great old school barber shop that is clean, friendly, and provides great grooming services. read more

What a gem! Ken cut my sons hair quickly with as much care and precision as a 30-45 minute session at another salon usually takes. My other son enjoyed watching his brother get his hair cut he wanted his cut too. The shop is very family friendly, toys to play with, checkers and even a cool car to sit in and "drive". What makes the place amazing is that Ken himself is "family friendly", he is fast and engaging with the kids and involves them with the haircut instead of talking only to the parents (all the crayons in the world can't make a place family friendly if the employee/server/owner isn't). I love going here it's classic and everything's always done efficiently I recently went to get a haircut and this lady who've I've never seen there before (I didn't catch her name, it's the lady who has blonde hair but not the short blonde hair the one with longer hair) she did my haircut and I told her I was going to a wedding tomorrow and I just wanted a trim on the top and it fading up all around the sides but to keep the sides short and she said alright it was about 5:40 when my haircut started. And she started cutting my hair and everything was fine then she started cutting the top of my hair that's when I went uh oh because she immediately cut off about an inch of hair and I just assumed oh shes not gonna cut it that short everywhere it's just thin it out or something but I was wrong she was cutting it that short all over and she then finished my fade higher on the left side of my head and lower on the right side of my head. I went into that hair cut with about 4 inches of hair on the top of my head and left it with about two inches.... I just wanted a trim and for her to clean up the sides I even showed her how I usually style my hair and how I do it so she could know how to cut my hair better and I have absolutely no idea how to style my hair now it's too short to do any styles I know of and it's not short enough to do any styles I looked up or just thought of it's at a really odd length and it kind of looks like my hairs a helmet towards the back of my head but it gets a lot longer towards the front of my head. Everyone else who works at this establishment is absolutely amazing at what they do but this lady is not so great at it and I just think it reflects poorly on the barbershop read more
