Finally got to try the soft serve from Yellow Banks Groves and it was delightful. The vibe of Yellow Banks Groves is kitschy and friendly. The inside of the store is old Florida~ with souvenirs ranging from manatee wine holders to seashell decorations. There are bags of locally-picked oranges and cartons of fresh orange juice for sale as well, but we went for the soft serve. It's a vanilla/orange swirl made with fresh orange juice. The creaminess of the vanilla with the tartness of the orange created a refreshing, nostalgic flavor. The attendant was really sweet. Yellow Banks Groves is a great spot if you're craving soft serve, needing a local shop to showcase to people visiting from out of town, or if you're looking for a memorable gift. read more

BLACK DIRT FLOATING IN TANGERINE JUICE Bought the $8.95 half gallon of tangerine juice with an expiration date of 3.21 (purchased on 3.7). Drove the 30 minutes back home just to see there is black dirt/mold/dust floating all over the container. Called the store hoping they had an answer to what it was just to get a very unsure staff member who says "it may be debris from the peel." They offered I return for a refund however I live to far to make it worth that. My guess is it is mold from a juicer that isn't cleaned regularly. Besides that the orange vanilla swirl ice cream was yummy but I won't be rushing back. Be sure to check your containers before purchasing. read more

Stopped into Yellow Banks Groves to browse around and it was very nice!! The entire store is perfect "Old Florida" style!! They have lots of souvenirs, candy, taffy, honey, sauces, fresh squeezed citrus juices, local honey and more!!! Also, have cirrus shipping deals which is cool!! We had their orange/vanilla soft serve swirl ice cream which is made from real orange juice. Definitely recommend getting that if you're visiting the area!! Finally made my way down for their orange creamsicle soft serve and it did not disappoint!!! It was tarte and sweet. Reminds me of my childhood. The store is nostalgic and old world Florida. They have all the Florida tourist goodies from jams, candies, to shells, gator heads, etc. such a fun and old feel inside. We got a pint of the creamsicle to take home aling with a couple honey bell oranges & orange candy. I can't wait to come back. This place is so quaint! They are known for their Orange and vanilla swirl ice cream. Looked delicious but I was there to early for ice cream ;) I have been here once before and purchased their salt water taffy, and I am back in town and was back for more. They have about 20 flavors to choose from. I also purchased a bottle key line salsa to bring home. They have fresh fruits, Florida trinkets and souvenirs, homemade pies and more. As a non-native Floridian, I love this little glimpse into the Florida of the past. Kitschy tourist gifts, salt water taffy, local goods, and ohhhh the citrus. We made a random stop on the way to the beach and I can't believe we waited so long! Had to have the orange vanilla swirl soft serve they are so known for and it did not disappoint. Got tangerine and orange juice, honeybell marmalade, nuts, and taffies and enjoyed them all! Don't go here expecting shiny and new, this is nostalgia and old Florida greatness. Wow! I havent reviewed YBG in eight years? We go all the time for their amazingly intensely-orange orange-juice soft-serve, usually in a twist with vanilla on a cone. So refreshing! So orange you wont even notice how incredibly sweet it is! Anyway, on a visit in March (2025) with visiting relatives, we sat outside next to the cute cartoon murals in the parking lot, on some benches shaded in the afternoon, happily dripping with orange and white. Then we bought this huge bucket for the fridge for our relatives' airbnb, which didn't last the week with 20 relatives :-). And we grabbed some of their season's-best fresh-made Honeybell marmalade (probably not available later than March). Do please note: Remind travelers to pack the marmalade in checked bags, TSA cant let it through in their carry-ons. read more

In baskets on the table when you first walk in are about 20 flavors of salt water taffy.......grab a bag and toss them in, and then try to remember what flavors you chose when you dig in the bag later. They also have a big range of jellies and marmalades and the usual seashore tchotchkes - alligators, pelicans, crabs, etc.. Also an EXCELLENT selection of humorous and edgy greeting cards. Don't buy the orange juice. It is twice as bitter as the already untolerable sample oj at the counter. We had store bought o.j. this morning that we did not like and my wife mentioned this place she had gone to several years ago. Sorry we went. The oj at home was better and 1/3 of the cost. How does this place stay open? The orange cones were good, but to have a place based on oranges and the orange juice, at almost 4 bucks a pint and tasting horrible, wow! Just, wow! My wife told me to try it after she took a sip. I asked if it tasted good. She said try it. She laughed when she saw my face. I guess she wanted me to suffer also. Driving to the beach this place caught my eye! They have fun decor and inviting signs outside. We were in search of orange and cream soft serve and Yellow Banks Groves fit the bill. I liked that the two flavors of the swirl complimented each other nicely. The orange was a little on the tart side and the texture was more icy while the vanilla was creamy and sweet. The prices seemed a little high, for instance $3.25 for a small orange juice but I understand that you pay a premium for fresh squeezed juice and I'm guessing they mostly sell ice cream cones. This was a fun place to stop. read more

A treat within a treat! We came for the ice cream, and stayed to wander around the souvenir shop. There are plenty of touristy places in Florida, but this is the first I've seen with a dozen saltwater taffy flavors next to a manatee clock. The ice cream is a MUST. THEY OPEN AT 10:00AM! We were immediately told this after entering at 9:50am, because the door was unlocked. We are from Fort Lauderdale and drove half an hour out of the way on our route back home. We found this place on TikTok and were excited to try the soft serve. We could look around but checked out after 10. The other workers were helpful, kind and considerate until we were met with an annoyed lady at the register. She seemed annoyed because we thought they opened at 9:00am (but that is what's advertised online) She was not friendly and it felt like we were being pressured to leave. With attitude she said "I'm just trying to get my work done". The ice cream was amazing! But we felt uncomfortable and unwelcomed after leaving. I'm hesitant to return. read more

Sometimes you just need a treat after a hot day on the beach. Yellow Banks Groves is the nearest soft serve place from the beach that can (maybe) provide that relief. They carry many tourist focused food products such as oranges, jams, candies, but their highlight is the orange juice and the soft serve ice cream. The reason that I'm giving it 3 stars is because the prices have gone up considerably in the last year or so. Before you say "this is old news as prices have gone up everywhere,' consider this: have the cost of oranges really gone up to demand almost a 50% cost increase? In addition, they stay open for a longer season now than they used to so I think their is extra income coming in just because of that. The thing that is even more frustrating is that sometimes the orange juice and the orange soft serve is way too tart because of a bad crop of tart oranges. This is something that they do not tell you before buying. We have had to throw away $12+ worth of orange juice because of this. Of course, if you're a tourist, you won't care about any of the above. However, for locals, it's hard for me to recommend this place anymore. read more

The produce they carry has been sitting for a bit and the building itself has seen better days. Guarantee you'll see elderly couples outside enjoying ice-cream together, my grandma loves it here. This has been my coveted place to get grapefruit since I was a little girl. My great grandma was crazy about grapefruit and came here weekly to get her weeks worth of grapefruit. We would also get some of their out-of-this-world fresh "orange juice ice cream" (That's what we call it). I would enjoy it while I oogled all the "Florida treasures" for sale and my great grandma chatted with the owner. My great grandma is now gone, and I'm back and forth between Florida and Indiana often to help my grandparents. The first morning I'm here, I stop for my grapefruit and honey on the way home from the beach. I'm sure it's a little bit of nastalgia, but I always feel so excited when I pull in. They offer lots of good local stuff. Trinkets even and seashells. One of my girlfriends insist that I bring their grapefruit juice back to Indiana every trip. Sometimes taffy for other friends. I've noticed various types of specialty candies and other odds and ends. But I'm there for my grapefruit and the amazing local honey. They have a variety of flavored honey and even jellies. (Also very delicious.) But I like the regular honey from local bees that have fed on the orange blossoms. I'm a big fan of teas, especially hot citrus teas, and honey is my go-to sweeter. This stuff is my absolute, all time fav. Even in just hot green tea, you can taste a hint of citrus. I see the owner in there often, which really tickles me. He's close to my great grandmother's age and clearly still sharp and active. Kind, warm hearted and chatty if you strike up a conversation with him. His employees have always, always been very kind, friendly and welcoming, all thru the years. They often hand me a little sample cup of my beloved "orange juice ice cream," if I'm not buying some. We typically like to stop in on our way home from the beach, later in the day, for their ice cream. You do have to whip a Uie, if you're driving back from the beach. But luckily that's legal here. They also require you to spend at least $10 to use a debit/charge card. My grapefruit and honey addiction makes that no problem for me! read more

They ship very poor quality fruit. Customer service is rude and directed me to just fill it the postcard and mail it. They should have been able to take the information over the phone and could have been more polite. Appreciate the the sentiment from the the sender, my parents, but instructed them to never ship from Yellow Grove again. I sent them the post card, we will see if they re ship better quality fruit and I will update this review. It's not often one gets to visit a place that feels like a genuine time-warp, but it happened to me here! YBGroves is a true snapshot-in-time of stores that were once all over Florida, from the 50s through the 70s and beyond. Do you remember the long-extinct "Orange Blossom Groves" stores that were once in Seminole and Clearwater? This is a smaller, but near-exact clone! Think fresh juice, saltwater taffy, jams/jellies, rubber alligators, shell-laden trinkets, and FL citrus-based almost everything. Just like old Orange Blossom, the fan favorite here is the soft serve Orange/Vanilla swirl cone. One bite and I was reminded of fond memories of when my Grandma and I enjoyed them when I was a little kid! Yellow Banks Groves is a hidden treasure of retro Florida citrus kitsch.
