This is the place to go for all of your yoga needs-HANDS DOWN. They offer early AM yoga, vinyasa,…read moreyin, and other workshops too! OGY has a group of highly trained instructors who will lead the way and make sure you are reaching your fullest space potential. I will usually go to yin on Mondays with Andrea (which is excellent BTW) but I have had the pleasure of also taking classes w/ Alyssa, Jess, Sakinah, Allie, Teresa, & Lauren, all of which are terrific instructors. This is not the closest studio to me, by far, but I go b/c they are very welcoming and nurturing to their students & all who attend. I recently attended a workshop that incorporated sounds (low singing, crystal bowls, & other sound techniques) and enjoyed it w/ the exception of the higher pitched sounds which were only occasionally played. Other than that, the hands on reiki & crystal bowls and the moves were terrific. So special workshops are offered every month if you'd like to try something new. You can go on the app and register for a class like 2 weeks ahead of time or you can even drop in for a class and they can sign you up right there for the class. Drop in classes & passes are available. Passes make it easier to sign up for a class & cheaper too! The studio itself is clean and always welcoming with a pleasant smell. The restroom in the corner is clean. There are many community items that you can use (ie. mats. blocks, bolsters. etc.) if you dont have your own (everyone usually uses everything & brings their mats). I have met some great people at OGY and continue to enjoy my yoga sessions when I go. Kudos to Alyssa & Co. for building such a reputable place where people can go to create their zen.

The class I booked was a nice, slow paced yoga experience which I needed because it has been years since I've taken a yoga class. The room was small and there were quite a few people taking the class today so it felt a little cramped, but it didn't impact the yoga experience at all. The room was warm and nicely lit and decorated. The yoga instructor (and owner I believe) was very sweet, knowledgeable, and a good instructor. I was surprised she didn't ask anyone if they had any injuries or difficulties she should be aware of. I have a pre-existing back injury and I would've loved to get her variations to promote my beck flexibility while limiting pain. Overall, a nice little studio with a good instructor! I'll definitely be going back for a few more classes and I'll update my review if anything changes!

I came to this place 2x & one of the staff approached me saying that I should buy passes since I kept coming. I spent around $300-400 on 20 passes that never had an expiration date. When this studio suddenly closed with no notice to loyal members, I was left with 19 passes. I've been trying to get in contact with the studio (in any location) for months & emailed the owner multiple times prior to taking my review public. I am now taking the charge up with my bank to investigate this business & dispute this charge. Absolutely, ridiculous! They don't even have the business etiquette to present as closed online...

Nothing against other forms but I LOVE THE HEAT and feel rejuvenated when leaving those classes. That said, unfortunately for me its a solid 60 minute commute each way to get to this studio so for the near future at least I'm going to make the journey 2-3 x a week. Studio is VERY CLEAN, amazing mens locker room with plenty of lockers (bring own lock) 3 showers and 1 toilet. Had Mori on my first class and she was GREAT. After a few year hiatus it's gonna take a bit to get back to where I was but it is what it is. Plenty of parking, and A TON of shopping in the immediate area, studio is on the 2nd floor!!!!

While I just revisited after a few years thanks to a freebie, I've been to this studio a handful of times since living in Fishtown, but I imagine much more now that I live in Fishtown. It's like a ski chalet meets a yoga studio, with wooden interiors, gorgeous and bright rooms to practice, and just general great vibes. The locker rooms are a leetle small, but comfortable. The whole atmosphere is just open and welcoming, and I've enjoyed every class I've visited. New members can get a month for $40, to whet their yoga whistle. This is the steal of the century!

When we arrived at 11:50, the kittens were still not there. They were brought in by Morris Animal Refuge. All the proceeds from the class went directly towards the needs of the refuge. Once we were settled in and the kittens got acclimated, our instructor, Heather, gave some background about Morris Animal Refuge. She stated it was a beginner level class and there wouldn't be a need for props. The class was actually pretty fast paced for beginner level! Heather said she would conclude five minutes early to give us a chance to take photos and spend time with the cats. The cats were amazing, but I wish there were more of them. They mostly hung around at the front of the studio but the volunteers from Morris would grab them and bring them around so everyone had a chance to see them. There were a lot of people in attendance for just a few cats. Amrita provided a clean and pleasant environment and a comfortable temperature for the class.

Having been to many other yoga studios within the city, I have fine tuned my desires for what I feel that a yoga studio shall provide and MotherHeart most certainly meets my expectations. In each class, there is only a handful of students as opposed to tight quarters. This provides the students with more space to freely move throughout their asanas without feeling overwhelmed or anxious about bumping into your neighbor. Additionally, this humble space provides a feeling of affinity among the practitioners in that we are all closely connected merely through our practice and breath. The studio itself is always spotless and organized. The color scheme as well as the decor provides warmth and contentment. I always find myself lost in the subtle glow of the dim overhead lights. This is a place of refuge and solace. There is something to be said for the wisdom and experience of the teachers at MotherHeart as well as the energy that they bring to your practice. If you are seeking to connect with yourself on a deeper level and explore the foundations of Yoga, you can find that here.
