Beehive Geyser. Located at the Old Faithful Inn area.

We decided in January that we were going to Yellowstone park. I started searching places to stay, etc. Social media said here's some suggestions! I clicked on something that led me to Yellowstone Wonders. I called the number and left a message for the dates we would be in the area in July. Mike called me back and I knew from the phone call that he was special. I booked 2 days with him. He used an "off" day to accommodate my family. We went on Wednesday and Friday because he had Thursday already booked. Over the next few months, he gave me suggestions at my request on places to stay and fishing guides. If I asked, he knew someone. I will say we witnessed his kindness to the park rangers and other locals. He was greeted with smiles and hugs and he even had treats for them! He picked us up at our rental at 5:30 in a Yukon XL. Of course he was early! We had 4 adults and a baby. He knew where the car seat would go so we could exit on the safety of the passenger side when getting out from the 3rd row. We never had to think because he was thinking for us. He was so prepared. He says his head is on a swivel!!! He is just amazing and he and his wife are the perfect team. No we didn't meet her but she is amazing! She made us muffins. Cinnamon was our flavor both mornings. Probably because we raved so much on Wednesday morning on them he couldn't dare bring anything else on Friday! She also made our family Snickerdoodle cookies which were equally delicious! Trust me you just have to bring your absolute necessities. He has waters. Snacks. Breakfast with coffee and hot chocolate. Have you home by 12:30-1:00 for lunch. He has the binoculars and a very nice scope for you to look at the animals. He is great at spotting the animals in the distance. Of course his knowledge as a guide he knows where the animals are most active. Yes we went to spots that others were at, but people pulled up without guides asking "what are y'all looking at?" Without the binoculars or the scope we would not have gotten the wonderful experience we had! We used Wednesday as a wildlife tour and it did not disappoint. Friday we went to the geysers and The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. When I first contacted Mike I told him the price was worth it to not argue with my husband on where to turn reading a map! I stand behind the fact that if my husband was driving he would have missed out on so much of the adventure!!! He loved watching the bison on the side of the road as Mike drove us around. Yes there is an app that gives you the tour through your radio. Mike has as much knowledge and more. We felt like he was our best friend those 2 days! He addressed each of us by our names all day even the first day! He answered all our questions. This is his business. He is your one and only contact person. He loves what he does. Let him be your friend too. Book with him and I promise you will not regret it!

Mike was an amazing tour guide who was very communicative through the whole process. He was quick to email or text you back when you have questions, even if it's just about the area or lodging. He is a wealth of information! We learned so much about the area and the history of the parks during our tour, as well as viewing lots of wildlife! He spent more time with us than the tour time that was booked, as we were looking for some specific animals. There are many tour companies out there, but it is nice to have someone who has a private tour for you and your needs! By the way, he brings snacks, hot and cold drinks as well as amazing baked goods from his wife!

An incredible day spent in Yellowstone with our guide Mike. 30 wolves (hunting, playing, etc.), prong horns; bison, big horn sheep, elk, on an overcast day. Mike was full of knowledge and fun to be around. He clearly follows the "pack your patience," creed as he answered out myriad of questions. Could not have been a better day. He runs YellowStone Wonders - no one else but him. Long time Gardiner resident with a comfortable SUV, home made muffins, coffee/tea and snacks. It was a bit confusing finding a winter guide and felt like a leap of faith at the time. You cannot go wrong with Mike.

When a public visitor asked him what he was looking at, he made several rude remarks and refused to show others. I talked to some other guides and they were very kind, but Jamie needs to recognize that Yellowstone is a public park and he doesn't own any of the viewing spots. I would never support a company with employees as rude as Jamie. Also, this company doesn't actually "track" wolves. They drive to parking spots and set up spotting scopes to view them from very far away. You can easily do the same thing on your own; just bring/rent binoculars and stop wherever you see groups of other people looking. Here are some pictures I took on my own without the guides. Just get to Lamar Valley at sunrise and wildlife is everywhere! It's honestly more fun to talk to other guests and spot animals together instead of paying for a rude guide to show you and hide it from others.

Bright and early, but worth it. We communicated with Audra way in advance and shared our desire to do a 1/2 day tour. We didn't have a long stay and wanted to maximize our visit to Yellowstone. She customized our trip exactly the way we wanted. Typically, the tours start very early (5-6a) but since we were coming from Big Sky, we could only meet our tour guide, Spencer, at 7a. It was the most amazing tour. Spencer took us to Slough Creek to see if we could spot wolves. We set up shop, had our binoculars and sure enough after 30 minutes, an entire den of wolves and their pups came out! We then moved over to another spot and witnessed coyotes defending their kill with a lone wolf. It was a sight. Then we saw a herd of bison, and a solo bison crossing the bridge. We saw red tail hawks, a red fox and white mountain. All slights were captured on video by our fabulous expert tour guide, Spencer. Suffice to say, our short visit to Yellowstone was incredible and more than we could ever imagine. Thanks to Spencer! https://lamarvalleytouring.com/

We started off with our first stop after less than 10 minutes in a very nice and immaculate Suburban, where Mike showed us a momma owl and her baby. His equipment is such that one can see as if the wildlife are five to ten feet away. I have poor eyesight, but I was able to see everything today with unbelievable clarity -- thanks to Mike's equipment. Within 15 minutes of being inside the park, we next saw an adult grizzly bear up close from the vehicle as we parked on the side of the road (up close, but actually 100 feet away). And it was not 5-10 minutes later that we saw 6-8 adult bison and 5-7 baby bison. We stayed and watched these for over 30 minutes as Mike felt like they would come closer to us. He was spot on as they got within 50 feet of our Suburban. Mike had hot chocolate, coffee, pastries, banana nut bread -- he was the host of all hosts. His uncanny ability to provide exactly what we wanted was second to none. Our most favorite stop was an area with a wolf den, and Mike quickly spotted the mother wolf along with a bear and a bald eagle nearby. After watching the mother wolf lay down for over 40 minutes, Mike suggested we stay patient as he thought there was a great chance the momma wolf might bring her new born pups out ... Sure enough, after being extra patient, and with a bear and elk walking near the mother wolf, she stood up and pulled her small babies out of the den. We saw at least two babies -- possibly three. We were over one mile away, but again, with Mikes high powered equipment it looked as if they were inside of 50 yards from us. We can't express enough just how good of a guide Mike is. He had sandwiches and drinks for us as well. He is a very safe driver and was very gentle with my wife Dana, who had been sick the past three days. Dana and I highly recommend Mike to all who want to explore Yellowstone and see wildlife and sights that must not be missed ... We plan on bringing our grandchildren next time to introduce them to the wonders of Yellowstone. Thanks for everything, Mike! Sincerely, Jim and Dana S.

He arrived right on time at 7am with a spacious, super comfortable van fully stocked with everything we could possibly need for a great tour; including binoculars, drinks, and snacks.
