This is a store where you find that first instrument that you love because you know you have the need to make your fingers move. One of the problems with so many inexpensive guitars is that they are cheap. Rob has inexpensive guitars, but he has companies like Harley Benton, which make amazingly good instruments for the price point. If you are looking to start out, or just need a good backup at a decent price, this is the place to start.

So I have been looking on craigslist about every day and found a guy who had a few used ones for sale, at the time I didn't know it was Andrew from Tuna Piano. He services pianos of all kinds, tuning them, moving them, and fixing them up for folks! After I emailed the craiglist add he called me and invited me to come over and check out what he had! He had multiple great options for me to choose from! I wanted something that would be good for recording, could hold a tune, was cheap enough for me, and would look good in our house! I found something perfect! He gave me a great deal on it, if I would help him move it in! After the purchase I set up a delivery time for the next day, where after a initial call to let us know they were on their way, they arrived on time and moved the piano into our living room in a safe and efficient manner. I then arranged for Andy to come back at a later date and tune the piano. On the scheduled date he arrived, not only did he tune the piano he cleaned it too! Have you ever seen a dirty piano? It's nasty! Anyway, Tuna Piano Service met all my expectations and I would recommend them to anyone who needed a piano or needed their existing one tuned or cleaned. Really cool recording studio just south of downtown Des Moines!…read more The studio is not huge, but has a really vibrant live room that has windows over looking the city and make you feel like you are in some rad loft space while recording! The control room is quite large and comfy for multiple people to sit in for playback The fridge was stocked with some Fireball. They have some really cool guitars, amps, and effects pedals that can be used! Really cosy and comfy spot! I have tried to record in just about every studio in town and so far my experience here has been lovely! Affordable prices, killer clean environment, and good sounds! What more can you ask for!

When we did get it back, it was immaculate. He replaced several parts of the switching, since they had gone bad over the years. He put a couple of new toppers on a couple of the sliders. And I 'll bet you have a…read moreroom/corner/garage in your house with 5 amps, two incomplete drum kits, and old bass with a warped neck, and 5 guitars, maybe even a tambourine or two. Well I tried to sell on of those amps and found out the compressor has stopped working. NO sell and now I need to get it fixed. I've always known about this place but haven't needed their services so I stopped in. Glad I did Jeff really seems to know what he is doing and I have complete faith my Lab Series L5 will come back in proper working order. Plus he's just super nice and fun to talk too.
