Original is below. --- R&M provided a great quote and we agreed on a day for the work. However, they never asked for my address and when I contacted them to follow up, they never responded. It ended up being a waste of a Saturday I had scheduled for them, and spent waiting around for a response that never came. No apologies or attempt to reschedule, just no response. I am now looking and hoping for better communication elsewhere.

He came over the very next day to look at the lawn and understand the scope of the project. We had our lawn rebate application approved by WaterSmart and had very specific requirements to qualify for the rebate. He took good notes and came back with a competitive quote that met all the requirements for the program. He laid out timelines, scope, requirements very clearly and delivered exactly how he said he would. When he needed input from us he would ask us (like which stone color we preferred, which mulch color etc). They handled the entire project from start to finish -- removing all the old turf, hauling away debris, and grading the soil to prepare the area for planting. They installed a drought-tolerant landscape that included new irrigation, mulch, and a variety of California-friendly plants, plus one ornamental tree to meet rebate requirements. The crew also helped with final cleanup and made sure everything was ready for the SoCal WaterSmart rebate inspection. If we have future projects, he would be my first call. He removed the roots carefully, paid close attention to detail, and surprised us by applying weed killer between the pavers and shrubs. Our family was impressed. For the 2nd visit in March 2026, unfortunately the company did not meet the same standard. We communicated via the same number, so they were aware of that we were interested in the same work as before last year (weed removing, trimming of tree shrub) This time, a different employee (H.H.), performed the work. He trimmed the trees and shrubs a bit more quickly than Francisco did, which was not an issue in itself. However, he didn't remove the overgrown roots, but rather just trimmed them, which caused the plants to grow back much faster than before. He also didn't apply any weed killer. After we paid via Zelle, we noticed that our 24-hr security sign had been snapped in half and left on the same spot it was planted. No shrubs were around that area. The employee didn't mention to us at all, but when we asked him what happened, he initially said he didn't know. Only after we saw pictures showing that the sign was intact, he apologized. Additionally, another blue security sign next to our AT&T fiber box was missing. The sign had been in place for months and was clearly visible from the driveway since the shrubs didn't fully cover it. The worker claimed he never saw it. We understand accidents can happen, but the lack of communication and transparency is unfortunate. We are likely moving on to another company.

He came to my house for the scheduled consultation and gave me the best price. After seeing my lawn, I asked if he could fix my sprinkler and lay out landscape fabric and mulch to prevent weeds and maintenance. He said he would measure what I need once he finishes the lawn cleanup, which I liked. The day came, and he cut my grass and cleaned up the weeds in my lawn. He also capped a broken irrigation line I had from the previous owner of the house without any issues and installed the new sprinkler I had mentioned. He measured my lawn and gave me the price for the mulch with a landscape barrier. I agreed, and he went to Home Depot to pick up the materials in his truck. When he came back, he laid down the barrier and mulch to perfection. He also went the extra mile by removing the sprinkler heads that aren't needed anymore, which I appreciate about him.
