We didn't formally attend the camp but met with the kindest ranger who was overseeing the venue during Covid March 2021. Papa/ owner to a beautiful and kind Great Dane -- Iris? This gentleman really impressed our families and encouraged our re-return. We discovered this location on happenstance. It's Covid 2021 in March after a brief winter storm. We decided to pull over here not knowing that the camp was operational. We had a small patch of snow play that thoroughly entertained our young children. Mr. Ranger allowed us the brief stay and welcomed us to tour the bunk dormatories. For a nominal price (i think he mentioned $350/weekend) you can rent out one of the lodge buildings which had plenty of room to sleep several large families. No kitchen, but a cute shared space.. it could be really fun to escape here. The area was peaceful and there's so many fun activities that would go on during the normal camp season.. There's a lake, rock climbing, bb gun shooting, archery, soccer, etc. I think this is something out family would come back and explore! Reviewing for the extreme kindness by the Ranger/ Iris papa. His reception and warmth made us want to return and consider bringing out kids back.

Positive place for kids!

So the 5 stars are primarily based on the fact that after my kids came back from 6th grade camp in November they had nothing but glowing remarks about their experience there. However this weekend was also open house by the YMCA to promote their summer camps. So hey why not let the kids relive camp for a day and we get to join the ride? Well, I got to say the place was everything they reported it to be. Rock climbing. Soccer. Basketball. Candle making. SMORES! Archery. They even shot BB guns. Thanks YMCA guess what the kids want for Christmas. We did tour the facilities. The camp rooms look comfy. The cafeteria program was set up with yummy but nutritious options. They do meet allergy needs. They did serve brownies for snacks and well, I snuck thirds.

My daughter went for camp this summer and she had a wonderful time. We will definitely return next…read moresummer. Pros: she rode the horse every day, including one trail ride, she enjoyed fun camp activities everyday like rock wall climbing, gaga ball court, smores around the campfire, she enjoyed the food and said there was dessert every dinner, great camp counselors. Cons: ran out if time to do some of the activities when they visited camp marston, there was a lot of stairs headed to the cabins. The horse show at the end was so cute, but get there early or on time bc they start right away. Overall, she learned a lot at the camp and made new friends. She is looking forward to next summer. Also, there is a great app to send your child emails every day and they also tag you in all your child's photos.

My daughter (now 14) has been going to this overnight camp for the last 4 summers (1 week/summer)…read more She loves it! She loves riding, learning, and caring for the horses. She has always had a good experience with her counselors. I know she is in great care and have never had any issues with any of the staff. She says the food is fine (she said it was way better than the food at sixth grade camp). It is served family style, but it has never made her sick. On the last day, they invite the parents to see the horse show. It is cool to see the skills they have been working on during the week. I was surprised to see negative reviews, as my daugher, her friends, and cousins have all had great experiences. If you are looking for a camp with lots of swimming, kayaking, and climbing, I would look elsewhere, but I would highly recommend for anyone interested in horse-focused overnight camp.

What a fun time!!…read more Coming from someone who rides horses daily, this was a wonderful experience! I took my friends here for a bachelorette weekend ride and it was perfect! One of them had never been on a horse before and Luke was so kind and willing to make her feel the most comfortable when riding! He explained to her how to safely ride and have a comfortable ride, at that. Not only was it fun learning about the Julian mines along the tour, the horses were very happy! I avoid doing these kind of things because typically the horses are ridden so often that they just become robots and you can tell they're unhappy. That was NOT the case with these ones. They get well-rested and have a lovely space in the shade to relax when they're not on trail. Each of our horses were also very well trained and rideable for even the most inexperienced person. All very sweet temperaments and happy to get their apple slices at the end. Overall, the ride was wonderful, our guide was so respectful and informative and we had a wonderful day riding through the countryside of Julian!

After a lot of research I picked Integrity Stables and I'm so glad I did! Horses are well loved and cared for, the ride was very private (just us and our guide), the scenes were beautiful, and our trail guide (I'm blanking on his name he was young--maybe it was Luke?) was super knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Would recommend to anyone (experienced horse person or not) and definitely plan on going back next time I'm in San Diego! While it is a little drive from San Diego (45 min - 1hr), the little town of Julian was the perfect place for us to stop afterwards for lunch before we made the drive back!

This family owned and built setup gives an old timey backyard feel with games ranging from treasure hunt, archery, ax throwing to a large garden/nursery. Like a large backyard it is all dirt paths with over grown trees & bushes so i would not come in high heels or nice shoes. The garden area is an "instagram" worthy spot for influencer photos as it is decorated with vintage photo frames, art, pottery giving it a rustic yet artsy feel. Pictures on yelp do the venue more justice than the companies website or TripAdvisor. Dates and hours are limited, as the family runs all aspects of Fort Cross. Highly recommend confirming they are open before just heading out. My one reservation or word of caution is with the archery. There are no forearm guards or finger protection offered. The bowstring with repetitive can possibly hurt your skin and cause of injuries.

BEST WEDDING VENUE EVER!…read more My husband and I dreamed of a wedding where everyone could stay together onsite, immersed in nature, with no worries about driving after a night of fun, and Camp Osito Rancho made that dream a reality. Our families stayed in the health center, lodge, and electrified cabins, while our friends embraced the adventure of summer cabins and tents. The venue offers so many stunning spaces, from the spacious dining hall for meals to the stage/amphitheater with fire pits--perfect for s'mores and late-night stories. We exchanged vows at the top of a hill near the outdoor pavilion, with a gorgeous backdrop of pine trees and a view of Big Bear Lake in the distance. We were able to offer our guests camp activities like archery and a pool day, as well as had room to setup other activities like craft tables and lawn games. The biggest perk was the complete freedom to choose our own vendors, allowing us to create a truly personalized experience (huge shoutout to Scratch Kitchen for catering--our guests still rave about the food). We spent a year making signs, collecting décor, buying solar lights, and crafting to transform this Girl Scout camp into a full-blown wedding festival. If you're up for planning the details, this venue is the ultimate blank canvas. Last but not least, the Camp Osito Rancho team is absolutely amazing. A huge thanks to Angel for her help throughout the year, Ryan for his help throughout the weekend, and to Gerardo for the tour that sold us from the start. For a wedding that feels like an unforgettable getaway, this place is pure magic
