Chula Vista Yoga Center had classes that fit well for my schedule while I was in town, so I called it my home studio for the weekend. Signing up for the classes and checking in were a breeze. The studio was gorgeous, and I loved the inspiring wall murals and paintings inside the space. If I was local, I would certainly attend the monthly offerings including workshops, sound healing events, etc. I enjoyed the two classes I was able to take. Both classes were heated, and the teachers were awesome. For my first class I took Andre's Ashtanga class on Thursday at 10:30am. I used to practice Ashtanga regularly, so taking the class was like riding a bike. Andre modified the primary sequence, so I thought it was very accessible to yogis of all levels. The other class I was able to take over the weekend was Jackie's vinyasa flow at 8am on Saturday. She had such a creative, challenging flow and introduced an asana I've never done before. Lastly, customer service was excellent. The two front desk receptionist who assisted me on both days were very friendly and helpful.

One thing that makes this place different is their humidifier in the room. It's massive and makes a huge difference so I'm excited to get a hot class in soon. Tip: make sure to bring your own towel to clean your mat since they're eco-friendly and don't have disposable towels. They accept classpass but they're doing a special for Black Friday 11/28-30. Parking- there's street parking out front and thankfully I found a spot up the street.

Something to note is that there is only one park, so big dogs are combined with small ones. Theres a small obstacle course for dogs to jump and run through. And for the humans, there's also a few benches on the side to sit at.

There are four big pine trees with separate retaining walls around three of them for owners to sit down. With it being so close to the bay, there's often a nice breeze that goes through the park. There's no divide between small dogs and big dogs, so it's best to just keep an eye on your dog, and many owners around here are usually respectful. The street parking immediately adjacent to the park is free, however, it has a limit of 30 minutes, and the parking meter workers are strict on it if they're around. I bring my dog here around lunch time because those who live/ work in the area tend to bring their dogs during their break time and my dog gets his socialization time. They close 8am-11am MWF for maintenance/ cleaning. Currently, both gates are broken so it's not as secure as it should be, and who knows when the city will actually fix it. There're a few agility structures and a water dispenser. The children's park itself looks pretty cool for kids with a lot of structures with slides and swings. There's also another separate area with fixed exercise equipment that looks well- maintained. The water feature in the park is a water feature, not a pool.

Yelp, I can't say enough about how much i love Shawna and what an amazing teacher, healer, friend, and huge source of inspiration she is to me. Shawna and I did our first yoga teacher training together years ago...I wasn't to sure about this crass Jersey girl at first, whose down dog was far from perfect. But as i got to see her progress along her journey, the transformation has been, and still is astonishing. She's never been afraid to be vulnerable, always a teacher at heart (and former English teacher), yet a constantly evolving student. She was okay with being herself and has always stayed true to herself and followed her heart, which ultimately led her to teaching yoga. In the beginning of our training she had no intention of becoming a yoga teacher, and everyone around her reinforced this idea, but her heart disagreed and she was the one (out of our whole group) that made yoga her full time career, and has had amazing success. I've held onto the belief that i could never make teaching yoga a full time job, unless i want to be poor. Shawna has been the only person close to me that has had huge financial success and success in every area of her life due to her hard work, business ethics, unconditional love, hope for humanity, and her desire to help other heal. i idolize her life- she lives in a gorgeous beach front condo with the cutest dogs ever and gets to do what she loves AS HER JOB and is constant;y creating and allowing her ideas to blossom and flourish. She single handily created Chakra Camp, and a one of a kind teacher training, she has written books, she travels international teaching others, and the list goes on. I'm currently enrolled in her first Advanced Reiki Master program and it is one of the best things I've ever done, it is so unique and so rich with such great knowledge and has brought my Reiki to a level I never thought was even possible. It has challenged me and opened my eyes to new ideas, and brought my fears and weakness to the surface so i could release them and replace them with love and strength. I've had my own trials and tribulations through my life and Shanwa has been there for me good and bad, never judging, or criticizing, but through her ability to be honest and bring things to my attention in a loving way with empowerment and suggestion I have grown and learned lessons vital to my progression in life. For me she provides daily inspiration, and she is surely one of my idols. Taking a training with her will not only change the way you think about yoga it will transform your entire life. A TOTAL CHARLATAN .... she charges you top dollar for stuff she just googles on the internet and can come up with an impromptu class to charge you for..meanwhile, so many of her students have already spent thousands of dollars completing these other modalities and then she STEALS Your ideas and credentials using these MODUMS to teach as IF she is an expert, rather than inviting us to teach the true essence of these modalities that we have studied first hand. I'm 74, and looking for a healthy way to keep on, keeping on, when I found this AMAZING studio! At first I was afraid I wouldnt be able to do all the bending and twisting, never mind getting up and down from the floor but to my delight Shawna helps with modifiers and little tips and tricks for those of us who aren't so flexable. Since I have been going I have gained rang of motion in both my arms and legs, getting up and down off the floor......NO PROBLEM at all and I feel better than I have in years.! I was not really into yoga because a lot of people just do it for the exercise and I really wanted to learn through more of a spiritual way...you know connecting mind body and spirit...and this is exactly what she does! My fiance and I met Shawna a few years ago and since she has just skyrocketed in the yoga business taking yoga and this spiritual experience to a whole other level of reality. Omgosh this woman Is such an incredible Yoga Teacher, a true spiritual guide. Shawna is down to earth, relatable and does not posses that I'm to spiritual for you vibe. Her Vinyasa flows are completely invigorating with a acute attention to the breath. Her Hatha classes root you in the present moment as she guides you through breathwork with the singing bowls and tribal sounds filling the room. She is also a Reiki Master and Intuitive Healer. I took a gentle class this Friday am as I face a very busy and stressful weekend. It was so perfect: slow, gentle poses with lots of deep breathing reminders. Background support " music" was perfect and the gentle gong and bowl sounds allowed the vibrations to just be an perfect additional gift. Members are friendly, staff was welcoming and the setting allows for full envelopment for the miracles of yoga to happen. I purchased the 5 session packet which seems to work best for my schedule but will likley purchase the 10 session packet next time. Yoga with Shawna is a jewel in Imperial Beach. I take advantage of the affordable monthly membership attending multiple yoga classes including Yin and Power Yoga, sound healing sessions and meditation sessions. On a good day I attend more than one event. I attended my first candlelight yoga last night and it was wonderful. Shawna and her instructors are wonderful. I enjoy the uplifting messages, clear instructions during class and incorporation of different breathing techniques and essential oils. The studio is spacious, clean and well ventilated. I took Shawna's SUP teacher training course in May 2015. It was a great experience. I loved the small class atmosphere where we were able to learn from each other as well as Shawna was able to give each of us individual attention. While in San Diego, I also took one of her beach yoga classes. I've been practicing yoga for more than 15 years and teaching more than 6 years. I've done reiki with other practitioners and she's absolutely the best! There's like 4 different levels of Reiki masters and Ali is at the highest level. Many practitioners are in the level 1 and 2's and do not have as much healing powers as the higher level masters. Ali is super insightful and knowledgeable and she understands intuitively the energies of the body. Highly recommend, Ali is the real deal!

I first took the yoga sculpt (not heated) class and got a great workout. They offer an essential oil disinfectant spray for your mats. One thing that makes this place different is their humidifier in the room. It's massive and makes a huge difference so I'm excited to get a hot class in soon. Tip: make sure to bring your own towel to clean your mat since they're eco-friendly and don't have disposable towels. They accept classpass but they're doing a special for Black Friday 11/28-30. Parking- there's street parking out front and thankfully I found a spot up the street.

The only two downsides is the parking, get there early to grab a spot. When i attended class, there wasn't an extra employee to help unlock the door and welcome people in. Only the instructor. She is super sweet though. I loved her playlist and teaching style. If you're looking for a good HIIT workout and want to sweat, this place is for you!

They are very nice people- wonderfully patient instructors. Eddie is laid back in demeanor, played reggae music at my first session, but lead us through a demanding and fun workout. Nati and Paulina strike me as maybe more traditional instructors- both leading a workout that was spiritual as well as physically demanding- Nati ends the sessions with a sound bath that is wonderful after the effort. I appreciate all 3 instructors. The studio is the perfect size, has mats and everything necessary for a beginning student (a yogi?). I already committed to going there for the next 3 months- something I hadn't been inspired to do at the other two studios I sampled. Kula means community and I think they've made a nice community here in Chula Vista- even inflexible lawyers like me are welcome!

I was staying in Chula Vista during a recent trip down to SoCal, and the first thing I wanted to do…read morewas go to yoga. I dropped my luggage at my friend's and found a couple of nearby yoga studios. Chula Vista Yoga Center had classes that fit well for my schedule while I was in town, so I called it my home studio for the weekend. Signing up for the classes and checking in were a breeze. The studio was gorgeous, and I loved the inspiring wall murals and paintings inside the space. If I was local, I would certainly attend the monthly offerings including workshops, sound healing events, etc. I enjoyed the two classes I was able to take. Both classes were heated, and the teachers were awesome. For my first class I took Andre's Ashtanga class on Thursday at 10:30am. I used to practice Ashtanga regularly, so taking the class was like riding a bike. Andre modified the primary sequence, so I thought it was very accessible to yogis of all levels. The other class I was able to take over the weekend was Jackie's vinyasa flow at 8am on Saturday. She had such a creative, challenging flow and introduced an asana I've never done before. Lastly, customer service was excellent. The two front desk receptionist who assisted me on both days were very friendly and helpful.

She loves the…read moreheated space, the traditional Bikram Yoga approach, and the humidity and temperature, which are both healing and invigorating. Sonia is an outstanding business owner, and every instructor is truly top-notch. One thing we really appreciate is the consistency--classes are never canceled, and the schedule is reliable, so there's never any guesswork. Another added bonus is the facility itself: the showers are clean, classes start and end on time, and there's plenty of parking in a safe neighborhood. Bikram Yoga has genuinely changed our lives for the better. After years of running and military service, my wife experiences far less physical pain and is more joyful, allowing her to thrive as a busy mom, professional, and athlete. Thank you, Sonia, for creating and maintaining Bonita Hot Yoga.

I have been going to Bonita Pilates for years and I have seen significant improvements in my strength, flexibility, and overall well-being, and I can't recommend them highly enough!

Make sure to check which Chula Vista location your class is at. I made the mistake of thinking…read morethere was only 1 location and went to the wrong one. Thankfully we arrived early to one location and the toll road got us to the correct location in 6 min right at the start of class. We got lucky with parking up front but it's shared with a bunch of other businesses so always leave yourself with enough time. Jasmine was our instructor for the yin yoga class. She explained which items to grab for the session and made room for us. Both me and my husband felt super relaxed during and after the class. It's the perfect relaxation for the mind and body after a long day of work. She ended the session with a sound bowl that was nice. Definitely recommend this class and location especially since they offer it through classpass Next time, I'm going to try one of their loud boot camp type classes that was happening across the hallway. It had a fun vibe to it with weights!
