Luchi no longer owns the salon. Pretty much all of the girls like Luchi, Arelis, Bianca and etc all work at Serenity Salon at 1600 S. Broad Street. Serenity Salon is smaller, but the vibe is better and the prices are a whole lot better. When I'm in town, I'll always follow Arelis. It's just my take. But I noticed a lot of negative reviews lately and thought I'd update everyone to let them know this is a completely different salon with a new owner and service. If you want the same historical service from years prior, you'll have to go to serenity salon.

I went there to…read moreget my hair dyed, get my ends clipped and to get my hair curled. upon arrival I let them know that I am severely allergic to PPD that's in the dye the first thing that the receptionist said was "it's still going to be the same price" I told her I didn't care about the price I just wanted to ensure that I didn't have an allergic reaction she offered me their organic dye I looked at the back of the ingredients and told her no thank you because I can't ensure that I won't have an allergic reaction. she claimed that she let the stylist know however whatever the stylist mixed the dye up with I still ended up having an allergic reaction my forhead has bumps on it my scalp is on fire from burning there is red sores throughout my head. I tried to wash my hair and put aloe oil on my scalp however this has been going on every since Friday 10/18 and today is 10/23 and I'm still experiencing burning and itching throughout my scalp.I spoke to an individual on 10/22/24 and let him know what happened and he said that's horrible he would inform the owner Ruth of what happened and because I had a bad experience see that I get my Money back. Well 10/23 I receive a phone call where that same receptionist is telling me that there is nothing that they will do because she did her job and told me that they couldn't guarantee the product will work. this is a dye that I always use and never had a reaction to. She said that "if I dye my hair on the regular than I will know that I have to use a peroxide developer " however if someone come in saying that they have an allergy to something before you decide to take the product in the back and start mixing things you should review the ingredients with the client instead of just mixing something together just because it says organic. I am a very understanding person and understand accidents happen but Not one time did her or the owner apologize for what happen not one time did they express any concern other than being in defense mode. This is very disheartening to know that I am experiencing a bad allergic reaction and the salon people that mixed my safe product with the product of their choice is showing no type of sympathy or providing any type of solution is very upsetting. They was better off acknowledging what happened apologizing and offering a solution and I would of been happy with that. I will now take progressive action.

I was late for my first appointment (and I am really sorry about it Melissa, if you ever get to read this review) with her last week, but she was thorough with her protocol, no shortcuts or cutting corners. She washed my hair (thoroughly, washed twice and conditioner), consulted with me about my haircut patiently and blow dried it the way I requested. I went back today and the same consistent awesome work with blow dry! Very happy with my look and hair!

They sanitize the chair after each haircut, temp check prior to entering and face mask is worn at all times. I have been growing my hair since March and have finally gathered the courage to get my hair cut. 6 months worth of my hair felt like an animal has nestled on top on my head. Subject: Unacceptable Service Standards and Operational Failures 21 Aug 2026…read moreDear Metropolitan Spa and Salon Management, I am writing to formally outline the extremely poor level of service and lack of basic hospitality I experienced during my recent appointment at your salon. As someone who oversees business operations across both the US and Australian markets, I know firsthand that premium pricing must be matched by a cohesive, high-standard customer experience. My visit demonstrated a complete failure on this front, characterized by a disjointed assembly-line process and an unprofessional staff. Here are some of the issues from my appointment: * Unjustified Pricing for Junior Staff: I was charged $177 solely for a root color and gloss, performed by an assistant. Charging a premium rate for a junior talent's chemical service--without even including a basic finishing service--is a remarkably poor value. * Unprofessional Conduct: When my hair was washed, I was left with wet hair Sitting in the chair waiting for some to dry my hair. Note I was not booked for a blow out or a styling and was not expecting to be given a blow dry or blow out. But I was also not expecting to be told wet hair just towel dabbed is the end of the servic without the rough dry. in fact I have never asked to be given a rough dry after a color service. Somehow AT AGE 53 with 35 years of coloring my hair in salons of all grades in 5 countries such as UK, Australia, India, PakiStan and the US, this was the first for me. Upon asking about a basic rough dry, I was informed it was simply not included and blow drying of hair (not blowout) is an extra charge and explicitly told that if I wanted a rough dry, I should do it myself. Directing a paying client to finish their own service is completely unacceptable. * Operational Disconnect: After I was eventually offered a "complimentary" dry, I was passed off to a third stylist. The person washing my hair had explicitly set aside a drying prep product for me, which the third stylist completely ignored. This lack of internal communication defeats the purpose of high-end, personalized care. * Lack of Basic Hospitality: At a premium price point, standard hospitality dictates offering a beverage menu (coffee, tea, etc.) for a lengthy chemical service. While a glass of water was brought to me, the bare minimum effort was evident throughout my entire time in the chair. I have received salon services in multiple countries, and I have never encountered a business model where a client is nearly sent out the door with wet, unkempt hair. Your salon appears to be relying on its Princeton zip code rather than delivering actual luxury service. Letting clients leave your establishment looking unfinished--and treating them as an inconvenience when they expect basic professional courtesy--is a rapid way to damage your brand's reputation and client retention. I am sharing this so you are fully aware of the substandard environment currently operating on your floor. This is a genuine experience from a person who should not have been allowed to leave as they did and paying $177, in a "luxury" salon. I will not be returning to this salon. I am not someone who wants anything for free or "complimentary" such as rough dry hair Especially in a luxury high end salon.

The shower stall had no shampoo, body wash or conditioner. There are two lights over the vanity and one is out. Many of the amenities like hair ties and shower caps are no more. I could always justify the prices because of the services and spa environment. Super disappointed this time.
