I was there for a specialist - not primary care - and this was kind of an "I need this right now"…read moreappointment. The first time I went there, the receptionist I started with (there are 3-4 at any time) was great, but then she left for a bit and the next receptionist, after taking my paperwork and telling me to sit down, would start talking to me as if I was paying attention. It was weird. The doctor was OK, but I wasn't crazy about him. He said I didn't need surgery, and referred me for a scan. I couldn't make a follow up appt right then, leading me to believe they would call me when they got the results. I had to call them to make another appt, and when I went back, the doctor asked if I needed a copy of the results. Wait, if I hadn't gotten the results from the scanning facility already, how would I know that the doctor got them? The receptionists this time were more on top of things. Then he confirmed that I didn't need surgery - again. He seemed to consider the case as closed. I asked if I could get a referral for PT (really the reason I went in the first place). He seemed surprised that I would want that... The place isn't horrible, but again I also wasn't there for primary care. There was a woman who had been waiting when I showed up the 2nd time, and she was still there (and looking pissed) when I left.

I had a very disappointing experience at Century Medical. The front desk staff and medical…read moreassistant were kind and professional, but my interaction with Dr. Grace Masaba was not. I came in for a follow-up appointment with prior lab work already completed, expecting to review my results and discuss next steps. However, before I could fully explain my concerns, I was immediately dismissed and told to follow up with another provider. There was no effort to review my labs with me or provide any meaningful guidance. I felt rushed, unheard, and the visit was ultimately unproductive. As a patient, I expect to be listened to and for my concerns to be taken seriously--especially during a follow-up visit. Literally just switched her to be my PCP and she sits there and says well this is not my area of expertise I understand everyone specializes in certain felids but it's literally blood work just explaining blood work. I understand that providers may have limitations, but clear communication and basic patient care should still be a priority. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I hope the office works on improving patient communication, professionalism, and continuity of care.

I would not recommend this provider (Dr. Namita Kache) based on my experience…read more I came in with a facial burn that was time-sensitive and was hoping for clear guidance and reassurance. The only aftercare advice I received was to use Vaseline or Aquaphor, with no detailed explanation of why, how often, how long to use it, or what signs to watch for during healing -- I later found that Vaseline is NOT ideal due to clogging pores (Another detail she did not disclose). I left feeling uncertain about how to properly care for my skin. She also advised me to begin using retinol the following week. When I later sought a second opinion from another dermatologist, I was told to delay retinol longer because the area was still too sensitive. That discrepancy was concerning, especially given the vulnerability of burned skin. In addition, when I asked about a persistent white bump I've had for over a year, she identified it but did not discuss next steps unless I specifically prompted her. I felt I had to repeatedly ask for clarification throughout the visit. Overall, the appointment felt rushed and impersonal. I did not feel heard or guided through my concerns, and I left with more uncertainty than confidence. For a first dermatology visit, I was hoping for more thorough education and individualized care. I ultimately found the second opinion far more detailed and reassuring. Based on my experience, I would encourage others to seek a provider who takes more time to explain treatment plans and next steps.

This was my first visit after moving, and I went in to get a refill of my current prescription and…read moreto review the others I had been using. I saw Dr. Waterman, and the appointment felt extremely rushed. Whenever I tried to explain my situation, I was frequently interrupted. Rather than carefully reviewing my current medications, he quickly ordered several new prescriptions without clearly explaining why changes were being made or how I should use them. I asked if he could write down instructions, since these medications were new to me, but I never received a clear answer. I was told the prescriptions would be sent to my pharmacy. Later that day, the pharmacy still hadn't received anything. This started a frustrating cycle of calls. Each time I contacted the office, I was told the prescriptions would be sent, but they never were. Even on Saturday, after being assured over the phone that they were sent while I was on the line, the pharmacy confirmed nothing had come through. By Monday, after four separate calls, I learned the prescriptions had not been transmitted because the doctor had not filled in the dosage. Only after a staff member stepped in did they finally reach the pharmacy. When I picked them up, I was even more confused. I received duplicates of one medication, plus several strong topical steroids with instructions that didn't make sense. The labels said to use them 1-3 times daily, whereas my previous treatment was only 1-2 times per week for the same condition. This made me very hesitant to use them without clear medical guidance. I called again to ask for proper instructions. The staff told me the dosage was "on the labels." I explained that it didn't seem appropriate and was told the doctor would send me an email. A week later, I still haven't received any follow-up. They were quick to charge you right when you arrive, but everything afterward--from the rushed appointment, to the lack of explanation, to the repeated issues with prescriptions and instructions--has been very disappointing. I do plan to return to this office, but I will not be seeing the same doctor again. Patients deserve clear communication and reliable follow-up, especially when strong medications are involved.

I'm an IBD patient who has been getting biologic infusions since 2009, been using outpatient…read moreinfusion centers since 2019 after getting them at my doctor's office prior to that. Started going to Thrivewell in 2024 because my previous infusion center of 5 years stopped giving my medication so I was forced to find a new infusion center. Never in 17 years have I had as many issues with obtaining this medication in a timely manner as I have had with Thrivewell over the past year and a half. If, like me, you have health insurance where TPAs (third party administrators) are involved, good luck trying to get anything authorized in a timely manner. Whenever something changes or expires, they have no idea how to handle it and it becomes an entire stressful ordeal that takes weeks to resolve, and as a result I've ended up missing infusions that I need in order to function like a normal human being and not be in pain, which if you know anything about IBDs can be debilitating. The final straw was when they let my most recent authorization expire this past January and then proceeded to give me the run around for 2 MONTHS claiming that they couldn't get an authorization because they "weren't allowed" to create a username and password needed for the third party website that's used to get authorizations from my insurance company, then they were "back and forth" with my insurance, then they didn't know where or how to send the authorization request, then they were given the wrong fax number, then they don't know who to speak to, and THEN they said they sent it and expedited it but it was still pending after 2 weeks, etc etc, blah blah blah, excuse after excuse. Finally after I missed an infusion this month and my anxiety and rage were through the roof from 2 months of this nonsense, I had enough and decided I didn't want to be treated there anymore at all. Lo and behold, this other infusion center that I'm in the process of transferring care to had an authorization within ONE DAY and everything else taken care of by the end of the following day. So explain to me why this other place was able to do what they were supposed to do in 2 days with no issues and Thrivewell just sat there and continued to make excuses and not do anything properly for months to the point where my treatment was in jeopardy? Also I later came to find out that in the year and a half I treated with them they never even billed my insurance, but rather were just going through my copay assistance until the funds were depleted, because I never got any statements from Thrivewell (I'm not complaining but I know my medical benefits and what my out of pocket responsibilities are so it seems iffy) or EOBs from my insurance for these infusions, and I checked my claims online with my insurance company and not one of them went towards my infusions. Why the hell am I giving you my insurance information then? The copay assistance program is supposed to cover at least a portion if not all of my out of pocket costs after my insurance is billed, it's not supposed to be used to pay for the whole thing as if I had no insurance! These are EXPENSIVE meds and literally once those funds are depleted that's it for the year, and then I'm hit with a massive bill for my deductible in the middle of the year (when my first or second infusion of the calendar year should have knocked it out) for anything else I have to do medically. It's a shame because the Manhasset location itself and the staff there were very nice, but the back end is completely incompetent and shady and needs to be investigated. I work in a related field dealing with health insurance and if my company did this we'd be in big trouble. I don't and will never recommend this place to anyone who gets infusions. Vivo Infusion or Local Infusion are both wonderful, go to one of those if you can.
