Thanks to Yelp for offering all these opportunities to try out businesses we might not otherwise. This business is downtown and though I have seen it I have not stopped in. Usually if I am downtown it is for a show and Sinful Sweets is not open. Luckily I was with someone who dropped me off and picked me up at the door which saved the hassle of parking. Upon entering the shop it is bright and colorful with lots of delicious treats on display. There was one other customer but no employee in sight. A few minutes later one came out of the back. She was friendly and helped me get my free truffles even though the offer did not load properly. The store has a variety of chocolates and cupcakes and some pre packaged candy as well. I also tried some peanut butter edible cookie dough while I was there as well. It was good but nothing special. Apparently they have a packaged buckeye version. The Yelp offer was for a package of four truffles. The package listed what they were but it was hard to determine which was which other than the espresso. My favorite I think was the Guiness truffle. I normally love peanut butter but it just left me wanting more. I couldn't even tell it was a peanut butter truffle so it was disappointing. If I happen to be downtown maybe I will stop in and try something else. It could have just been a miss.

January's individual Elite events included the opportunity to grab some sweet treats at Sinful Sweets! While I love Sinful Sweets for their milkshakes and baked goods, I usually overlooked their truffles in the past, so I went ahead and took advantage of this offering to change that. Oh man. Those truffles were amazing. Elite guests received a bundle of peanut butter, expresso, fudge, and stout truffles. I thought for sure I'd be able to pick a favorite from that selection. Nope! All were equally good in their own way. I wanted more and it was probably a good thing I was far away from the shop at that point. Another reviewer put it perfectly: this event was simple and sweet. Walk in, pick up delicious truffles, head on out - and of course, come back soon for more treats!

Nice treat! I've never been to the store but my husband has been buying chocolate goodies for me here for sometime now. It was my first time going. Parking was terrible but expected to be so. We were lucky enough to get one of the 15 minute spots. The inside is very small but has everything you would want. Cupcakes, cookie dough, truffles, chocolate covered pretzels and strawberries, ice cream, chocolates, and more. I've had a few things but not the truffles so it was nice to try something different. They were very good! Peanut butter was my favorite as it melted in your mouth. I would definitely get more next time. We also opted to buy a peanut butter cup cupcake because they are delicious

I'm a huge fan of this shop. It's my go-to when I need something sweet for a dinner party or just a snack for myself. How awesome is it to receive four free truffles as an elite?!? Super awesome! I walked from my office on Ross Street and back so I never earned this treat after braving the wicked winter temp and wind. The truffles in my packet: peanut butter, espresso, fudge and Guinness Stout. Can you guess which is my fave? Well I love them all but Guinness Stout holds a special place in my heart. The service was as friendly as always. The shop smelled and looked as delicious as ever. What a great little treat. Many thanks!!

This place is magical. There, I said it. I've had their cupcakes and their milkshakes before but had not tried any of their chocolates. The truffle package was adorable and there were 4 different ones to try. I loved them all, though the fudge was my favorite. The girl working was very helpful and sweet. While there, I decided I also deserved a chocolate covered s'mores. It was messy but delicious. I also got a Moose Track milkshake. It was the perfect consistency and just the right amount of sweet.

So getting to town I is not an easy task for all but these folks aeniorn a little later so took advantage of that. You walk in and the cases are full ( wish I grabbed a pic but luckily other yelpers are more in the ball than I. There was aa woman in the back that you could see through a window -- she asked if she could help me when... told her i was there for the Yelp event as I stumbled in email to find my confirmation - yelp page and then finally showing her the offer er after checking in. She hit redeem in the app and handed me the package show. No explanation of thE store or what else they offer My first time visiting .. I would have gladly listened to what sinfully sweets is about. Warning ... one is peanut butter in event you have an allergy. The stout is fantastic! Thank you for hosting the event.. but get me excited to come back by spending a few minutes to explain your store :).

Stopped over here while doing errands downtown as well as take in the ice house over in Market Square. I've visited this location a few times since they moved over from 9th St and they still carry a nice selection of homemade candies, cupcakes, pastries, chocolate covered cookies, as well as Perry's ice cream and now selling edible cookie dough. I asked the counter lady about diabetic options and she told me they didn't have any. They do have some things that are gluten free. Vegan cupcakes can be special ordered ahead of time. My check in perk entitled me to 4 small assorted truffles in a bag. The bottom of the bag is clearly labeled as to what they are. They are not too big so you can probably finish them off fairly quickly or snack on them when you have that sweet tooth. The Guinness truffle was by far my favorite and I learned was made in house special for this event. The espresso was also very good. The fudge was different in that it was made from dark chocolate which is my preference when it comes to candy. Still, I enjoyed it. I'm saving the peanut butter one for my husband since I'm not a fan of it. I was interested in Valentine's day orders and the cookie dough. With the edible cookie dough having now become widespread I asked if I could sample one of them. She gave me some of the red velvet to try. I found it not so sweet and not to filling. This flavor is their Valentine's special and I could have it made up or purchase a premade sealed pint of other flavors displayed on the shelf. I decided to get the premade cup. The cost is dependent upon how many scoops you want. I ordered 2 which ran me $4.00. She told me that it doesn't need refrigeration and will keep for a couple of weeks so I was able to take it home without any problems. As far as Valentine's day is concerned they are currently taking orders for chocolate covered strawberries. Like all candy stores you can "build" your own box of chocolates to your liking. The ones used for today's event gave a good sample of what they focus on although I would have like to have had a piece with nuts in it. People have noted that driving downtown during the week is both problematic and pricey. That is very true however, public transportation is available and this store sits on Liberty Ave near some of the bus lines. Bike transportation is also available. They are open daily so if you want to save on parking then come in after 4 pm or all day Sat or Sun and you will get reduced parking rates. Sweet event at a very sweet shop.

I stopped by here a couple of Sundays ago for Yelp Elite Week @ Sinful Sweets. While I have definitely been past this location before I can't say that I have ever really noticed it before. It's located right on Liberty Ave close to Market Square and the weird Liberty/Fifth Ave intersection. The inside of the shop here was quaint and consisted of an area with what I would consider to be random candy, see through glass to some ice cream containers and then a couple of display cases, one with chocolate and one with baked goods. Whenever I arrived at the shop I was immediately greeted by the person working that day and upon mentioning that I was there for Yelp Elite Week she proceeded to have me mark the offer as used as well as hand me a prepackaged set of 4 truffles. I have to admit that I haven't seen this as part of a Yelp week before but it actually made a ton of sense to me. In any case the four truffles consisted of peanut butter, espresso, fudge and Guinness Stout. Out of the bunch our household liked the peanut butter the best followed by the espresso. All of them were good though and it was nice to get a selection of them. The bottom line for me is that we would stop back here again in the future. They have a nice selection of candy, cupcakes and ice cream and it's nice to know a place downtown where you can get all three.

This was a great event! Sinful Sweets is a business that I might not have necessarily ever known about if it wasn't for Yelp, and this event. The truffles were delicious, and now I know of a great place in town to get a wide variety of sweets and treats . . . Thanks to Sinful Sweets, and the Yelp team for organizing this event . . . Cheers!

Cute store in a nice location! Within walking distance to market square and the cultural distrIct. The truffles were very tasty. I think the peanut butter was my favorite! The store was clean and the girl working was very friendly. I received my free truffles with no problem. Thanks Yelp for the sweet treat!

I checked in but no offer popped up. However, they were understanding of the technical difficulty. I showed them the email and my check-in on the app, and was soon on my way out with the 4 truffles.

I'll give this a solid 3 stars. I came by with my daughter on a Thursday evening. Sinful sweets is in an awkward spot making it a challenge to find a place to park. When we arrived, noone was in the store. We looked around for a few minutes and then a lady came out and gave me the truffles. We also purchased a 6 pack of chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. Somewhere in the process I lost my truffles hut didnt realize until I got home. The cupcakes however, were average. Not bad, just ordinary. They reminded me of grocery store cupcakes. I wouldn't mind stopping by in the future if in In the area to try something new. I saw they had some fancy looking cupcakes that I now regret not trying! Thank you yelp and sinful sweets!

I LOVE chocolate and these truffles did not disappoint. There are four different flavors -- peanut butter, espresso, fudge & Guinness stout. They are all good but Guinness stout was my favorite. The only downside was finding parking, which was not so easy but then again, that's not unheard of in downtown Pittsburgh. Can't wait to go back again and get myself a box of the Guinness stout! There is no bad day that chocolate cannot cure.

But what really got me jazzed was the next morning as I was commuting to work, I heard Randy Baumann, host of the DVE Morning Show on WDVE, talk about attending a fund raiser the previous night at Scratch. He went on and on about how great everything tasted and how the owners locally sourced their ingredients and did wonderful things for the community. Then he dropped a bomb, more like a cricket and mealworm bomb. He explained that they use crickets and mealworms as a protein supplement and they are organic and he raved they tasted great. To most people, including myself I don't have an interest in eating bugs. However, I thought, if picked to participate in this event, as they say when in Rome, I would eat some bugs. To my pleasant surprise all samples offered that evening were bug free! Speaking of samples, they were all delicious. All but the third sample was vegetarian. I noticed, as the owner pointed out when he delivered his speech, that they offer a lot of vegetarian options. We has a fried risotto ball, a mushroom goat cheese crostini, a cracker with pulled pork, and a shortbread cookie at the end for dessert. We were also given two cocktails that were invented specifically for this occasion. I liked the first one best, finding the latter to be a little on the sweet side. I had a great time seeing some Yelp friends and I was so happy to hear Don, the owner, explain the concept behind his establishment and how passionate they are about the community. Best part about Elite Events in my opinion. We also heard from the chef, and bartender. Really fantastic event, I look forward to going back. Thanks Scratch, Rachel C, and Yelp, awesome event!

All of the rolls that we had ordered tasted good and had a nice ratio of roll to fillings. Out of the 3 I tried both the hot trot and the Mon were my favorite, while my wife enjoyed the wagon wheelie especially the addition of the pickles. For my two I have to admit that I liked the hot trot the best due to the addition of the hot peppers. However, if you are an olive lover, I would highly recommend the Mon as you really get a nice olive flavor from it. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. First impressions were the space was small and intimate, with a lovely outdoor seating area and a modern looking downstairs where we yelpers gathered to enjoy the evening. Since that area was a tad small we were pretty packed in there, sardine like. Wait times for drinks was a tad on the excessive side since only one bartender was serving the masses. She was very nice though and well deserving of the tip we gave. The complimentary drinks were not my favorite though and I wouldn't order them again. The one drink I did purchase wasn't bad but more on the meh side. Strong though so that's a plus. My favorite food samples were the wild Columbian river salmon Nigiri, the edamame hummus, and the fried tofu. The Salmon topped this list as it was fresh and satisfying. I could have just eaten a plate of that and I would have been good. The hummus was very tasty, but they dished a big spoon of hummus and only supplied a few plantains chips. So there was a lot of wasted hummus. The bit of fried tofu was a nice sweet way of ending the samples. Since I am not into fried or sweet things this small portion worked. I have to agree with others that with the space constraint and the way everything was managed it was a bit clumsy. The samples, like the drinks came slowly, but I am not one to kick a gift horse in the mouth. I enjoyed most of the food, and may make a return trip probably for brunch. I learned this from viewing their website when I arrived home from the night. However, I would have preferred to hear it during the event, since it is always nice to hear about a business and what they have to offer, in order to encourage me to want to come back. The food industry is quite competitive, so it always helps to make yourself stand-out. Yelp events are a great way to meet-up with fellow yelpers and try new places. This event succeeded in this regard. I had a great time, the staff worked very hard to keep us going. Unfortunately, interaction between the staff and their yelper guests were at a bare minimum. I was starting to wonder if we were really welcomed in their restaurant, or were they just making the best of it. PAN looks like it has a lot to offer, and I am glad I had the opportunity to be part of the night. I have attended a handful of yelp events, and they were superior in every way, so I have to admit that this event cannot compare to these past experiences. Confusion and the lack of communication interferes with the flow of an event this size. Many thanks to the organizers and staff for a night out with fellow yelpers, and for providing some very tasteful dishes. The fried tofu and edamame hummus were my two favorites.

One of my favorite things about the events are meeting all the great yelpers in the community and enjoying the events with them. We also got to see Aj S and share several laughs as he is always a blast to be around. I think the major thing that the event lacked was the restraint of the vulture yelpers that hovered near the pool table and cleared out the sample trays before they made their way about the room. I have read the suggestions of other yelpers that a buffet may have helped this dilemma. I honestly don't think so. Free buffets bring out the worst in some people.. We were given tickets for drinks, so why not for food? Ah ha! Now we are talking... Anyhow that was the main drawback, since many trays were devoured right at their beginning destination we did miss some of the initial samplings. However, what eventually made its way around ended up being pretty darn scrumptious. The first thing that came our way was a smoked salmon with, capers and aioli, on a crostini. It was very good reminiscent of a lox and bagel. The next tray that came about was Shrimp and Grits served on a spoon for one bit sample. The corn grits had a habanero cheese in them and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. Such a balance of heat and flavor this was one of my favorite things, the perfect bite! I will order it when I visit again. A Veggie Slider tray made with Balsamic-Rosemary Goat Cheese & Granny Smith Apple chickpeas, and veggies made its way to us next. It was ok, had some good flavor, just wouldn't see me ever ordering it, but great option for those who are not carnivorous. Unlike the others at my table I did get to sample one of the pulled pork sliders with slaw, very good. We also got a crab cake slider, which was not my favorite, however I heard others signing praises so again just a personal palate opinion. I think like many others our favorite and winner of the evenings offerings was the candied jalapeno slider with candied jalapeno cream cheese & apple wood smoked bacon, taste buds were in awe. So, so very good. Definitely will pair well with the grits upon return visit. Lastly we got a bowl of Anthony's ice cream with three flavors, apple pie, ginger and one of pumpkin. I tasted each but opted to give them to Matt as he has a sweet tooth that won't stop and honestly I was feeling full only after single samples, so I can only image how the folks that attacked the waiters were feeling. We had a really nice time here, up to that Pirate loss when we packed up our ball and went home. Thanks Rachel for organizing the event and Benjamin's for all your tasty treats, see you at the next event
