I purchased a 5 class package to try out the studio before committing to a membership. I've thoroughly enjoyed every class I've taken here and so happy to live right down the street. My journey started with a one on one reiki healing session and sound bath. My favorite classes are the 9am peace and relaxation hatha flows. It fills up pretty fast but after going I could understand why. Every instructor is so welcoming, gentle, and encouraging. It's been an amazing way to start my day. Update after Shawnas reply: "part of the conversation", because I didn't post the part where I texted "I'm downstairs gate is locked"? This IS the conversation. I still have the thread. As shown in the screenshot, the address was NOT included in email confirmation and I don't know what "receipt" she is talking about if I scheduled online. Screenshots clearly show that I wanted to at least put the $25 towards a future class and she denied that. I NEVER got a phone call from Shawna, she stopped replying to my texts. So not only is she unprofessional, she's a liar, that's cool. As seen in screenshots, I didn't look for a sign because I had been to that location before and didn't need to look for where it was exactly, I was concerned about being late and not getting upstairs. And the font size 6 doesn't look that small on my phone, I tried explaining that. I found the number when I thought I was locked out and didn't compare the address when all I did was tap "call" on Google *eye roll*. And saying she wanted to work with me is another lie; immediately denied putting my money towards another class, never showed any inkling of wanting to make things right. I try and attend every yoga for relaxation and stretching class with Shawna that I can possibly get to. The difference I can feel in my health and well being is huge! I feel like I've come from a massage after attending class- yet I have a much longer lived massage feeling and this is so much cheaper! There are classes for all sorts of yoga styles and activities. I take advantage of the affordable monthly membership attending multiple yoga classes including Yin and Power Yoga, sound healing and meditation sessions. On a good day I attend more than one event. I attended my first candlelight yoga class last night and it was wonderful. Shawna and her instructors are clear with their instructions during class and the uplifting messages are inspiring. Breath work and use of essential oils is also great. The studio is spacious, clean and well ventilated. read more

During that time, I have enjoyed the studio's commitment to the practice of yoga. They also offer reiki and instructor training in multiple styles of yoga. They offer a wide variety of apparel and yoga accessories including books, crystals, and essential oils. As an older practitioner, I appreciate the variety of classes that they offer, from the long, deep poses of Yin yoga to vigorous, energetic Vinyasa flows. In response to your comment. The point I'm trying to make is you didn't have it posted anywhere on schedulacity or I wouldn't have made a yelp review. We received a flier and there was no cancellation policy on that, it just said to schedule on schedulacity. I called multiple times from Monday to Thursday to speak with someone to see what was going on. You basically robbed us of $50. We paid for the class and we wanted to make it up since we had already paid. I received no receipt with a with a cancellation policy at all. No receipt was actually generated to my email. This is literally from a year ago. It's just the point that I didn't want a refund but to simply go to your class. We didn't want to spread any possible sickness in your studio. Its the least you could've done since we paid $50. It's just the ethical thing to do. read more

This is fantastic studio that is great for beginners or people who are looking to find peace and healing. Classes are always intentional and usually begin with a card for guidance and essential oil to help you focus on your own personal intention at practice. They offer a variety of classes: power yoga, yoga, peace and relaxation, 30 min on the go lunch time yoga and candlelight yoga (my new favorite). Music always sets the the tone for our practice in a studio that truly embodies all things yoga! Lots of wood, incense, plants. It is a mixture of raw materials and texture which creates a natural space to work on your practice. They also offer community enrichment classes like sound healing and reiki. I am waiting for a liver transplant and joined a few months ago to help me build some strength before my surgery and I am so happy I made the choice to go for it! I have taken yoga at community colleges and large gyms and I wasn't sure about joining all the "exclusive yogis" but I am thrilled that I did! She offers a special community where you can remain anonymous or make friends. This little studio saved my life in 2019/2020. I started attending the outdoor beach classes that were offered at the time in Imperial Beach. It was a time in my life when I felt despondent and broken and was in desperate need for a new beginning. From the first class I took with Shawna, I instantly felt a part of a community and able to be my authentic self. The classes are accessible for beginners, as well as engaging for long time practicing yogis. You can attend yoga classes anywhere, but what is special about Shawna is the meaningful, genuine, and relatable insight she provides in her classes. Even if you don't attend yoga for spiritual nourishment, you will leave feeling better than you arrived. Fast forward to now-- she has cultivated a remarkably comfortable and inviting new studio space filled with plants, wellness offerings, and retail for the conscious minded. They offer monthly membership at a super reasonable price for unlimited yoga, and reiki sessions at a good deal too! Amazing healers here. They also offer classes for yoga certification. I adore the plant of the week/month, they highlight a diff plant and its healing properties, and offer you a spritz during your treatment or class if you would like. You can feel the ocean breeze blowing thru the studio sometimes. They also host the yoga on the beach weekend festival every year, which I enjoyed immensely. Def recommend. I've been "flirting" with yoga for decades. This is the first place I've been that I keep wanting to go back to. So far, I've loved every class (having been to about 13 so far over about as many weeks). Shawna is very much present although she doesn't teach every class, allowing for different styles of teaching to be available. I've attended classes here and previously on the grasses at Imperial Beach for the past two years and have enjoyed the variety of Yoga class offerings. I've had nothing but great experiences at Yoga by Shawna. Classes are on time, staff are friendly and yoga teachers are knowledgeable and encouraging. I feel very comfortable at class even though I'm not very flexible, everyone can what is right for their bodies without pressure on the rest of the class. Each class I've attended is usually a mix of beginners and a few people with a little more experience. Go on in, leave your shoes by the door and put your mat in a spot where you will be comfortable. Yesterday went to the morning session and the instructor comes running in right at 9 saying she's sick and running fever over 100. She was coughing the whole time. Why would she show up and spread the flu like that. Yoga is supposed to be calmiing but it was not having to listen to all the coughing and worrying if would get sick. I attended her class at Tripower yoga in OB and she immediately had me convinced that this was the time!
