It was the perfect day to shop Four Muddy Paws, because it was National Shop Your Local Pet Store Day. Yes, that is a real holiday. I was so glad to be able to stop by and support the original FMP. Since I moved to Illinois, I am now a regular at their Edwardsville store. Sophia got two new bandanas, two small iced dog treats and one big Happy Barkday Cookie to celebrate her special day. When we did our morning walk, we took the big cookie with us. As we meet her neighborhood friends, we broke off a piece of the big cookie and shared her celebration. The staff was new to me, but I was happy to see they still provided the good customer service that Four Muddy Paws is known for. I may be a regular in E-ville now, but I'll still hold a special place in my heart for the Lafayette store.

When I went a few weeks ago, it was Baxter's 2nd birthday so I let him sniff around and choose his birthday toy and treat. He was very excited to see other dogs walking around and wanted to be friends with everyone (humans and dogs)! The store offers a wide variety of treats as well as specialty treats for birthdays and gotcha days. The workers were also so friendly and when it was time to check out, I signed up for their rewards program and since it was our first time (and a birthday), they also gave me a small discount - which was much appreciated. I now know exactly where to go when Baxter needs more treats or toys. This local shop is just perfect for my little fur baby!

However, we have two very spoiled cats. My husband was against having a "service" come into our home. But, we needed a solution. Honestly, it was the best decision we made for our boys when we are on the road. My husband openly admits how happy he is with our choice. We get email notifications of the visits complete with pictures of the kitties. I trust them and highly recommend their services. A+

Where do I begin? We can't Bragg enough about STL CCC services!…read more We were able to leave our 3 boys in the comfort of their home during our vacation without having to worry about whether they were being taken care of and for the 1st time after a trip, we didn't need a vet visit due to illness from doggy day care! Our boys were spoiled rotten! The staff visited 3x a day which allowed potty time, outdoor playtime and meal times. It even allowed fetch time for our "ball crazy boy" and cuddle time for our snuggler! I think the thing we loved most about this company was the communication. We were sent an email update after every visit, letting us know how our boys were doing, a checklist of what had happened during the visit and, my "favorite", pictures of my babies playing! We even received text communications letting us know when one of the visits was going to be just a few minutes later than normal, due to road closures. We haven't even been home for 24hrs and we have already booked this team to care for our boys again soon. They rocked! I also have to mention that they collected the mail, swept and vacuumed, and even left the fur babies a special doggie treat; this was top notch and very much appreciated! I could go on and on......5 stars for sure!

Now our other senior animal they've diagnosed wrong said she had a thyroid issue so she was on medication for that for years...turns out she doesn't have that issue she has stage 2 kidney disease. we had to go to another vet for them to run tests accurately and get that diagnoses. They only care about how much money they can get you to spend every time I've been there my bill has never been below $600 because they over sell you on everything and don't tell you the price till you get to the checkout. i highly recommend Martins veterinary hospital they're the best I wish I would've gone there sooner they actually care about your animals and try to help them.

When I asked for the cone he came in wearing back, I was told I had to pay $16 for the new cone he was wearing. (My punishment for requesting the cone he came in wearing back? I was not charged as part of my original bill.) Earlier, during my appointment, I was given two different price quotes for the exact same services (neither of which included a fee for a new cone) that I was supposed to sign. One was about $50 less than the other. I was told that was the one this vet offers when she feels nice. The more expensive one is the one she "should" charge. She did not feel confident in being able to provide an estimate for the services, unsure if the vet would feel nice or not. She tried calling the vet, but I was told the vet was on lunch from 1-4 pm, and they could not reach her. The receptionist was kind and listened to my complaint, but it truly did not seem like she cared nor would anything change. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience. The quality of care and professionalism of one of the tech's I dealt with did not match the exorbitant fees they were charging for those services. We are seeing a new vet on Friday. We're just not confident in the care he received.

20+ Years as a client, Can't say enough how Great they are! Happened to see the crazy review from…read moreAnn C. and can't say how wrong she is. First, Dr. Steinberg is the vets name and he was trained in Germany. I moved to West County from Ohio over 20 years ago, and was referred to Dr. Steinberg from another Bearded Collie owner. He is a wonderful vet and a nice person. His staff has always been very courteous and professional, and have treated my dogs with absolute kindness. Dr. Bender is equally competent and thorough, and it truly says a lot when I tell you I feel just as comfortable with either Doctor. Bearded Collies are not a common breed and have some particular sensitivities to some medicines. Dr. Steinberg has always been aware of these potential problems without my mentioning it, which just adds to my comfort level. I know a lot about Doctors- my father is a prominent Pediatrician in Ohio, with a 6 doctor practice, and I worked over 10 years in that office during summer breaks. I find many similarities in the qualities between vets and pediatricians- neither of them have patients that can communicate their problems! My father is a very straight-forward and common sense kind of doc, and I know if he were a vet he would be very similar to Dr. Steinberg! I used to be surprised at getting a follow up call to see how my sick dog was doing, but this is standard operating procedure for West County Animal Clinic. This always gives me an opportunity to ask any small questions that may have come up during the recovery process. Some vets are more interested in making money, than they are in helping their patients, and I have never felt either of the vets here were padding the bottom line. The focus has ALWAYS been on what is the highest quality of care that can be provided to help my dog. One of the best examples was with my first Beardie, who at 8 yrs old developed an abcess in his prostate. Dr. Steinberg suggested I take my dog to Mizzou's Animal Hospital in Columbia, MO. I asked if he couldn't do the surgery in his office, to which he responded he felt it was in the dogs best interest to bring him to Mizzou. I did take my dog, Howie, to Mizzou and they really saved him. He died twice in the ICU and had to receive blood transfusions, clotting factor, and be revived twice. When it was all done, the Mizzou vet told me I was VERY lucky- most vets try to do this surgery themselves and then the dogs end up in Mizzou anyway, and by that time they are too weak to survive the ordeal. I personally credit Howie's living another 5-1/2 years to Dr. Steinberg's expert advice. If you want the best straight-forward medical care for your pets, this is the place to go!

They filled me in on all the possible reasons my water feature could be losing water and gave me the number of Chad at Gateway Aquatics to come look at it. We are handy. My husband is in construction. We both stared at the water feature and had no idea where to even start troubleshooting it. I was SO grateful when Chad came by. Now, it's not free to have him come by...but it's helpful. He was very informative in explaining all the possible issues and how they could go about fixing it. He texted me an estimate that day or the next and could start the work the following week. I waited about a month to schedule but he was on it then. A 50% payment is required before the work is done and it can be paid by credit card with no extra fee. Chad and the helper came by on time and did a great job fixing it. In my case, the water feature was leaking water. They dug up the hillside, replaced the hose, replaced one pump, replaced the waterfall box, and a few other small things. Total was around $2,500. I was shocked to hear him tell me how much people pay for these things. SHOCKED. I inherited it in a house purchase and it better be good for a while with no calls to Chad needed!
