This was one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. The ambience was 10/10, the music 10/10, the company amazing and the food to die for.
We had a tasting menu, we really wanted to try everything in the menu, but there is a great excuse to go back to continue tasting it all.
First we had Roasted carrots resting in a house-made mole crafted from local cacao, with notes of fresh rosemary and thyme, finished with cashew sour cream and toasted pistachios, it was delicious.
We then had YLANG YLANG SALAD, it was a vibrant salad with citrus, fresh herbs, and garden greens, tossed with Ylang Ylang-infused vinaigrette and topped with sesame brittle, the colors were amazing and the flavor even better.
We also had QUESO FRITO ISLEÑO, so beautifully presented that slicing it would have seem to be a sin, but indeed it was a great sin to make, I will surely sin again.
We then had what I think was the star of the night for me, CEVICHE CARIBEÑO Fresh local catch marinated in citrus and passionfruit, served with grapefruit segments, crispy recao leaves, and crunchy plantain chips and if I must say, the citrus and passionfruit marinate highlighted the flavor of the fish bringing it to a delightful bite.
As the night continued, we had ANCESTRAL RIBEYE in Ancestral cornmeal "funche" (Creamy Puerto Rican cornmeal porridge, slow-cooked to a smooth, comforting texture) served alongside a very tender rib-eye and finished with aromatic herb butter and a mushroom-rosemary reduction that was so delicious that it is a must have again and to finalize the night we had dessert,
And what a dessert it was, PASSION FRUIT TIRAMISU and the name says it all, you can never go wrong with passionfruit and it being the custard and dusted with local cocoa (Jeanmarie Cacao) was heavenly.
We had great company, great music, great setting and AMAZING food. Best Cuisine in town. We highly recommend taking the time to visit this gem in the beautiful town of Aguada in the West side of the Island. Oh... they also have rooms to spend the night, weekend or vacation with or without company. An amazing retreat space to read, rest or just see nature. read more
