This place gets you in and out in well under an hour (hence the 45 in F45). 2) You don't need to worry about adding structure to your workouts. These guys take care of that. 3) There are several class options per day (around 5-6), leaving me with less of a reason to use lack of time as an excuse for not working out. 4) The work outs are full body. 5) The staff is awesome. They're basically your personal trainers and they provide great motivation during your workouts. 6) The prices are reasonable and they offer a few different plans. (Unlimited for a year, 8 classes/month, month to month). The only thing I don't like about F45 is your membership is only valid at the location where you purchase it. Not great for someone who travels a lot.

You're on a team of sorts and very quickly ind yourself cheering each other on. The trainers are very encouraging and make you feel really comfortable. It's not a huge gym but there's so much equipment and all the exercises are fitting for the space. You don't feel like you're on top of each other. All the exercises can be modified and the flow of the workout is so easy to follow. Aside from the music and the high energy, the trainers really know how to spool you up without it being annoying. It's a great time. As soon as I heal up I'm going back. I've got too many injuries to do it now, but literally the minute I'm cleared to do it again, I will.

The two newest staff members are very unpleasant with one of the girls going as far as chasing you down anytime shes away from the desk when you scan in and practically accusing you of not being a member. On top of that the same girl has a habit of putting things away before anyone is finished, I've seen her do this to the point someone will eventually yell at her. Any time you step away to grab water, go to the bathroom, or even just walk around in between sets she immediately cleans up after you even if it's obvious you're not done. She also seems to think everyone should workout in 100% silence so if the weights ever make any noise or if someone makes even a quiet grunt she'll tell the manager who then calls you to say there's been noise complaints about you (which is funny because whenever I've gone there's either people that are much louder or there's not a single person in the building so I'd love to know where the complaints are from). It's really not worth the price.

It's a little weird that there are giant bowls of candy at the front desk when most people there are trying to change or maintain a lifestyle of health & fitness. For those that are new or nervous in the gym, the circuit training is a great introduction. 30 minutes of weights and cardio, one step/machine at a time. We enjoy the hydro loungers at the end of our workouts, which is quite a nice way to relax afterwards, for a few minutes. What I don't like is the lack of privacy... sure you're dressed but whenever you're laying there, everyone that walks by looks at you like you're on display. I know, I may be weird about this, but a privacy curtain would be nice. I do wish there was a sauna or steam room to go along with the black card perks, but it's not a necessity, just wishful.

We were in…read moreAnchorage visiting family for an extended period of time during the holidays and wanted to keep our daily fitness routine. For many years we had been loyal Alaska Club members but their are so EXPENSIVE! We're seniors so we checked out the Senior Center. While the Senior Center gym is pretty nice their hours of operation are very limited. So, we thought we'd give the YMCA a shot and we're so glad we did. It cost less than $65/month for unlimited access. We could pay one month at a time bring our grandchildren. They are open from early in the morning to pretty late at night. They always have at least 2 lanes open for lap swimming and their treadmills are solid, industrial models with cable TV screens. They provide 2 clean towels and a large locker with a lock for free and you can also reserve a small locker (you provide your own lock) if you want to leave you exercise shoes or toiletry. It is so unfortunate that we lived in Anchorage for many years and never considered using their facilities. Oh yeah, they are just about to open a brand new addition that sounds like it will be first class. Hint - their app really isn't worth using as they haven't figured out or assigned someone to really make it work or keep it updated.

It is…read moreconveniently connected to multiple trails and easy to access on foot from most of West Anch, Spenard, Northstar/Valley of the Moon, Midtown, and Downtown. If you've got a bike, you can connect from even further out very easily. As such, the Lagoon looks a lot like a Gilmore Girls community and is popular with people year round. There are frequently small sponsored events going on- the coolest of which involves ice skating in the winter. I personally love this park because it's a great place to bird watch. It's a fragile breeding ground for aquatic birds (take note dog owners - IT IS NOT OK TO LET YOUR DOGS OFF LEASH HERE OR LET THEM SWIM!) Red Neck Grebes are one if the more unusual arctic birds that breed here. The arctic terns also put on quite a show. Various loons and cranes also make an appearance, as well as some unique ducks. There's also an awesome playground and snack bar for the kiddies. A few years ago they also installed a bike counter that tracks the thousands that use the Tony Knowles at various intervals - it's fun to watch the numbers climb as the season goes on. There's also a free bike maintenance station here. Definitely a great location for lots and tourists alike, but parking is a problem, so carpool or better yet, use the trails!

They have private parking lots for you to park free of charge. It is located near downtown and is a welcomed break from the hustle and bustle of the city. It conveniently lies at the intersection of two of Anchorage's most popular trails, the Tony Knowles and Chester Creek trails. There were many runners traveling through while I was there, going through the two little tunnels that run under the road. You will find benches and picnic tables here to sit around the lake. This is home to lots, I mean lots, lots of waterfowl. They seemed aggressive, so I kept my distance. The disc golf course was nice but was covered in snow and mud. The lake is nice and during the winter is converted to an ice hockey/skating rink. My only complaint is that the park could be a little cleaner, even though part is that could be due to me visiting off-season. There were some maintenance guys there do some other stuff. The park is touted as a great place to bird watch in the spring and you can see other animals such as moose, beaver in the early morning or late evening, muskrats, foxes, otters, and minks, year-round, but it is rare. I did not see any of them. This nature park has a calming kind of peace to it, even though you hear the hum of cars on the nearby road. Just sitting on the bench looking out to the lake was so very soothing. If your schedule permits, I highly recommend visiting this place to just relax and recharge.

Got great photos of the Suicides, waded in the lake, and wallowed on the grass. One regret is that I didn't get a pano shot. I'm like queen of the panos, what the heck? There were a few people tenting it, making it a perfect amateur backpacking adventure. Will come again and may pack a picnic.

Unless you really know what you're doing, don't go past the gate in the winter or this could be you!

My mom is a botanist so she got to explore her flowers and plants, I like mountains so we got some nice shots. I would highly recommend Sudevi and her company. She was equipped with water and snacks, what else can you ask for.

He hiked us up to hidden lake, and then gave us the option to climb to the summit of The Ramp for the most breathtaking view. As a novice hiker, it was certainly a challenge, but the views at the top were spectacular. All in all, 13 miles round trip. Hiking poles, snacks and water were provided. Those poles saved my knees on the way back! I highly recommend this company. I felt I received great value.

This can also be your place. The facility is well kept and has multiple fitness rooms, a swimming pool, basketball courts, a boxing room, a spin room, racquetball courts, saunas and even a track upstairs. The best part though? This gym is free people, FREE. No cost, and offers plenty of machines, weights, space for your workout pleasure if you have access to it.
