My mother would call for help and no one would come. I hired a person to come sit with my mom and they found a way to kick her out of the building because she was bringing up issues of negligence to attention. I was traveling and a friend stopped by to see my mom. She called me hysterical because my mom was in her urine and feces . I have photos of this happening TWICE. But the worst part is my mother had been complaining of pain in her leg. I asked the staff to do an x-ray. They never did. After my friends call I took my mother out in 24 hours and put her in a 4 bedroom home. They proactively did the xrays and determined my mom fractured her hip. That is a death sentence. My mother told me she tried to get up to go to the bathroom after waiting forever, and she fell. She was #&#(#(@ BLIND!! How hard is it to help someone to the bathroom??? I guess to Tucker Wellness, it was worth letting her die. I had few options for my mother as she was on Medicaid. In hindsight I should have not gone back to work and just let everything go financially to keep my mother alive. It wasn't worth it. My mother died in pain. She passed away last month and upon reflection of our time there, I have to say this community is wonderful and I love and respect the people who run this facility. We moved my mom from another assisted living place that we were not fond of. Lindsey (activities director) is phenomenal! She plans interesting activities inside the complex as well as taking residents out into the community as well. My mom has gone to get manicures and pedicures, lunches, plays, local stores, and just going on "joy rides" to see Christmas lights. My mom LOVED Lindsey. As time went on and my mom didn't want to take her medicine, Lindsey would come to the rescue and always got my mom to take it if I wasn't around. She is super creative in facilitating different activities within the complex too. Heather, the nurse has been great as well. As my mom began to deteriorate, Heather was always there to help me with any questions and to give me the mental support that I needed. She guided me and help me to make all the arrangements for mom to come home to Prema from the hospital at the end. (And my mom did want to go home from the hospital.) She was always available to me and never was short or impatient with me. Heather the director is also a sweet and loving lady. She brings her two dogs to work and my mom and I loved seeing them. She always would see me if I had any questions from billing to personnel. As she has said to me once, "I got you." and she always did. Even Shawn who works at the front desk (after being promoted) would go check on my mom. As well as Shawn and Phoebe (the dynamic duo) who took such good care to my mom on a daily and weekly basis. My mom was able to do her physical and occupational therapy on site as well. My mom was a "faller" and the Prema team did so many wonderful things to keep her on her feet in lieu of a wheelchair. She stayed on her feet almost to the end. Keon, Ebony and Oliver, are amazing. The other residents are also very friendly and open. Mom developed a very special friendship with another lady and they would sit and talk or sometimes just sit and watch people come in and out for hours or until the next activity! :) Thank you Prema at Ashton Hill for being such an important and wonderful part of my mom's life as well as my own. My husband and I always say that when our time comes we will be checking into Prema too!

However, I received written correspondence faulting me for a busy schedule and other untruthful allegations about missing appointments. They never inquired about recent injuries keeping me from PT. If you schedule an appointment you need to tell the patient and not note cancelled in their patient portal when they weren't aware of some of the appointments due to a miscommunication error. It didn't warrant the action taken. I've received a great deal of care denial with this healthcare system, so I shouldn't be surprised.

This review is of the Woodruff Family Housing at The Shepard Center in Atlanta, GA, for their…read moreoutpatient patient and patient families. This is mainly for informational purposes. We are staying here while my husband rehabilitates at Pathways. Before coming here, I searched everywhere for pictures of the housing so I would know how to prepare. The building is older but serves its purpose well. You'll need to bring cleaning products including a vacuum, mop, bucket, etc. This particular unit had a few of these items but we had to move rooms and the next one did not; be prepared for them to not be available. The kitchen is stocked pretty well although, ours needed measuring cups, spoons, mixing bowls, mixer, and kitchen towels. The refrigerator is full sized but, on the smaller side. There is an ice-maker. There is a standard coffee maker, no k-cups, only ground. There is a microwave and our kitchen happened to have a crockpot, although the first room did not. The hot water takes forever to heat up so run the water for about 15 minutes before stepping inside to shower. They will gladly provide you with any medical needs you may have such as a shower chair, lifted toilet, etc. The towels and washcloths are a step below a hotel and SMALL. My husband found them too rough for his sensitivities. Myself, I thought they did a great job exfoliating, so just your preference. We ending up buying some and made our stay more comfortable. Bedrooms have two twin beds OR one twin bed and one hospital bed. Please confirm with your case worker what your needs are!! Bring blankets and mattress toppers for your comfort. The beds aren't the most comfortable but will suffice; they remind me of dorm room beds. We brought a king sized tri-fold topper, pushed the two twin beds together and made a king sized bed. Obviously this required us to bring our own bedding but completely worth it to us. Hey, if we are going to be here a while, let's make it comfortable!! Keep in mind they can't take donated mattresses when you're done so either meet a neighbor who would appreciate it or be prepared to leave with it once it has expanded. Trash bins are on the ground floor through the parking lot. At night it's dark. The first time I chose to bring mine back in since it was a good walk in the dark and there was a running, white van parked nearby. Hey, I've seen what happens in the movies!! Lots of renovating/construction going on but they are doing an adequate job of rerouting you with very little inconvenience. Security is very friendly and helpful. There is a secured parking garage. You have to have a key card to access the garage, your floor, and your room. There's plenty of handicap parking right by the door of each floor. There is a mailroom. If you're ordering Amazon, I recommend the Amazon Lockers located about a mile or less down the street. There is a delay from the mailroom (I am on day 4 of packages I know have been delivered) and they are not there but a VERY limited time on weekends. They do bring your mail to your room and if you are out, they open the door and place it and any packages just inside on the kitchen table. Very convenient and takes any worry away of your packages sitting out. Be patient .. I was told many are volunteers. Internet is okay at best. The TVs are smart TVs so your apps are available. There is a TV in the living room and bedroom. There is a laundry room on each floor. Keep in mind you can only access your floor. There are 2 washers and 2 dryers. They actually provide the detergent. It's an off brand powder and obviously you can bring your own, as we did. I have not seen any fabric softener so you'll need to bring your own either way. There is a floor downstairs that has couches, games, movies, etc.. Should you need the Shepherd Center or want to utilize their cafeteria, there is a walkway located in the garage area. You are only outside of the building/inside the garage for a very brief walk. The Shepherd Center also sponsors a Family Dinner every Tuesday night at 5:00. The food is furnished by local restaurants and local people that generously donate. It's FREE! Afterwards, they play several rounds of bingo with generous prizes. Mrs. Shepherd, herself, attends almost every meal. She is the very elegant lady on her motorized cart assuring everyone's needs are tended to. Should you need Piedmont Hospital during your stay, if capable, I recommend walking there. It's less than an 8 minute walk. Piedmont makes you pay for parking every single time you leave the hospital. I think the first 30 minutes are free but, then it's $7-$10 according to your stay. I walked every time of day, from very early morning, midday, and late a night and felt very safe every time. I hope that you find this information helpful for your stay! Had a fantastic outing on my own yesterday using Uber and meeting up with friends. A reprieve from this living hell. You are not allowed to restrain patients, etc. but Friday night another patient who was in her own distress was in the hall screaming for hours. I always felt safe here until then when she was literally 5 feet from our room and my back was to her as I tried to eat my salad at 9 pm. I made a blockade with my wheelchair and ice cart and put keys to make noise if anyone entered. Talk about our own version of "Home Alone" and an absolute fire and safety hazard to have things in our way if we needed to get out. This brings up another interesting point. Is there enough staff to evacuate all the clients in an emergency. I can answer that. ABSOLUTELY NOT! Damn it takes 2-3 for patients to be in line for the hoyer lift. Will you roll everyone out in their beds with or without oxygen and legally not have any side rails to protect oneself? Where does one begin when they're not even worthy of 1 star. Call this place "Hotel California" and let your imagination run! Meds are never right or on hand. Are you kidding me? It's a battle every single night trying to ensure my medicine is correct. Tonight two were not available and after my rant and rave to them and my son, it mysteriously appeared. It's a constant BS story. Last night the person handing meds out knew nothing about my most critical medicine. I had her triple check and argue with me. Pretty incredible when I threw the generic name out she said "oh yeah I have that". Then why the hell did you not give it to me? It is not as needed. It is my overall health and well being here. Let's talk about the absolute lies and stories they give you. It's not even overpromising and underdelivering, it's simply every time you turn around it's underdelivering. The food Labor Day weekend was hamburger, hamburger, hotdog, and a very dead grilled cheese. That was 4 meals. I had to switch to chef salads for the remainder of my time here. Everyone is a gatekeeper and the can just keeps getting kicked and no one seems to know how to get things done. If you want a facility that all you're worried about is rehab and not overall care come here but know you've sold your loved one or yourself to the devil so the bastard who owns this and the administrator all look good and the ROI is what ultimately counts. Patient care and attentiveness is last on the list.What about the several floods that have happened? Hmmmm let's throw towels down on the floor and step around the 10'x10' mini (pictures) . Where is this water coming from? They probably won't tell you the truth but I'll tell you without a doubt there's black mold and the air quality is awful. I honestly can't say anything good about this place. Precious is one of the techs and the name absolutely suits her. She's a queen at her job but the only one out of how many? I told 3 employees the night before a doctors appointment. Communication at its worst. You're better using two cans and a string to get a message across. I initially meet with Chelsea and she did my sons evaluation, she was pleasant, professional, and informative. Once the evaluation was completed she informed me that she would have my son see Ms. Dina because she believe that she would be a good fit for my son. Upon meeting with Ms. Dina I had some reservation because she expect no nonsense from my son, and I am a mother that wants to shield her son from the world. I will say it is coming up to one year since my son has been going to Divine and he has flourished, he is a different person, he is using sentences, he is engaged, he knows how to share, and play with others. The speech has done a one hundred and eighty degree turn. I will say Ms. Dina was the right person for him, she is amazing. I would recommend anyone to go and see Ms. Dina. She is stern, but kind. She continues to learn to perfect her craft by continuing her education. I am impressed by her. My interaction with Chelsea has also been good. She shares information with me on my sons condition and will offer suggestions. I will say everyone's experience will always be different. Trust your gut and do what is right for YOUR family. the best speech therapy place i could have ever taken my children, after multiple therapist told me…read moremy children were not teachable and this is just how they would be, divine speech continously gives me hope every session and i just honestly love them it feels like family going to them my kids love them, I've never encountered any unprofessional behavior from them , when I was referred to them from my kids doctor , divine speech told me they had a long waiting list which I was truly disappointed but staff ensured me that if I got my paperwork in immediately she would work with me, I got my paperwork back the very next day I don't play about getting any ounce of help for my kids to be successful im just blessed & truly thankful to ever have found this place Ms Chelsea is so kind and informative even if she has told you the information before she's going to tell you again to ensure us as parents that we understand. She also gave me homework to work with my baby and show me how to practice with him, I've never had this experience and we've been doing speech with other agencies for 9 years. And never ever gotten homework! . I personally thank you Divine Speech you guys are awesome and nothing but good vibes when I met you guys
