Under no circumstances take a cab from the train station without checking Lyft and Uber prices, and confirming they will take a credit card. I took a cab yesterday from the train station to Towson and the driver said $45, which seemed to high but I had no point of reference. At my destination I got my card out and he said it was cash only. I happened to to have cash because I was bringing cash to an elderly relative so I could use that, bit now I have to send her cash through the mail. To top it off I ordered Lyft the other way and it cost HALF! Moral of the story, don't get in a cab in Baltimore without checking Lyft and Uber and make sure they take cards. I had been prepared to give the cab driver a 20% tip too even on the ridiculous price but I gave zero tip when he said it had to be cash, and I also feel really great about that. I only wish I had thought to get the name of the cab driver. I work for a national company and I look forward to posting this info on our Baltimore bulletin board so everyone knows to avoid ztrip / cabs and can advise their clients against it too! And also everyone who travels there for business. I also go there about once a month and I will be getting a Lyft and ignoring the taxi stand from here on out. Terrible. Get the Uber app on your phone. I called for a cab an hour ago for elderly people and they never showed up. You can't talk to anybody there the only way you can talk to somebody is by making a fake reservation to get to a person. Communication is horrible. Avoid taking a cab at all costs. read more

I ordered taxi 24 hr prior to train departure, confirmed 12 later the order and nobody came on the scheduled day. I will never use this company again!! They took a phone reservation more than 12 hours before the cab was needed but did not send someone at the requested time. It was almost impossible to talk to a live person, and was impossible to reach a supervisor for help. Longer version: I needed to leave my car in the shop overnight, so I called Yellow Cab at 6:30 last night and made a reservation for a taxi to pick me up this morning at 7:20 to take me to work. I received a text confirmation with the correct time and address listed. But this morning, no taxi at that time. At 7:30 I called to find out when the cab would come. Got an automated message "We are still looking for a driver". Why would it take 13 hours (between when I made the reservation and when I called back because the reserved taxi hadn't show up) to find a driver?? There is nothing on the web site or on the phone automated system that says the reservation time is flexible and you might not be picked up because they didn't try to arrange it in advance based on when you call. Nothing that says to request a time at least an hour ahead of when you want them to come so that they might come when you want rather than when you asked for. When I called at 7:30 there was no option given for talking to a representative. "Press 1 for wait time" gave the message that they are still looking for a driver. I didn't try "Press 2 to cancel your request" or "Press 3 for accounting". I did use "Press 4 for estimated cost". After getting an automated answer for the cost there *was* an option to talk to a representative. I spoke with Madge who kept saying "We are looking for a driver." I asked whether they had tried to assign a driver last night when I called. "We are still looking for a driver". I asked whether they would give a discount due to the lateness and lack of ETA. "We are still looking for a driver". I asked to speak to a supervisor. She said they didn't have supervisors at the number I had called (410-685-1212) but gave me another number (410-727-7300). I called that number and got the exact same recorded options as were on the first number. No option given for talking to anyone. Ultimately I got a call directly from a driver. He told me he would be there in 6-7 minutes. Then I got an automated call from Yellow Cab saying someone would be there in 11 minutes. When the driver did come, he told me he had just seen the listing and accepted it. So apparently there is no dispatcher contacting drivers or coordinating requests. I had chosen to go through a taxi company instead of Uber because supposedly we can make reservations through the company while Uber is dependent on who is in your neighborhood and agrees to take a ride (no advance planning). But according to this driver, the system is just like Uber - they see requests at the time they are needed. I was late for work because they didn't honor the time on the reservation, but this would be even worse if it were for a medical appointment or for a train, bus, or airplane trip. I received a request to rate the driver and I did rate him highly, but there was no option to rate the dispatch process or the phone system or to put any comments. read more

Hate to say it, but these guys are awful. Left me waiting on a corner for 45 minutes after being assured that my cab was about to arrive not once but twice. There was no apology from the dispatcher when I called to ask where my taxi was, and the second so-called driver called to yell at me, accusing me of giving the wrong address. Why would I have done that -- I wanted a ride, dummy! He said he would not be coming for me, which was actually a relief since I wouldn't want to deal with such a jackass in person. I tried to call dispatch again, but the representative seemed unable to hear me even though I had full bars on my phone and hadn't had such a problem during my two previous calls to them. She promptly hung up. This terrible experience has turned me off of taxis for good, even though I've been championing them over the ride-hailing services up to now. So I went inside the bar I'd been standing outside of -- The Corner in Hampden, if you want to know -- ordered a Montenegro rocks and downloaded the Lyft app. In the time it took me to down my drink (three minutes), my delightful driver was there and ready to go. Her timely arrival even saved me from being badgered by a panhandler, who had helpfully pointed out the location of the nearest ATM... thanks anyway. read more

I would give zero stars, if that was an option. I called them to book an accessible van taxi from the train station to a hotel for me and my 8 year old. They never showed up. I called back and said no one was available. On my way out of town, I had my hotel help set up an accessible van back to the train station. It was booked more than a day ahead of time. There's one word that comes to my mind when thinking of this company, terrible. Absolutely terrible. My mother and I take a cab to Safeway on Boston Street once a month to load up on groceries, simply because our local market has become untrustworthy in regards to their products. Since the beginning of this year, getting a cab in a timely manner has fallen completely by the waste side. More times than not, the cab is either an hour late or they're "still looking for a cab" to pick us up. Last month at the end of our shopping trip, my mother called for a cab and we sat outside. It took almost 2 hours for a cab to finally come pick us up. 2 days ago, we were at Safeway, once again outside waiting and it took over 3 hours for them to "find a cab." By the time the cab driver pulled up, I had already gotten on my phone, found another taxi service and called them for pickup. The cab service I called didn't even take half an hour to come pick us up and the driver was extremely polite, who also helped us carry our groceries in the house. Unlike the driver who dropped us off at Safeway that morning from Yellow Cab who wasn't even wearing a mask when we entered his car (luckily, we were wearing ours.) I won't bad mouth all of the cab drivers because we have had a few who left us feeling extremely grateful. When I had fibroid surgery at the end of May 2019, there was a wonderful Pakistani male driver who not only took us to my surgery location but picked us up when we were stranded there because no other cab would pick us up. (He had given my mom his personal number and told her to call him if she ever needed him for pick ups. He was working that evening and after dropping off another customer, he came right to the hospital to pick us up.) We've had drivers who will help us with our groceries, who will wait for us during a round trip and drivers who made us laugh with their conversation. However, due to the recent experience, my mother and I have vowed to not use Yellow Cab any longer. For a company that boasts about having almost a fleet of 600 cabs to serve the people, I'm still questioning that exaggeration. Also; some of your drivers aren't as slick as they think. I said no because I know it's not that much. Told him run the meter. So we start arguing and he stops and tells me to get out and I say no why do I have to. He opens his door and comes to my side of the cab to open the door. I lock it so he goes back and unlocks the door and walks back to my side so I get out and we start arguing outside the cab. I needed a cab when I was discharged from the hospital yesterday. I was provided a cab voucher for Yellow Cab because the attending physician suggested that I not drive home. I left my car in the hospital garage. The hospital transport helped me with calling Yellow Cab to pick me up, but all I got was a continuous loop, no one or thing ever actually took the call. The hospital transport worker converted my Yellow Cab voucher to Uber and I finally got transported home. I called Yellow Cab to take me back to the hospital today so that I could retrieve my car. I called Yellow Cab starting 10:30 am this morning and booked a cab and guess what? I never got a cab! I received periodic automated call backs saying a cab was on the way. After about 21/2 hours I called again and actually chose prompt 4 to speak with an operator. She took the same info including the cross street of my address, nothing! How in the world do you run a successful business with such extraordinarily bad service? read more

HORRIBLE!!!! I called 6 times to get a cab, 4 of which the dispatchers admitted never showed. When I got in touch with the manager, she stated, point-blank, that if one of their scheduled cabs gets hailed on the way to an appointment, they'll ditch the appointment and take whoever. Then, the manager, without any cursing or rudeness on my part, proceeded to hang up on me. I called back twice, simply asking for the her name and id#, and they hung up on me again. Absolutely appalled. This isn't the first time I've used them. They consistently pull this crap. Failed pickups, whether they dont like your destination, or because someone hails them on the way, hostile staff, refusal to take people based on distance, even race (multiple friends reported this to me)... Yellow Cab is reliably unreliable. I've used Yellow Cab three times to go from Canton to Penn Station to catch an early train to NY at 5:35am. Each time, I called the night before to reserve a taxi for the morning. The first two times, the driver arrived 5 minutes late. For the third trip, I asked to be picked up at 5:00 on the dot. 5:05 rolled around and I called to ask about my taxi. I called again at 5:10. And again at 5:17. At which point, I was fairly certain that I'd miss my train and would need to take the more expensive ($75 more expensive) 6:13 train instead. I asked the dispatcher how to go about getting a refund for the additional $75 I was now going to have to pay for the train ticket since I was going to miss my train. She informed me that they don't give refunds because they don't take reservations. I said that they took my reservation last night. She reiterated that they don't take reservations and they don't guarantee a pick-up time. I said that if they don't take reservations, then why did they take my reservation last night? Then she hung up on me. The cab arrived at 5:18. To be a decent taxi company, you really only need to do two things right: 1. Arrive on time 2. Drive safely. That said, if you don't need to be anywhere at a particular time, I highly recommend Yellow Cab. They have passable vehicles that will get you from point A to point B eventually. But, if like most people who need a taxi, you need to be somewhere by a specific time, I'd suggest calling one of Yellow Taxi's dozens of competitors who will gladly take a reservation for a car, and pick you up when you ask them to. read more

I was just about ran off the road this morning by driver 998 (taxi van) because I apparently failed to respond to a green light fast enough. The driver followed me until my next stop and then accosted and threatened me. When I told the driver I would report him, he stated "I run this shit," and then drove away (through a red light). After that encounter, I'll never grab a ride with this company again. Just another reason for me to dislike cab companies in general. (Update) After posting my review, a member of the administrative staff reached out to me in an effort to correct the incident mentioned above. The individual displayed an immense amount of respect and professionalism, and I was very impressed at the quick response I received. I have to say that I'm rather surprised to see such professionalism from a cab company employee. Final takeaway, while their drivers may not be the best, they do appear to be one of the best, if not the best, cab company in the city of Baltimore. I'd give them half a star if it were possible. We live in the city so we often use them for trips to Canton and Fells Point. My biggest concern are the ghetto hoochie dispatchers and their supervisors. We called for a pickup on a corner because that was the easiest location and the dispatch hoochie ghetto welfare woman hung up on us after telling us to "just wait for a cab" . After calling back and speaking to a supervisor, she too hung up after telling us to 'just' wait'. It was only after a 3rd call that a polite, possibly educated woman told us that they do not pick up on corners and we would need to provide an address. This all occurred on a saturday at 1pm in Mt Vernon. This is the most unprofessional staff I have ever encountered in my life. These ghetto b1tches need to realize what customer service is and understand it is their job to dispatch and no act like they are high and mighty. I would avoid this company like a thug to water. Horrible! I'd give 0 stars if I could. Their cabs don't always come to my neighborhood, so it's always a crap shoot whether the cab driver will show up or not when I book a cab on line. I was 2 hours late to a meeting because the first cab driver didn't show, then i called the dispatcher who said that the cab has picked someone up at my address (clearly not at my address...), and I call several more time - the cab was "on the way...10 minutes away". 2 hours later, I finally got a cab to come. Additionally, they don't tell you this ANYWHERE on the Taxi Magic website, but if you book the cab on line, they will charge you an extra dollar. I only found this out today when my driver accosted me for not paying enough for the fare...I called the cab company to ask, and dispatcher very rudely told me, "yes, it is an extra dollar for ANY CALL." I wanted to clarify whether this was also applied to their on-line system and she just kept repeating in a very impatient manner, "any call, any call..." On Saturday, June 9, 2012, I called their dispatch at 7:15PM requesting a cab pick up at 8:45PM. I received thier automated text at 8:41PM that my cab had been dispatched. The taxi showed up at approximately 9:25PM. And when he arrived, he had picked up another fare, who was sitting in the front seat and then the driver asked if we minded sharing a cab. There were 4 of us in my party that were taking this cab, and after waiting an unbelievable amount of time, did not have time to wait for another taxi. So all 4 of us crammed into the back seat. I work at a bar and always take a cab home. Yes, tonight happens to be thanksgiving eve but seeing as I am in a similar line of service I figured I would not have a problem finding a way home. I tried to flag a cab home on the street, nothing. Walk to the train station, no cabs. I book a cab online, 45 minutes later- nothing. I try calling yellow cab , an hour passes, nothing. Finally on my third (technically fifth outside of yellow cab's abilities) try I am serviced. The only excuse I can think of is the cabs all neglected to call upon arrival but when it's 28 degrees outside and I have no guarantee upon arrival time I'll be damned if I wait outside my work place for a cab that may or may not come. i booked a Yellow Cab thru ztrip to get a 15 mile ride home from my job. Within 7 minutes or so the driver showed up and took me to my destination. Two days later, I booked a Yellow Cab thru ztrip, from the same location to the same destination. After 30 minutes I called to ask dispatch where my taxi was. I was told I already got picked up. I was put on hold for several minutes, and then told I was out of Yellow Cab's area... This makes no sense, as I just used this service, literally two days earlier. When I asked about this I was put on hold again, and eventually transferred to another cab company, who had me on hold and finally hung up on me. I called Yellow Cab back, only to go thru the same ordeal, and never told why I was picked up on Wednesday, but not Friday. Again I was put on hold, transferred, and hung up on... Never again! No more Yellow Cab or their associated companies. This is why Uber anf Lyft are putting cabs out of business, and I will help them! read more

The worst customer service ever. I made a reservation last night for a 6:45 am pickup today, trying to get to the train station while my car's in the shop. Here's how it went: - 6:50 am, no cab -- Called and was told by a very polite woman that they were "still trying" to get a driver to my house and they'd put the request back in. ("Trying"? Is there some kind of driver mutiny or do you all just not know how to plan ahead? I kept my mouth shut.) - 7:05 am, no cab; missed my train -- Called back and was told by an extremely rude woman that they have a new system and that a driver had to choose my address off a list, and that IF one did, they'd show up...But that I was welcome to find another means of transportation if I didn't like it. (Are you kidding me?! Would I be using this horrible company if I had a CHOICE?!) When I asked why they offered advance reservations if picking me up was totally optional, the woman actually said, "I don't know." Was told they'd put the request back through as a priority. - 7:20 am, no cab; missed a second train -- Called back and was told that no driver had even acknowledged my request, and that I should call back again if no cab had shown up in a few minutes. Was told they'd put the request back through as a priority. - 7:45 am, no cab, missed a third train and wouldn't have made it in time for a fourth -- I finally cancelled and arranged to work at home. News flash, Yellow Cab d-bags: If you're running a business, you don't take a bunch of orders, promise to fulfill them, and then leave it up to your employees to decide whether they feel like dealing with them. I don't even live in a particularly inconvenient place, but even if I did, you said you'd be there when apparently no one ever intended to try very hard. The entire system is totally absurd and I can't believe the ladies who answer the phones are even allowed to admit that's how they're running things. I briefly considered leaving two stars given that I've had neutral past experiences with this company, but no...It's not deserved. I did them more courtesy than they did me already when I called to cancel. I should've let the driver show up and waste his time sitting outside my house. Called for a cab on a Tuesday morning to Fells Point. 25 minutes later called for an update and was told one was on its way. 10 minutes later called back to be told the same thing. 10 minutes called again and demanded an ETA--I had a flight to catch. Dispatcher agreed wait was unreasonable and said she was sending another driver who would be there within minutes. Yup, in another 10 minutes called back and was told another few minutes. Then 2 cabs showed up within minutes of each other. I made my flight but did not appreciate the added stress. I would have been better off walking to a busy intersection and hailing one myself. On April 14th my wife and I took a taxi (car: #682, driver: Sharma Avinash) to a destination that was approximately 5 miles from our home and was charged $27 for the ride. Now we did take the I-95 tunnel which I was fine with except that the driver manually increased the meter by $1 while going through the tunnel and then charged us an additional $2 more for going through the tunnel after we got to the destination. Because I booked and paid for the cab via Ride Charge the driver did not believe me when I told him we had already paid, even though it clearly said it right there on his screen. Once he finally figured out what he was doing and that we had paid he said he needed to make a copy of my card, which is fine because I've had other cabbies do the same thing when using Ride Charge, but the next morning I had a 2nd charge on my card from Yellow Cab. On top of that I realized, about an hour after getting out of the cab, that the driver never gave me my card back. On the way home we took another Yellow Cab and even though we took a different, longer route and dropped off another fare that we shared the cab with the charge was only $17. When we talked to the 2nd driver about what had happed earlier she gave us the name of the supervisor, Roslyn Harris, and said we should call and complain about the 1st driver. The next day when I called Roslyn to complain not only did she not care she transferred me, while I was still talking to her, to someone that was supposed to help me with the double charge. As of today, April 27th, I have left 4 voicemails and still no one as called me back about the double charge. BTW, did you know that they charge an additional $1 if you call ahead of time to have a taxi pick you up? I think I'll walk next time. read more

We were not able to get any cab passing us (all of them had customers) so I called yellow cab after 20 min to get one on the street. Lady on the phone told me to waive for cab on the street and she immediately HUNGED UP on me. second call - talked to her supervisor - she actually YELLED AT ME and she HUNGED UP on me again. third call- tried to talk to the supervisor -(I think she saw my number, so she hunged up on me before even talking to me). so I called again and finally talked to another supervisor, but I wanted to talk to the manager, I was told that he is not available during the weekends so I will call on Monday and I will tell him about my experience with yellow cab customer service. Its very sad that company like that have such unprofessional customer service that needs a lot of training ( and if ladies working there dont like theirs jobs - pls stop being miserable and find something that you will enjoy). On the other hand, I'm not sure if all the driver are aware of the quality of their colleagues that suppose to help them get business. I hope that somebody from the management is reading these reviews as I'm not alone who had such a bad experiences. update: Monday : I tried to talk to the Manager ( I was told he is not available during the weekends) and I left him message, and asked him to return my call. I will wait till tomorrow... if not I will call him again ... Tuesday : I tried to reach a manager again... Left a message asking to return my call ... I will see what is going to happened ...... OK, so the same day, I got a call back from the call center manager ( he apologized l and promised that they are working on better customer service.) ... next time I will make sure that write down names and employee ID We can all hope that they will make some changes for all of us .... read more
