Every year I look forward to the Yellow Daisy Festival and this year was no different. The festival is a four day event. My family and I have been coming to the this festival for over 10 years now. So it's a tradition for us. This festival has been voted one of the top arts and craft shows in the nation. There's always music playing from bandsl One of my favorite booths to go to is the Bubba's Sweet Tea, I bought a tin mug years ago and bring it back every year for a refill of sweet tea for only a dollar. There's plenty booths that sell food and snacks. There's lots of things to see, unique crafts, scented handmade candles, handmade soaps wood crafts, etc. I've made friends with a few of the vendors, we may not remember each other's names but we definitely recognize each other from year to year. It's four days of wonderful fun, rain or shine it's going on. One of my favorite times is when it rained cats and dogs, it did not stop the fun one bit. There's plenty of well organized parking all over the park. Lots of police officers directing traffic. I feel very safe even though there's huge crowds of people everywhere. There are free shuttle busses transporting people to their cars the entire time. There's live music too! You can come here and load up on kettle popcorn, Greek gyros, ice cream and gifts for everyone! I can't wait til next year's festival. read more

This is my 4th trip to Yellow Daisy, but I never parked and got out. Traffic TERRIBLE, lots full, walk a mile or so just to get inside. Ridiculous set up. Why no shuttle service from Marriott on grounds. I paid a pretty penny to stay there over the weekend. I'm just going to pack up a day early and head back home to Chattanooga. Probably won't be trying this again!!! Other times parking was not an issue. read more

I heard so many great things about this festival and it is true the Yellow Daisy Festival is huge. The only issue is that there is just way too many people. If you dislike large crowds, you might be turned off visiting this festival. If you do not mind the large crowds and waiting about 45-60 minutes to get into the park, you will enjoy yourself. This year was their 47th Annual Yellow Daisy Festival. They have all types of cool arts and crafts, some of which is very reasonable in price. The food here is quite high, so consider eating before coming here, or bring food with you. On average you will spend about $10-18 for lunch here per person. I highly recommend coming to the festival before 11AM, though you are better off coming at 10AM when it opens. Things sell out fast, so don't come late. This is by far my favorite festival in the Atlanta area. There are vendors that come from all over the country and some local vendors also. There are all sorts of items, from jewelry to woodworking to clothing to food to decorative items to furniture and more. Yes, it's crowded. Come early. Will you have to wait to get into the park? Yes. One year it took us about 45 min to get in and park...this year it took maybe 15 min. But that's to be expected with a festival this large. I suggest wearing comfortable shoes--I walked 7 miles! Also, bring water or expect to pay $3 per bottle. There are food trucks and other food vendors--or you can bring some snacks if you don't want to purchase. read more

We enjoyed it, drove over from Al, stayed a few nights in the Park, festival has a large variety of good vendors, would have given it 5 stars but the music playing is not good, 80' music or something not so rockish would have been more enjoyable. Loved that Sonny's bar-b-que and chick-fil-a had a booth. Worth the drive. read more

NOT SO MUCH... This year I attended the Yellow Daisy Festival for the first time in approximately 12 years. I was hoping to see that it had really grown and had lots of great stuff to see and buy. I was a bit disappointed. My husband and I arrived very early so we were able to use the really cool restrooms that look as if they belong in someone's home. They were very clean and air conditioned. They also had the traditional outdoor facilities that you typically see at these events and the separate sinks. You will see the facilities off to your left as soon as you enter through the gates. You will want to start here before going further. The food dining area contained a number of options and there were covered tables for you to sit and dine in the shade. So once you leave this area, it's work. You will literally be walking up hill and around in circles for a couple of hours to see everything. This festival has a country, shabby chic vibe so if you are looking for something a bit more sophisticated, this is not your festival. There were quite a few vendors selling costume jewelry and homemade decor items. I was specifically interested in purchasing sterling silver jewelry which was quite challenging because there was literally one vendor selling silver. Lots of stainless steal and other cheap materials. I did purchase a really nice pair of malachite earrings but was a bit disappointed that he only sold pendants and earrings, no bracelets or rings. We attended on Friday morning and were there shortly after 9am but the festival actually starts at 10. We wanted to move around unimpeded because we know that this is a popular festival and would get busy quickly. Although we missed the entertainment portion of the festival that started later in the day we were fine because we were getting hot and were ready to head home. If you go, dress lightly and wear comfortable sandals and by all means, arrive early. Also, if you are on a serious shopping mission and will be purchasing larger pieces, you may consider taking a wagon for convenience. Happy Shopping! read more

My friend has a pass to Stone Mountain Park and invited me to come along. I am a festival fiend so I was very happy to. Traffic was heavy getting into the park by early afternoon. There are police directing traffic to a certain degree. Most of the lots were full so basically there were just telling people to keep going. But eventually traffic control ends and you are left on your own. We ended up going around the whole mountain trying to find a spot close enough. Once we got around almost to the beginning, my friend stopped and asked an officer with exasperation what we should do. She told us we could park in the grass off a nearby road. Thank goodness! We were close enough to walk to the festival, but they also provide shuttle service to many lots in the park. By the time we arrived, they were all out of bags. Bummer. We were able to get some free coupons and food samples though. A plus of this festival is how well organized and planned it is. I loved the maps throughout the festival. So helpful. There were a number of cute items, but nothing I really wanted. I only ended up buying food lol - an almond croissant and a King of Pops pop. I would revisit in a future year though. read more

Yellow Daisy Festival 2022. What a disappointment. Very different from some years ago when last attended. Few food vendors and majority of the merchandise vendors' prices were sky high. The entertainment was mediocre. Whoever runs this festival might want to consider "re-inventing" it. Seems to be on a downward spiral. Also $20 park entry fee....rip off. To be "charged" to spend money...doesn't make sense. All of the above may help explain the sparse crowd. BTW most of the YDF pictures posted on Yelp are from 2015/2016....go figure. read more

I just love this craft fair. You only have to pay to get into Stone Mountain but the festival is free and goes on all weekend. I love the stuff here! They have a fun section for kids. They can do fave pairing, glitter tattoos, play wth sand and create sand art. The food, clothes and crafts are awesome. If you think you'll be at Stone Mountain at least twice a year it makes sense to get the annual parking pass for like $45 or something. The country loving fair is held a few weeks later and then then also have that awesome Christmas set up. read more

Boo! Hiss! Worst festival ever!! Do not be fooled by the pictures of walking along the shaded trails & vendors showing their wares in the coolness of the tree canopy. Nope!! 2021 - it couldn't have been a response to the pandemic. All the vendors were on the paved street & parking lot outside the beautiful interior of the park. Shame on Stone Mountain!! I dare the the organizers post pictures of people sweltering in the hot sun with the heat rising for the pavement. If they plan to do it this way again, I'll be at home having a cold beverage. It seems funny that Yelp asks for pictures to be posted because there were signs everywhere that photos were not allowed. I suppose that was so the people melting in the heat would not be shown. read more

I've made the trip from California to Stone Mountain twice for this festival. It's just a lot of fun. Lots to see and a good family environment. This is where I was introduced to grits for the first time and now I eat them regularly. Such a variety of booths and wonderful innovative/creative ideas people have been able to share. I've purchased jewelry, ornaments, hair ties, clothing, fudge, garden items, etc... My sister lives in nearby Atlanta and when I can't make it out there, she always goes and picks up local grits and sends it to me...such a delight read more

I have been going to the Yellow Daisy Festival since I was a baby (over 30 years). I have always gone every year, and usually have a good time. The map and vendors are well laid out. The paths are all paved, so they are good for wheelchairs and strollers. (The booths, however, are NOT paved.) It is a very popular festival, so crowds are definitely going to be there. Best times to go are Thursday, mornings, after one o' clock, and sometimes Sunday. They get better food every year we go, but still keep the classics as well. (The Bayou Billy tea is the best deal! Get it!) You do have to pay to 'park,' so to enter Stone Mountain, you have to pay $15 (it keeps being raised every few years) and $40 for a year round pass. The hours were usually 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. on weekdays, longer on weekends. This year, they really upset me more than they ever have. Even though the hours state that they start at 10 A.M., if you arrived earlier, you could still meander and shop before the crowds. This year, they started CHARGING a fee to come in before 10 A.M. This is on top of your entrance fee. This has always been a free festival. It comes across very money-grubbing to ask patrons who are already coming to the festival to buy items to PAY for the privilege to buy their products. What's the incentive? Some free coffee, SOME vendors offering a discount....I guess less crowds since this was a very asinine idea that not many people were wanting to encourage. The line by 9:45 A.M. was at least 500 ft long, four people wide. It is simply ridiculous to make patrons looking to spend money on your festival wait in a long line like that. We, as customers, aren't looking to pay to go to your festival. FYI, there is not that much new stuff from year to year. There might be one or two new things that really stand out to me every year, and that is the only thing that brings me back every year. I feel like they need more variety or new blood. They had about 6 or 7 honey stands this year, which I thought was odd. Anyways, the short of it is, this is a great festival to go to if you have never been. Lots of vendors and neat things to see. The negative is their attempt to charge you to shop there, and the lack of new stuff from year to year. Would have been 5 stars, otherwise. I have gone to the yellow Daisy festival (YDF) for the past two years. It's a great festival! Many arts and crafts booths and food venders. So many in fact it's worth it to spend the weekend at the conveniently located stone mountain camp ground. They have a shuttle bus that's free that will take you from the campground or if you don't want to ruff it the Marriott hotel right down to the festival gates. The food and drink is a a little pricey, I usually take my camel back full of water, so far they haven't seemed to mind. This time we stayed in the yurts at the campground you can see my review on those on the campground Yelp page. The only fee to the festival is the 15 per vehicle to get onto the stone mountain property. The parking lots also have a free shuttle to take you to the gates if you decide not to stay. I recommend checking out the cheeky maiden soap booth she make some of the best hand made soap at a really great price. I buy some every year. If you really want to buy something but the price is way to high you can wait till the last day of the festival usually they have some great deals and bargains, but that is usually the busiest day. The traffic to get into the festival is pretty heavy but that's to be expected with a festival this large. If you want to "beat the crowd" come of the first day when gates open. read more
