I've lived in East Stroudsburg for almost 8yrs and when I first got here my insurance company happened to be Nationwide until I found Joseph Saeger of YMI during my search for a new insurance company because my premium was getting higher. In fact the way he exhibited himself by patiently explaining the various coverage and the quote he gave me, right away caught my interest and desire to join Yutz-Merkle Insurance. I have been with this company for the last 5 yrs until a couple of days ago I switched to another company (Liberty Mutual) without consulting Joseph Saeger because I thought my premium with YMI was on the high side judging from the quote I got from Liberty Mutual. So when I called Joseph Saeger after two days to give him heads-up about my new catch and that I was cancelling my policy with them, he expressed interest in knowing what kind of coverage I was getting from my new catch. So I e-mailed the information to him and he called me right away to let me know what I will be losing if I happen to cancel my policy with them. i have always been pleased with the personal quick attention i received from various agents over the years. kim is in charge of my various policies now, and i am so glad i can just send her an email when i need something and in a matter of hours the problem has been solved. i have had claims over the years including a fire and a lot of damnage during hurricane sandy. the fire occured when my father was dying and i didn't need those additional problems. it was an apartment rental that was almost totalled inside. my previous agent kitty set me up with a plan that would pay the rent for any of my apartments should this very thing happened. the day after the fire was a sunday and first thing that morning an agent from erie showed up at my house with a check for the next 4 months rent. now that's service. when i finally sold my fathers house the lady who bought it had many houses she rented so i told her about erie. she called and received much better prices with erie than she had with her current insurer so she switched. i would never change insurance companies, not only is my car insured there, but my home and apartment rentals and 2 life insurance polices. it's a one stop agency. read more

We have had our insurance with Yutz Merkle for a few years now, and have been very pleased with the service and cost of the insurance plans they have worked up for us. We recently put a new roof on our home and phoned them. Spoke to Ann-Marie and she had our insurance reduced for this new roof. Very pleased with that of course. We were surprised yet again last weekend when we purchased a new 2015 Honda CR-V. As we have been driving a Subaru Forester that was 11 years old we were expecting the worst as far as increased insurance costs.
