One of the teeth was sensitive after being filled and required a follow up for a fluoride treatment. A different dentist saw me for that who was very friendly and quick. I'm on the autism spectrum and with my sensory processing issues, even minor dental work is extremely difficult. The team was kind, thoughtful, thorough, skilled, and so gentle- everyone from front desk to the hygienists and the dentists get five stars. I sent them an email before I went and they were the literal best. They offered stress balls, as many breaks as needed, kindness and direct communication, willingness to explain what was was going to happen step by step so I could prepare myself, and never once did they shame me for sensitivity I can't control. I met a woman in the waiting room who also said this was the literal best dentist she'd ever been to and that she traveled two hours to get there every time. This dental office experience starts with a sparkling clean, high-end beautiful waiting room. Phone chargers. Super smart and friendly office staff who know me & joke with me and everyone. They are also efficient, professional and kind. While I wait, I usually charge my phone because the darn battery dies because I use it. I never wait long. Maybe 2 minutes? Then I am greeted by the super kind and smart dental hygienist. She is so friendly and warm! Ushered into a clean, modern dental room. Updated appliances. Clean dental practices. You know those spit cup stations that used to be by dental chairs in the 80s? They are nasty germy messes. If any dental office has these, RUN. Seriously. You won't find anything like that here. Everything is clean and new and pristine and it's clear they maintain and upgrade as needed. Ok. Time for dental work. Lay back. "Here are sunglasses to protect your eyes from the bright light overhead." "Here is a remote; you can watch Netflix or Hulu channel flip to your hearts' content." I am in the process of 2 months of my 3 Month Invisalign process. I have wanted Invisalign for YEARS. This office evaluated me. They evaluated my teenage son. Turns out, Invisalign is great for us! They showed me a computer animation of how our teeth would be fixed as many times as I wanted to see it. It was COOL! I am 45 years old. My teeth are set in their ways. But they are being GENTLY aggressive about fixing my teeth and it is working!! I can see my teeth are getting aligned quite rapidly. Wow. They put those things that are little squares on the front of my teeth. To help the Invisalign grab my teeth. They do have to shave (yes, shave) parts of sides of 1 tooth every now and then to give me room for my other teeth to move into alignment. (This would NOT happen at a cheap walk-in mall place.) I am sensitive to medical procedures. And was apprehensive about getting part of my tooth shaved. But I don't even feel it when they do it, they are so gentle. It's amazing. Wow. I tell you, the entire staff is full of smart, amazing, qualified, fun, kind, talented people who are EXTRAORDINARY at their job. My husband has teeth issues and they are so good with him and his issues. And my two boys didn't want to change from our last dentist but I had a bad experience and needed a new one. I went to a horrible one right after that. I had no idea archaic practices and rough procedures were still a thing! It was horrible! Then I found this place because my dermatologist and psychiatrist are in the same building. And, the cafe downstairs, I have nearly become friends with the cafe lady. I am at this building a LOT, and found this dental practice. This is a great place. My two boys love it too. And my son's teeth are getting straighter with his own Invisalign too! What is frustrating is that before agreeing to the retainers, I specifically asked the front desk multiple times whether my insurance would cover them because I did not want to pay a large amount out of pocket. I was assured that everything was good to go and was told exactly what my portion would be. Based on that information, I agreed to move forward. Now, 8 months later, I am being asked to pay an additional amount. I understand that ultimately insurance determines what they will cover, but I wish the office had been upfront about the possibility that these services might not be covered instead of assuring me that they would be. Had I known this beforehand, I may have made a different decision. I was also encouraged by the dentist to get the plastic retainers, which I agreed to because I trusted his recommendation, even though I already had a permanent retainer. Unfortunately, this experience has caused me to lose trust in the office, and I have decided not to return. I would recommend that patients verify coverage directly with their insurance company before agreeing to services rather than relying solely on what they are told by the office.
