This is the best place to come for kids that love to shoot guns in a fun and safe way. It's run by Brandon who's a Marine (booyah!) and he knows what he's doing. He knows how to keep this really fun for kids and really safe and really upbeat. This is the second time that my grandson has elected to have his birthday party here and it was just as fun as ever the second time. I like this location better than the last one because it's much shadier and the terrain isn't as flat so it's actually more fun to play the game behind the barricades. It's near Flinn Springs on Olde Hwy 80. We always bring our own pizza and cake and they provide the same and tables and bleacher seating and portable potty as well as the guns with gel ball ammunition and the headgear and Brandon referees the entire game and helps the kids with strategy and he encourages everybody. The birthday boy gets a special birthday song and a certificate and his own T-shirt at the end of the day. I enjoy the simplicity of this because it's just pure fun and innocence. My granddaughters even enjoyed it this time and of course, Kamikaze grandma (me) always enjoys it more than anybody. So young and old anyone can play and anyone can have a blast. We held our Little League team party again with Gel Tag San Diego! 2 years in a row, 1st time was last summer at our fields and this year at their location this past weekend. Both times Brandon and his team did amazing with the setup, kids and adults. They went over everything with the players to ensure there were no hiccups during play time. Hired Gel Tag SD for my son's 4th birthday. Got the idea from a friend. My son loves playing with nerf guns but he is barely turning 4. So I thought this was a great idea using the gel ball. As stated, no stains, very minimal sting, biodegradable. Chula Vista park approved vendor. I paid $50 vendor permit to chula vista. Although I believe the website says 5yo and up but with parent approval - they allow 4 year olds to play, thankfully! And you have to sign a waiver. They are very good in making sure everyone's waivers are signed before starting the games I chose the mobile 2 1/2 hr choice. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect- if the kids were going to be too tired or if the girls (especially younger ones) would lose interest fast. For starters, Brandon and his son DJ arrived early to set up, wore their masks. I was late in reminding the kids to eat lunch before the game started, so they were eating like 10 mins into our start time- I told Brandon I understand that this is paid time and he assured me that it was ok because they give breaks in between games anyway. The orientation was longer than I expected but DJ is very thorough and asks if anyone has any questions before starting the games. The kids played multiple and different games , honestly I lost track. They're very organized and give the kids water breaks. I had coed kids from 4-17yo play and everyone had a blast. I recall my friend was surprised to see his 6yo daughter was having fun playing. The adults were even able to play a game at the end. I wish I had got the 3 1/2 hr time slot, so that the kids and adults could've played longer. I got so much praise from friends that their kids had a great time and want to use them for their parties. Yes, my 4yo boy was able to work the gun. Not quite sure that he entirely grasp the concept of being out but eventually I just ask the guys to let him keep playing since he was the celebrant lol Also, Brandon and DJ were very accommodating to my requests. We loved having Gel Tag San Diego for my son's 10th birthday party! Brandon was very professional, was amazing with the kids, and arrived on time to set up before the party started. At one point, since all kids hadn't arrived yet, he invited the parents to play along with the kids. Adults and kids had a super fun time! I do recommend kiddos wear long sleeves for the gel tag games. Although safety masks are worn and games are safe, the gel pellets, if shot too close to the body, will leave a temporary welt and it could hurt on little bodies. We hired Brandon late last year for my son birthday party but due to the weather, we had to reschedule several times per my request. Brandon was absolutely amazing and so professional with accommodating our needs. He even referred us to a really yummy pizza place that had one of the largest pizzas I have ever seen. What an amazing job these guys do! We went to a birthday party for an 11 year old and were not sure what to expect. The Gel Tag San Diego team did amazing job communicating and coordinating and keeping everyone safe. They kept things moving quickly and we all (adults and kids) literally played until were were all exhausted. The gel projectiles do not hurt at all so the game is super full people of all ages. I got shot in the face several times with just sunglasses on and it didnt hurt or leave a mark. Its an easy 20 minutes east of San Diego and the staff was amazing. Super friendly and helpful and fun. It was clear their number one goal was making sure we had a good time and not saving a few bucks on limited rounds or time. The free for all at the end was the highlight for us.
