I call and Ashley is extremely rude, trying to talk to me instead of canceling our accounts. This place is nice and clean but employees are not knowledgeable and some (not all) are not friendly. ​

Peak hours are usually 12-2P weekdays, and 4:30-7:30P on weeknights. I mean the place is slammed; so if you have the opportunity and don't want to wait for a machine or crawl over people, avoid these times. Quick story: a couple of years ago I had packed on some extra weight. Very embarrassing and due to my schedule when I lived in the area, I couldn't commit to a gym that closed at 9P. So I started going here religiously. About a month or so in, when I checked in I was handed a note. Handwritten note that told me to keep up the good work, and that I was looking good from working out there. I would have to say I'm not the only one who got one of these so honestly- the little things make the difference. I befriended the GM Lenny (who left the note) and he has taken care of me since. There are plenty of machines, the staff is always around cleaning. Also got a new machine that has ropes and medicine balls and all this craziness - I have dubbed it the "Look at Me Machine" but the fact they keep investing back into the equipment is huge. Massage chairs and massage beds are huge- really haven't used them in awhile but I believe I still hold high scores on spider solitaire? I've been told the tanning there is good as well. THE ONLY ISSUE I HAVE is the WiFi. Usually takes me a couple tries to have the login page pop up to sign in. Great staff, great management, 24/7, perfect for anyone. See you there!

She never went back. They try to 'make' that they are 'all that's caring and more, but not in my experience. People around here tend to end up at the Somerset Hospital rehab place..

The locker room is always clean and also very modern. 90% of the cardio equipment has attached TVs, and there is a large giant fan over top that keeps you very cool. There is a spin room in the back as well. They also have a smoothly bar with so many flavors. I always add a scoop of protein after my workouts. The taste is wonderful and the price is right. Plenty of parking outside, and they have standard gym hours. Definitely the best gym in Cumberland.

I was then looking for gyms in the nearby Cumberland area, and came across Life Fitness Management tucked away in LaVale. Its hard to find the gym, as it is on the corner of the buffet. When I signed up for the gym, I got a student discount and only had to pay $30! The gym is very big inside, and there is a separate area for weight training, aerobics, and cardio workout, so it never seems crammed. Most of the cardio machines have TVs, so you are able to watch what you want on your own without having to share a TV. The machines are also spread far apart, so you don't have to worry about people being up in your space. The bathrooms and locker rooms in the gym are very nice and don't look like your high school gym lockers. They also have a couple of showers and saunas in the back you can use at anytime you want. The staff is very nice and always greets you. They also have a shake bar with some good flavors to choose from after your workout. All within a reasonable price. I have been a member at this gym for almost two years now, and I am much more satisfied paying $30 for a gym that is clean and spacious rather than use the crowded local school gym.
