We visited Yonah Mountain Vineyards on Father's Day to celebrate with my daughter--neither of us had been before. It was easy to find with plenty of parking, and although it looked like they were preparing for an event later that evening, everything was still open and running smoothly. The property was clean and well-kept, with live music set up and playing outside, which added to the atmosphere. We ordered at a counter. I chose the sweet selection and my daughter chose the white wine flight. Each flight included four 2 oz pours and cost $60 total. We were informed there was also a food truck on-site. We tried the pimento cheese dip and hummus platter--both were enjoyable, though a bit pricey (I don't recall the exact amounts). The vineyard has a large covered patio as well as another seating area with sun shades. Most tables were occupied, and several guests had brought their dogs, which added a relaxed, welcoming feel. While I enjoyed the overall experience, I did find the wines and food a bit on the expensive side, especially given the bottle prices listed on the tasting menu (ranging roughly from $36 to $75). I didn't end up purchasing any bottles for that reason. Overall, it was a pleasant visit and a nice way to spend Father's Day. I'd consider coming back again--possibly in the fall, and bringing my dog next time. read more

Stopped in for a tasting while the wife was antiquing. All the wine is produced by their estate grown grapes. Had the red flight, all were tasty. I bought a couple bottles of their cab and the wine glass came with the flight. I must have lucked out as the place was completely empty (this was a Tuesday afternoon). What could be better after a hike on beautiful Yonah Mountain than a visit to nearby Yonah Mountain Vineyards? A lot of things as it turned out. Although the setting is admittedly spectacular, acres of hilly vineyards with views of the mountain behind, and the patio was certainly fancy, the tables each with fire pits in the center providing cheery warmth, the tasting experience itself was sub-par and overpriced. It lacked the authentic feel I've seen in other wineries and seems more of a tourist destination. First thing I noticed is the shockingly high tasting fee of $35 for a flight of 4 2-ounce pours of their choice. No substitutions allowed! Either these are some spectacularly great wines or this is a major rip-off. I passed. But since I was here I decided to have a glass. I got one of their estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. It was around $16 but since I was here. It was good, but certainly not worth the $48 they charge for a bottle. For the $35 do you get individual attention, descriptions from the bartender about the wines and about their winery? No. You get 4 labeled glasses to take back to your table. Not worth it. Find another place less touristy, more authentic. That shouldn't be hard. There are like 65 wineries in the area! read more

Yonah Mountains Vineyards separates itself from the others by providing familiar wines such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay etc as opposed to the traditional Muscadine wines of the south. The wine itself is decent, but definitely not near the quality of the west coast wines, but all were enjoyable. I particularly liked their Genesis 12, a red wine blend, and their Viognier, an impressive white. Wine flights are around $60 with a choice between white, red, or mixed. Bottles run around $40-100. A little pricey for the product, but then again, it's the whole experience that you are buying, and it's money well spent. Yonah Mountain Vineyards strikes the perfect balance between classy and casual. You'll be just as comfortable in jeans as in a tux or a horrid bridesmaid dress. Cheers! read more

The venue is gorgeous for a wedding and I really enjoyed the outdoor areas. I would definitely come back. While the scenery and facilities were beautiful the wine itself was "mid" at best. I ordered the red wine flight and a large charcuterie board totaling $92 only for only one of the wines to actually be decent. The wine, flight consists of 4 wines and a souvenir wine glass. Of the 4, one tastes like flat coke and two were like drinking raw cowhide. I'm all for new strange "notes" in wine but this was like someone was taking dollar store wine and dumping in random essential oils. But yes, gorgeous views and the live music was nice. Also, the staff was nice but forever hiding inside since the tasting room was closed on a holiday weekend. I won't be back but it's nice to have experienced the spot and have an opinion on a tourist spot. read more

WINE NOT YONAH MOUNTAIN | YONAH Mountain Vineyards is probably my favorite North Georgia winery at the moment. My first visit was in the summer of 2022 and it was a good time. We got a Monday off for work on Juneteenth and we were thankful that it was open. Wine flights, full pours, gorgeous vineyard and mountain views, and a big gift shop to boot... what else can you ask for? The wine is all pretty tasty - we tasted several wines that day - I appreciated the wine glass being included in the flight - and you can pour each 2oz serving from your flight into your logo glass if you'd like, which is much better for photos. We had a big lunch before we arrived but definitely recommend bringing food if you're planning on drinking! Overall, from the gorgeous venue and views to the wide variety of tasty high quality wine, Yonah Mountain Vineyards is my favorite go-to winery in North Georgia! read more

We just got married here over the past weekend, and the entire experience was purely blissful and incredible. We worked with Arianna to reserve the venue and space, which was seamless and easy, but we wanted to specially shout out Kadie, our month-of-coordinator who was included with the venue packaging. Kadie was phenomenal, and made sure the entire day went incredibly smoothly with no mishaps. She was attentive, and everywhere, and it was easy to see she was an experienced veteran. I don't want to be too verbose, but there is just too much nice things to say about the venue and all the staff. All the YMV staff were also so friendly and helpful, and made sure that our day was absolutely perfect. Thank you all for such a wonderful, memorable day. We were also extremely blessed with wonderful weather (which I know isn't in the venue's control), but the venue is otherwordly beautiful, and their garden space, as well as reception hall/ballroom was absolutely perfect. My cousin got married here in May, and it was an absolutely stunning wedding and venue!! A beautiful drive, and easy to find. From the ceremony on the mountaintop surrounded by the vineyards and gorgeous blue ridge mountains, to the reception inside, everything was just beautiful. The staff was kind enough to give guests a ride up the "mountain" in a golf cart for the ceremony which was wonderful, especially for those of us in heels and with a baby in tow. The area up top was flat, and the sound/acoustics wasn't bad at all. Plenty of parking in the gravel lot below, but do note that they keep the restaurant open even when they have weddings going on. I'm sure if you paid enough $$, you could have the whole venue fully private, but it really wasn't an issue for my cousin and the guests. The restaurant closed early by the time the reception was starting anyways, but it was the Sunday before Memorial Day. The ballroom for the reception was very spacious and decorated beautifully with tons of uplighting, and there is a nice green space right outside perfect for a cocktail hour in between ceremony and reception. The staff throughout the whole evening was so kind and helpful, and my cousin had a great experience working with the vendors the venue recommends for catering, florals, etc. read more

If you are in the area and love wine, this place is a must try! My husband and I spent a week with family exploring north Georgia and this was our favorite stop along the way. This vineyard is expansive with plenty of inside or outside seating based on your preference. The wines are spectacular and we couldn't help but take several home. Wine and Georgia are generally not terms that go together. There is a good reason for it: the climate is unforgivingly terrible for growing most grape varietals. The extreme humidity and heat that does not let off even at night can destroy even the hardiest of grapes. Sure, there are some thick skinned local grapes like muscadines that survive here, but such wines are not exactly for everyone's taste. Due to these reasons, majority of the wine produced at this vineyard is from grapes that are sourced from California. There are many grapes also surrounding the winery and some of the wines produced from them are actually from those also. So how does the wine stack up? It's very solid. As a matter of fact, surprisingly so. Compared to some of the other Georgia wineries, the quality level here is noticeably higher. Several of the wines had a pleasant medium length finish with complexity that is unusual for production in the state. The location is quite spectacular, with a great view of Yonah mountain. Sadly, the architecting of this winery seems to have missed the key asset: the gorgeous mountain view. The best sights here are ruined by the huge parking lot. The outdoor tasting space is within the interior courtyard instead. Thus, it is somewhat disappointing that for a winery designed for tourism, as opposed to distribution, the design of the building and parking space was so poorly planned when all the potential is right there. Another area for improvement is the staff's education on wine and general interest in it. After having a couple brief conversations, it was clear that they have very little clue about what they are pouring. The self guided tasting is fine, but certainly misses the point of coming to a winery where you get to learn from those working there and get to know the people who produce it, even if visiting without a tour. In another contrast to Georgia wineries, the glassware used here is quality Reidel glasses, which is a bit diminished by the plastic cups in which the wine is brought when doing a tasting. There is a singer who stops by to entertain visitors with some pleasant tunes. Fire pits create a cozy vibe. A food truck is onsite with great food. Thus, when summarizing things as a whole, this is undoubtedly one of the best, if not the best, wineries in the state. read more

I went to this venue with someone who makes his living in the alcohol industry, including working for a distributor and wine importer. I had to agree that the wines at this vineyard were superior to those we had experienced earlier that day. I believe the vintners take their time, and the product shows it. The location and facility are great. The view, especially on a day with decent weather is wonderful. I have to say that the prices were a bit steep for me. The bottles without any discount were from the mid forties into the sixties. Nevertheless, as my father might have said, "it was good hooch". Always a good vibe when my hubby and here visit Yonah. We've been on the winery tour a couple of times over the past few years and it's always great, especially when the owner joins and tells his stories. The large outdoor patio is a nice place to relax, with fire pits and fans. They usually have food trucks in the weekends and also have basic charcuterie plates/boards. We joined the wine club a year or so ago and really enjoy all of their wines. read more

What a great experience! Yesterday, my boyfriend and I came to Yonah Mountain Vineyards. It was a long drive through small towns, with limited cell phone service, but we finally made it. We have started a new adventure of visiting different wineries together, and this was our third destination so far of many more. The ambiance of Yonah is very relaxing. They keep the space clean and comfortable, and the views are beautiful. For those who have human and fur babies--Yonah Mountain Vineyards seems to be both dog and child friendly. We saw other patrons bring their children as well as pets. What's also nice is that they allow you to set your own pace and the freedom to walk around the vineyard trails with your glass if you wish (of course not walking between the actual vineyard rows where the grapes grow). You are not relegated to a tasting room, unlike another vineyard we went to. They offer snacks, but we didn't order anything. We first did a wine tasting flight and then got one more glass after. My boyfriend did the red, and I did the white, and we shared them. Initially, I was going to get the mixed flight, but the gentleman working at the counter suggested we do one red and one white and he would throw in a bonus rosé. That's really what I wanted most from the mixed flight, other than trying both reds and whites, so he was right with his suggestion! That was very thoughtful and kind of him to do that for us. All of the wines were great, minus one I wasn't a fan of for being too sweet (the Elizabeth's Estate Chardonnay 2020). Our favorite was the Cab Franc, followed closely by the Genesis 11, for my boyfriend, and the Cuvée Rosé, for me. Our favorite white was the Sauvignon Blanc. Out of 5 wineries close to the area I've been to, so far this one is my favorite! Great wine, good views and great service. This is my second visit here and while I will say it's nice to go on a weekend, I liked my visit during the week better. They draw a bigger crowd on the weekends so only the outside available. During the week we were able to be inside the tasting room and got a super personal experience! After having a long conversation with the employees, they were very passionate about their wine and gave us some good tips for visiting other wineries in the area. They have wine flights/tastings. They even have a mixed wine flight which was great for me. They were more expensive and pricier but the quality of wine was better. If you like white our favorite was the stainless steel Chardonnay. Crisp and refreshing- perfect for summer. If you prefer red my favorite was the genesis. A great blend and not too full bodied! They tend to host events so a great place to take out of town visitors or even visit yourself. Their menu says they have snacks food (cheese plates) but they weren't serving any on our visit so don't come hungry. They might occasionally have food trucks with events. Pro tip- they sell their own salt scrub and it is LIFE changing. They have different scents (lavender, coconut and lemon). I love anything coconut so easy choice for me. Honestly not that impressed and most people in our group did not enjoy their tasting and for the astronomical price for a tasting that was not the best sign for sure. I think it wouldn't be bad to come here every once in awhile for the two wines we DID like and for the environment, but I wish we'd liked the rest of the wines! The young American rosé was my favorite from the flights we tried, but overall the cuvée rosé was my favorite wine available. Bring your own snacks and stay awhile because it's certainly a great place to hangout. Love the tables with the fire pits in the middle for cold days! Would have possibly given a 5-star review, but was not able to get a tour or experience the vineyard due to COVID closures. The inside portion was closed. Beautiful property, with a large outdoor patio with many fire pit tables and a large outdoor fireplace. They had no table service, you had to wait in line to get a glass of wine, or order a bottle. They were allowing people to bring their own coolers with food, and had a pizza oven food truck on-site. This would be a beautiful venue for a wedding or corporate event. read more

Wine bottle prices are $28 and up, with sales for BOGO on select items. Charcuterie platter and some other small bites available, as well as a Greek food truck on site. They have lots of outdoor seating, with views of the mountains. Andd fire tables to keep yah warm!!! My favorite on a chilly day. Met some awesome people here and had a really good time! What a beautiful winery! We came on a weekend during the Saharan dust storm so the views were a bit...dusty. But the views were still incredible for what we had to work with. We shared a few bottles of Chardonnay/Pinot Noir with friends. We also sampled the cheese/cracker plates too. Sadly it was during the pandemic so no flights were available, but the wine we did have was incredibly good! The Chardonnay was sweet with a crisp finish to it. The cheese plates were delicious with crackers, sharp cheddar, and some Dove chocolates. Im so glad we got to come and relax with beautiful views, a great venue, and fantastic wine! I would highly recommend trying this place out if your looking at Vineyards in the area! I look forward to coming back for the wine tour when the world has calmed down. read more

Nice place... there was construction going on last week (2-25-21)... they are improving the place. If you have something special planned, you might want to call ahead and see if the sound of machinery will be interrupting your special time. The wine was great. We had a Pino and their Signature Red... The grounds are quite large. There area is beautiful. Scenery may be nicer in the front, but the back also overlooks mountains and grape vines... Some local wineries have just a few vines, Yonah apparently grows the majority of their grapes. The facility os also large, with a meeting area that would house a huge crowd for something like a company meeting or a wedding. Outside there is ample seating broken up into maybe 5 separate areas. There is plenty of room to social distance. The staff is wearing masks and there is sanitizer at key locations. The place is quite clean... We felt completely safe. They don't offer meals, but that do have a cheese, prosciutto, and cracker snack pack for (I believe) $16... There is a huge amount of cheese in it. It's plenty for maybe 4 people. Two will likely take some home. Its more like a true California winery than most in the state, both in atmosphere and quality of wine. I recommend it and will be back with friends. read more
