Yellowbird music is the absolute best! My oldest daughter is 5 and youngest daughter is 2.5! They both started at 5 months and love love LOVE IT-since day 1. Alex is an incredible teacher- so warm, creative, talented, and so amazing with all age kids. I also have had the pleasure of Sarah being a teacher, and she's equally fabulous. My son is an only child and has few friends or play dates as we have 3 homes and travel a great deal. My son was confused and did not really know how to participate. Instead of Alex or her co-workers dismissing my son they were attentive and attempted many times to figure out how to engage him and have him interact, which they accomplished quickly! Alex has YellowBird filled with love, various instruments toys and a beautiful facility to teach children about music but have them interact and okay well and music with others! Alex caters to each child's individual needs although it is a public group. Alex will phone and communicate about your child and always has dialogue in process. My son who felt so uncomfortable now when walks by YellowBird with his Au pair starts to cry of attempts to go into Yellow Bird as he lives her and his classes so much. We have been on break and this ha been hard for him although now we are doing group music at home and replicating what Alex creates. Alex is a professional musician and even the music and CD Into The Jungle was done by she so this is completely catering for your child and various ages. I have been to numerous music groups and this is by far the most professional, educational and love filled safe space. Alex knows what she is teaching, how to interact with children and I am a social worker. I cannot recommend YellowBird enough for any age private of group. As a parent of a bilingual two year old, i'm always looking for fun activities we can do together in Spanish. Alex of yellowbird has an amazing spanish music class called pajaritos. We sing mostly in spanish and lyrics are also on the wall. You don't have to be bilingual to attend. The music classes in english are also really fun. Yellowbird has an awesome selection of instruments and hands on activities to keep most active toddlers focused. We sing, dance, jump, slide etc... It's a great way to be with other adults too. There is parking in the back and i can usually find a spot. Classes fill fast so if you see a class, i def rec reserving your spot. read more

We have a 4 year old son and we have been bringing him to YB since we moved here last year. We could not be happier. But most importantly, our son couldn't be any happier as well. My son was introduced to YellowBird music before he could even sit up on his own. Even back then with me holding him and us rocking out to the music, I could tell he loved it! I waited a few more months to enroll him and he has been a groupie ever since. Not only does my son sing the songs at home, but he has a huge crush on the awesome teacher, Alex. I am serious. He barely pays any attention to me during class and always tries to get Alex to snuggle with him during rest time...if only Alex lived with us! Actually I invoke the power of Alex often at home and ask my almost 3 year old who is prone to temper tantrums, "What would Miss Alex think of that behavior?" or "Would Miss Alex allow you to treat your instruments...toys...(insert whatever you need here...) like that?" I also sing the 'it's fun to help clean up' song multiple times a day...I usually try to enroll him in the 10:30am classes so that he falls asleep on the way home since I put the YB CD lullaby songs on repeat and I am THAT mom cruising around SB not going the speed limit so my kid will fall asleep and maybe I can take one too! I can't say enough great things about Alex. I just love her and so does my almost 3 year old. My 13 week old is already a regular and I will absolutely enroll him too, once he can sit up! read more

Alex and her team are fantastic w/ children. The classes have a wonderful rhythm to them and our daughter adores every minute she spends at YBM. We always have a Yellow Bird Music CD in our CD player and our daughter loves to sing along. The classes have a variety of activities wrapped around a musical theme. The classes encourage developmental and social skills that have been extremely valuable to our family. Best yet - each session has a new instrument that the child is given and learns to play.
