Vegas has an awesome new date spot happening!! And this isn't just for dates, but outings of any sort, corporate events, birthday parties, girls' nights, guys' nights, etc. We had a fabulous time at The CTRL Room with DJ AI teaching us all the things! We had a little private party going on with only Marites, the Husband, and myself during our visit. I must admit, I walked in and looked at that equipment and wasn't sure if I would be able to do anything with it. But DJ AI took his time explaining everything, coming by to listen to our mixing and just be available for all the questions. I can see how you can easily get caught up doing this for hours on end. I was sad to see our class was coming to an end as we probably could have easily kept on going. But seriously, this is such a cool spot! Check their IG for all the latest classes and events they are offering! Thank you to The CTRL Room, Yelp LV, and Kayla R. for setting up such an awesome YEE!
It was fun and such a vibe. They had two different DJ's helping with the equipment and they were very hands on. If anyone looking for a fun group outing, a night to learn how to play Dj or just some fun times listening to music that you want to hear, you need to check this out. They even went over on the time we had! Thank you
Such a fun experience! For anyone that loves music and living out our dj dream. It is a lot harder than it looks and would take several classes to learn the basics. DJ Krush was great at giving us lesson on the basics to get us started. I love that he was able to come around and help us throughout the class. This would be a super fun experience with a group of friend or for an event. Don't forget to think of your DJ name before you go The one thing that would made it hard to concentrate while learning. It's so loud with random mixes from 6 other dj stations it made it harder for me to hear my tracks. That was little distracting.
This was one of the best experiences that I've had all year! Thank you so much Yelp, Kayla, Azia, Katy, CTRL Room Team - Chris and DJ Krush for this amazing yelp event! My plus 1 was my sister and we had attended the experience on Thursday night from 7-9. I was so excited when I saw that I was "In" for this event. I've always wanted to mix songs and learn how to be a DJ. It was great that I was able to go with one of my family members! The drive to CTRL room wasn't too bad, I ended up taking the 95 South to Tropicana and then local streets. There was plenty of parking available. When my sister and I entered CTRL Room, Chris had welcomed us and let us know to pick out a DJ name and write it down. I was DJ Mo for the evening! There was a wall of other DJ names, stickers from other Yelp events and attendees! We waited on other Yelp groups to attend since we had a full session (yay!!) and then started a little after 7:00. My sister and I had a booth together. We ended up switching sides throughout the evening. The DJ class was amazing and DJ Krush was crushing it! He started us off with a intro, Missy Elliot Work It and explained how both sides of the DJ set worked. We had to align the music beats, and then there was other sessions on how to do transitions into a different song. We had to make sure to pick out songs that were relatively near the same BPM. We did a few different tracks from like No Diggity (Yes, 90s music!), Aaliyah - One in a million, Night Job - Bas ft. J. Cole and more. We also had a chance to put in other filters like noise, space, echos and more. The last advanced part of the session, you could then start to remove vocals and certain beats from the tracks. It was just so much fun! I'm looking to come back here again with other family members. This was such a fun experience! Thank you again Kayla, Katy, Azia, Yelp and the amazing team at CTRL room!
Thanks to everyone at Yelp, especially Chris and DJ AI, for making Friday night such a fantastic Yelp Elite event! We chose the later 9 PM session and got to experience what it's like to be a DJ for 90 minutes--and let me tell you, it's definitely not as easy as it looks! This is a brand-new business offering a really unique experience here in Las Vegas. I think it's such a fun addition to the community and a great experience for tourists, too. You get to learn about the tools, techniques, creativity, and challenges that come with living the life of a DJ. DJ AI and Chris were fantastic instructors--approachable, laid-back, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to learn from. I loved all the edgy vibes, cool aesthetic, and attention to detail throughout the space. I would absolutely come back! I clearly need a LOT more practice, but I have a feeling my kids would be naturals and pick it up much faster than I did. I need another session, but one on one! Such a fun and memorable Friday night experience!
In my undergrad days, I aspired to be the DJ that rocked the party and got people shaking their moneymaker on the dance floor. Unfortunately my dreams were dashed when hopes and dreams met skills (or lack thereof), but perhaps my fortunes would have been different if I'd had the proper training at a place like The CTRL Room. DJ Toyss reminded me how fun it was to spin, mix music, and simply vibing out to the classics. Back in my day, we used to have to carry hundreds of heavy records and a huge coffin case around to play a party, but these days the kids got all the cool digital toys that make mixing WAYYYYY easier than it used to be. We had to listen to the beat to match things up, but now it's as easy as tapping a button and your songs are instantly lined up and ready for the next track to drop. I had a fantastic time at The CTRL Room and look forward to bringing all of my friends regardless of whether they have any musicality. By the time you leave this place, you will!
What a fun experience all around! Thank you for introducing me to this place. I really love the concept. DJ Xiver was awesome. He was so knowledgeable, personable, and really structured the class well as well as has a lot of passion for DJing. I have never DJed before and thought this class was the perfect intro to it in a fun setting. There is definitely a lot more to it and it is more technical than I thought, so a class is much needed. I liked how the class was broken up into sections were DJ Xiver would teach us something, show us, and then let us practice it as he walked around, and repeated that a few times. And then at the end we got to mix and DJ songs we choose. Super fun. He did say that they offer more classes for those wanting to go in more depth/keep learning, which sounds great to me. If you are even slightly curious, I recommend trying this experience! It is fun and you will learn a lot!
Ok this was SO MUCH FUN!!! We did the DJ experience at The CTRL Room and thank you Kayla for giving us the opportunity to try this because we had a blast! DJ AI was doing his thing teaching us. I'm officially DJ LES-GO and my +1, Big Yeti were just trying to figure out how to scratch the beat without messing everything up. The equipment was TOP TIER and our teachers was awesome! Super patient with us because obviously we had no idea what we were doing. My only complaint is that apparently a 45 minute class is NOT enough for me to start DJing at the club tonight. I definitely need more classes because I left knowing just enough to realize I still know nothing. Seriously though, such a fun and different experience in Vegas. We laughed the entire time and I would absolutely do it again. DJ LES-GO - MIC DROP. I'm out.
Ok I was really excited to try this and loved how it was a plus one event! I took the 9pm class and originally we all had our own DJ station. However as some people came in late, I had to double up with my plus one which was fine. I just wished we were given a heads up or started together since the roster was already made. As class started, DJ Krush showed us a few things. I recognized the equipment since some of my good friends are DJs. Energy was cool, however, as time went on I slowly forgot a lot of the transitions, sound effects, and buttons. To be honest, 2 hours seems very long and my attention span could not keep up. Also with everyone's music and everything blending into each other, it was hard to hear ourselves and get immersed in the music. I'm glad I got to try it. After this experience, I can say DJing isn't for me. But it was a really cool experience and I think others would enjoy it as well.
This was an amazing and unique experience offered right here in Vegas. We got to learn from a professional dj for 90 minutes. You can do it solo or as a duo. You are working on professional level equipment and taught how to use different functions at a good pace. Each activity was fun and they walked around frequently to check on us to make sure our beats sounds good providing feedback and suggestions. This feels like a perfect evening for a date, friends or even a bachelor/bachelorette party. You can also record your mixes via your phone. I'd love to have an audio file of it that I could add as well. Staff was super welcoming and friendly. I'll definitely be back in the future.
We honestly didn't know what to expect. I think we saw an IG post about a DJ class experience and we were hoping that's what it was, and it was! It was so cool. We've been wanting to look into learning how to DJ for a while now and it just came to us lol. Xiver was our teacher and he was awesome. It was actually so easy and simple the way he taught us. Within an hour or so we feel like we got the basics down already and we could actually become real DJ's if we wanted to. Thanks Xiver and CTRL Room! And thanks Yelp for creating this event for us! We had a lot of fun. Definitely recommend it to anyone who loves music and might be curious about learning how to DJ.
What a fun experience to start the week off. Grateful for this community. Evan aka Xiver was really nice and walked us through all the things needed to play a set. After he finished explaining we were able to play around and have our own experience. Highly recommend it for someone interested in learning to DJ because let me tell ya, it's definitely complex and will require practice. But if you like music and are willing to learn, this would be great!
My friend and I came to CTRL Room for a Yelp Elite experience and had such a great time! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I believe the owner was there along with the DJ who taught us, and everyone made the whole experience really fun and approachable. First of all, DJing is WAY harder than I thought it was I always assumed it was relatively easy until I actually got behind the equipment. There is so much more that goes into it than just picking songs and pressing play. That being said, it was so much fun learning! They have multiple DJ stations set up with everything you need, including the equipment, laptops, ring lights, and phone holders so you can even record yourself while you're learning. They also have pretty much every song you could imagine, which made it really fun getting to experiment with different music. The experience was very hands on. The DJ walked us through some of the basics first and then gave us time to play around on our own. They would come around to each station, answer questions, help us individually, and teach us different techniques along the way. I loved that we actually got plenty of time to experiment instead of just watching someone else do it. I honestly feel like we barely scratched the surface. There are so many different buttons, effects, techniques, and things you can do that I could absolutely see how someone could spend hours learning this. It definitely gave me a whole new appreciation for DJs. This was such a cool and unique experience. One of my favorite things about Vegas is that there is always something different to do, and CTRL Room is a perfect example of that. Even if you've never thought about learning how to DJ, I think this would be such a fun activity to try with friends or even as a unique date idea. The owner also mentioned they may be doing other types of events in the space in the future. It's a pretty large space, so I'm excited to see what else they come up with. Definitely keep an eye on their socials for what's next. I had an awesome time and would absolutely recommend checking out CTRL Room if you want to try something different, learn something new, and have a lot of fun doing it!
CTRL Room was SO much fun! I honestly didn't know what to expect going in because I've never DJ'd before, but I was genuinely impressed by how well everything was set up. The space is really cool and has such a fun, chill vibe. The setup is super high-tech, with professional turntables, phone holders and selfie lights at each station, and a computer where we could pull up music. I especially loved that the stations are set up in a circle because everyone can easily see the instructor, the TV, and exactly what he's doing on the turntable. It made the class feel really interactive and easy to follow. The DJ class itself was at a great pace for beginners. Over the 2-3 hours, we learned the basics of the equipment, how to mix songs, beat matching, transitions, effects, and how to put everything together. There was a lot to learn, but I never felt completely lost. We also had time toward the end to look up some of our favorite songs and play around with what we learned, which was probably my favorite part! I definitely left with a MUCH bigger appreciation for DJs and what they do. I didn't realize how hard it can be to find the right songs that work together, get the beats to line up, and make the transition sound smooth. It made me realize there's so much more skill and thought behind DJing than just playing music! I also really appreciated that the experience was educational but still so fun and relaxed. You can learn, experiment, take some fun photos, and just enjoy yourself. It's definitely something different to do in Vegas beyond the usual activities. CNTRL Room might have been one of my favorite Yelp events ever! A room full of technology, music, and DJs teaching us how to actually DJ -- it was SO much fun! I honestly have a whole new level of respect for DJs now. I never realized how much talent, timing, and concentration goes into it until you actually try it yourself. Listening to the music, finding the beat, mixing everything together, and trying to make it all sound good is WAY harder than it looks! Thank you guys so much for such an amazing and unique experience! Thank you Kayla, Yelp, Azia, Katy, and to the fantastic DJ Ai at The CTRL Room for an incredibly fun experience! The CTRL Room is located at Patrick Neighborhood Plaza, on Pecos and Patrick, near Stir Krazy Mongolian Grill. You'll find them next to Paul's Vegas Photography and Beneath The Surface Tattoo. There's plenty of parking. Inside is immaculate and spacious! There's a cozy lounge that's colorful and features an amazing vinyl record display as a vibrant wall backdrop, very nice personal touch. I checked in early with Michael, aka DJ Ai. I thought it was going to be a full class, but it was nice that there were only three of us learning to be DJs. We had plenty of one-on-one time with DJ Ai, it's great! He introduced us to the DJ system we'll be using, which is the Pioneer DJ XDJ-RX3. It's called a stand alone because of the built-in screen. You can plug your music in, and it flashes up on the display. There's a KRK studio monitor speaker at the station, and we were advised to keep the volume in moderation. Also, headphones were available, and there's excellent lighting to take videos. We started with counting bars first. Every bar is 4 beats, and a standard house music phrase is 32 bars. We practiced with a couple of R&B songs, they have a variety of genres available, like punk rock and classic rock. DJ Ai gave a lot of useful information and how to use the turntable which is the jog wheel, where you touch lightly to make scratching noise, this is used to correct and adjust the song. Cross fader makes transitions, turning down the low frequency EQ creates smooth blends. The Trim knob controls the individual track volume. Play button blinking green means track is on pause. Orange button is a queue button, which is like a temporary bookmark. Hot queue is a permanent favorite bookmark, always keep one at the very beginning of a song. You can save all kinds of notes in the laptop. DJ Ai taught us how to beatmatch using BPM (beats per minute). Red highlighted bar on top means it's the Loop. In our case, a 16-beat loop while the second track plays normally without looping. We learn special effects and sound color fx. To activate, use the color knob which starts at 12:00. Below Tap is 14 different effects. Only use cross fader 1 or 2, and press the solid blue button to turn the effect on. Stems is where you're able to isolate parts of a track in real time. If playing a song, you can take out the vocal instantly and add or remove drums. Stems won't work with apple music streaming. You can search the library for songs. All the BPM are shown in order. You always want the BPM to match. Any BPM can be double and cut in half. For example, type in Drake, it'll show all songs by Drake. If you can't find a song in the library, it'll do a search song in apple music. To load up a song, if you click on the song, you can drag it and drop to the deck. The second part of class was doing freestyle session! I chose songs that are 128 BPM. The first song I loaded on Deck 1 is by Sabrina Carpenter vs David Guetta Taste (Beat breaker 'Titanium' Edit) (Clean). DJ Ai is so nice to help me find a second song for Deck 2, which was by Usher - DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love (BVRNOUT Rework). He first demonstrated how to transition, isolate track in real time, and taking out the vocals. I was practicing and replicating his method. It took several tries, but I think I got the gist of it. I spent time experimenting with sound effects and using the filter. I was so focused I didn't realize DJ Ai was recording me when he comment, "That was good!" I smiled, it was encouraging! I kept Deck 1 as the same song, and switched to a different song for Deck 2 by Rihanna - Where Have You Been (Clean Extended). This one was a little tricky, because there are two female vocals. DJ Ai showed me how to properly time, so it doesn't sound like a female vocal was suddenly cut off. He told me exactly what to look for. Sabrina Carpenter's vocal starts at the 15-second mark and Rihanna's vocal starts at 29/30 seconds. From here, it gets super fun! Using the filter is what makes the transition flow seamlessly! I played with different sound colors using space, dub echo, sweep, noise, and crush. There's even more color effects like flanger, phaser, pitch, and slip roll. I continued practicing and switched Deck 2 to a different song by Zedd - Clarity ft. Foxes. Mainly focusing on sound effects, I was having so much fun playing with the filter, that was the highlight for me! They'll be offering more classes which is 2 hours a week for 3 weeks. DJ Ai has been so kind, welcoming, very helpful, professional, and friendly! He was personable and it took him 3 years to practice as a DJ, started with vinyl and now he's been DJing for 20 years. Most of the time DJs will mix by ear, sometimes by visual. Overall, this was a super exciting DJ class! I wouldn't mind taking another class, it's very engaging, immersive, and totally rewarding! read more

I loved that we actually got plenty of time to experiment instead of just watching someone else do it. I honestly feel like we barely scratched the surface. There are so many different buttons, effects, techniques, and things you can do that I could absolutely see how someone could spend hours learning this. It definitely gave me a whole new appreciation for DJs. This was such a cool and unique experience. One of my favorite things about Vegas is that there is always something different to do, and CTRL Room is a perfect example of that. Even if you've never thought about learning how to DJ, I think this would be such a fun activity to try with friends or even as a unique date idea. The owner also mentioned they may be doing other types of events in the space in the future. It's a pretty large space, so I'm excited to see what else they come up with. Definitely keep an eye on their socials for what's next. I got invited here as a plus one for a Yelp event, and might I say... this was DEFINITELY such a fun experience! The DJ equipment was top tier, the vibes were even better, and our instructor for the night, DJ AI, was AMAZING! He was so knowledgeable, passionate about what he does, and made the whole experience so much fun. We definitely had a good time learning and getting a little taste of what it's like behind the decks. And let me just say... I have a whole new respect for DJs because BABY, it is NOT as easy as they make it look! Such a cool and unique experience, and I would absolutely recommend checking out The Ctrl Room if you're looking for something fun and different to do! read more
By far the BEST Yelp Elite Experience I have had. Events like these are the reasons why I love being a Yelp Elite. I had SO MUCH FUN. The most FUN I have had in a while. I was fully prepared to have a mental breakdown on this night due to knowing I would not be good at something, but no tears were shed or headaches appeared. Went into this experience completely blind. My friend and I listen to music and go out often yet still know very little about DJing itself. We chose a couple of songs ahead of time that we were looking forward to mix...but when we got to that section of our lesson we realized how hard it truly was to mix them. haha Anyways, our teacher DJ AI aka Michael was amazing. He was super friendly, super insightful...truly a master of his craft. I thought it was interesting too that he also teaches a course like this at UNLV. Learned so many things about counting beats (BPM), beat matching, using the controller. Halfway through this I was like "it's no wonder why some DJs give people looks when they ask for song requests." LOLLL He made sure everyone knew what they were doing and came around to give 1-on-1 help. At one point I chose two songs that were mixing well together (with his help) and he complimented me and said he might need to borrow these songs for his next gig, which was exciting for me. Lol This activity was truly way out of my comfort zone but I am so glad that Yelp gave me an opportunity lean out of it and try a new thing! Thank you so much Yelp LV! read more
What a great experience! It's such a unique activity and perfect for anyone. The instruction was easy to follow and engaging with each individual group. My husband has been DJing for years and he even walked away with some great tips and learned a few new things. The space is pretty large and loved the DJ name sticker wall. Super cute and gave another interactive moment. I heard they're going to be offering some collab events in the space so I'm definitely looking forward to coming back for those too. read more

What an incredible experience at The CTRL ROOM. I didn't expect that I would have a 1 1/2 hour DJ lesson. I tried a lot of events and I would say this is new to me. I always heard DJs everywhere I go to events but I've never touched or experience how they mix the songs and beats. Shout out to DJ AI and his companion. They are very professional and nice. read more
This was really fun and something that I wouldn't have even realized it was an option. This was also really close to my house, which I appreciated. They had such nice DJ equipment and it was a great opportunity to learn some new DJ skills. The last time I did anything DJ related was with the game DJ Hero. Everyone was great and patient with questions. I really hope this place stays around because it's such a fun concept. read more
I have a blast with me and my friend in the Ctrl Room. I thought I was going to have a difficult time because I know how technical it can be, but it was a lot simpler than I realized. DJ Krush and Chris were great host for our Yelp Elite event tonight. Our class was filled up and got lucky that I was able to have my own DJ set and I didn't have to share. haha. He gave us general knowledge how a typical DJ would pick songs. On each of the lap top there's about 1500 songs to choose from a DJ storage with intros and outros. The point is not to have every song in the library but how to bring songs in and out. There was 8 DJ stations. There was a bright studio light, with a cell phone rig if you wanted to put your phone up to record videos for any of your favorite social media platform. Overall I had a blast, even when we did our freestyle, DJ Krush and Chris came around checking everyone giving encouragement and gave us some extra pointers. Amazing experience with DJ Toyss!! I've always wanted to try something like this as my dad was a DJ! I absolutely love music and was excited to mix music for the first time! I'm so grateful that we got a play by play of what each button was and what did what. At first I was nervous about if I was going to get the hang of it but DJ toyss made it very simple to understand and was a great teacher. I'm grateful we got to mix the first sounds together and then we were off to mix our own music which I loved. I also loved the ring light with the option to put your phone so you can record what you are doing. I honestly loved this so much I want to come back and bring my dad! This is such a fun activity and highly recommend! read more

This was such a unique & fun experience! Chris & DJ Toyss were so helpful, informative, and brought great energy. I love the structure of the class where they introduce the basics & then set you loose to have fun. You could tell all of the equipment is fairly new & well maintained. Such an amazing event!! Dj AI was our instructor and was so knowledgeable and helpful throughout the session. The first part was getting acquainted with the equipment and learning about what they do. Dj AI modeled what to do and then had us try. The second part was a free play style. We got to choose our own music, mix, play with some of the sounds, etc. This was such a great experience and it made me want to check out the other sessions CTRL room offers. read more

Had the best time taking our turn in learning how to DJ. Chris and DJ Crush were very friendly and helpful providing us insight into the process and what to expect. The design is industrial and modern with cool pops of color with the furniture and decor. The equipment is top of the line and plenty of music selection options to choose from. Definitely have high respect for how advanced DJ skills are and it was neat to watch and learn from a professional. Would definitely go back with friends and really appreciate this one of a kind opportunity! read more

THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!!! Thank you Yelp, Chris and DJ Toyss!!!! I brought my friend, and we had no idea what to expect. I have such a respect for DJs now after taking this class! This was a lot harder than it looked. It was so much fun, and Chris and DJ toys were so patient and we had a really great time in our class! I'm not sure if I have a future as a DJ, lol, but I would absolutely take another class with them! I think this is such a fun idea, and is something new and exciting to try in Lasvegas! My friend date and I went on Friday and 7 PM-9PM. We got started a little late because some people that signed up did not show up or we're late. Just a little sidenote that it's really important to be on time for these events. My friend and I looked it up in this experience usually costs $60-$70 depending on the night that you go. It was super generous to be offered this opportunity. Thank you to the CTRL room abs Yelp! We started with creating name tags with your DJ name. This was fun and we got to add it to the wall of DJS. I do not think that I will make a good DJ but DJAI was super supportive and gave a lot of good information about what it's like to be a DJ and all of the crazy buttons. The only thing I probably mastered is loading new songs, but I did have a lot of fun trying to get better. They do have a restroom on site. I will be recommending this experience to my friends. read more
Hey Yelpers! So this was without a doubt my favorite Yelp event EVER! After DJing for about 15 years in high school, college, and beyond (back in the days of turntables and then CDs), that was 20+ years ago, but I always wanted to try it with the new equipment. It just looked crazy confusing. Then this event came along, guided by Chris and DJ Toyss. I had so much fun! They walked us through the basics of the equipment, then helped out as we learned new buttons and knobs to push and turn. It didn't take long to get the basics and I was off and spinning. SO.... MUCH... FUN!!! Regardless of your experience level, this place is an awesome opportunity to experience life behind the turntables. I would especially recommend it to anyone thinking about music production/DJing as a potential career. I know I will be back to do it again, next time taking advantage of the ability to record your mixes. What an experience! As someone who has very little knowledge and low interest in becoming a DJ, the staff made the learning experience fun and engaging and an amazing time. There is a lot to learn and listen to and the 90 minutes covered so much while giving me a lot of time just riffing and playing around with sounds. It is a bit hard to come up with songs you'd want to mix or think of how you want the transitions to sound like, but I learned that is part of the musical craft and process. I can definitely see this experience as the perfect gift for someone who has even an inkling to making and producing music, and learning how to navigate a professional DJ set up. Oh my gosh this was probably my favorite Yelp elite experience I have ever done!! It was so fun and interesting start to finish! I have a whole new respect for DJ's and what they do! There's so much that goes into mixing just 2 songs together, blending them, adding loops and sound effects, tempos...and so much more!! It's hard but so fun!! DJ AI was awesome!! Everyone was great! What a fun experience. It is a small room with several stations set up with pro equipment and a real DJ leading the class. We learned the basics about how to mix songs and run the decks. It is overwhelming but they walked us through everything and helped us create our own mixes. We had the opportunity to share our new found skills and make our DJ names. Wow, shout out to Yelp and The CTRL Room for this super dope offering! I love music and have always wanted the chance to do a dj class and this was the perfect way to dip my toes in. From the outside I wasn't sure if I was in the right place, as I had the later time frame of 9pm and the parking lot looked kinda quiet, but the windows are tinted and once you walk in you can see the brightness and vibrancy of the place! Since it was just after 9 when I arrived they had just begun, DJ Ai was awesome and jumped right into explaining the different functions and demo'ing how it sounds to add two songs together and let us try a few other buttons and explained what they do before letting us play around and mix some songs of our choice. I thought it was super helpful how there was a camera pointed on his decks to show us what to look for, and he also came around and answered our questions and gave some tips. The space itself was very clean, the equipment is top of the line and DJ Ai was a great teacher and made the experience feel comfortable while making it fun. This was such a great way to give dj'ing a try. Thank you so much Yelp and The CTRL room for making this event offering, my bestie and I loved it so much. Hands down the most fun Yelp experience I've ever attended, and I feel so grateful to have had this opportunity! I've seen many of my DJ friends in action behind the decks (mostly house music) and always wanted to learn, so this was a wish come true. Let's be honest, my friends are skilled and talented, but maybe not meant to be teachers who explain things well lol. All they told me was if you can count to 4, you can DJ! We attended the last session, a Friday night at 9pm. The space is large, nicely cooled inside, the equipment are all state of the art, and both DJ Chris and DJ AI were so nice and willing to help make sure everyone was having fun and that we got any help we may have needed. I had a blast playing around and experimenting with different songs. We could've spent hours finding songs that go well together. Learned about counting beats, beat matching, and vocal isolation. It was a little hard to hear everything being taught at the front of the class, only because the music can be loud, but all the more reason to continue lessons for more one on one time! I'd say this was a huge success because I walked out of there knowing maybe what 25%-50% of what the buttons and dials all do, versus 0% before!
