I even brought to his attention that another car was right next to me that lacked a front license plate as well but the officer was laser focused on me. The Lt. even told me the officer was doing what he was supposed to be doing as they received a grant specifically for stopping citizens that don't have front license plates. I found this unbelievable as in a city with such a high violent crime rate that any grant money should be spent on keeping citizens safe rather than trying to generate income with stops for no front plate. But again this stop was because this officer saw a young black man in a nice car and thought I had drugs in the car.

The awesome thing about writing reviews is the writer can attack the content any way they choose…read more This review will not have crime statistics although I think Virginia Beach is much better than most cities of its size. I'm going to touch on a few randoms and personal instances I've had with local law enforcement. Today was National Coffee with a Cop Day. This was established in 2011 to strengthen law enforcement relations with citizens. VBPD participated. Several uniform officers including Third Precinct Community Liaison Officer Nieves was on hand. It was informal and an opportunity to chat about any local concerns. It was the first one that I've attended. I've had two negative direct interactions with VBPD uniform officers. One an expired inspection sticker displayed. The other a speeding ticket. Both handled with the highest level of professionalism. No I'll will, I was wrong. Other interactions with the VBPD have been in the community with outreach such as in schools and the coffee shop talk this morning. The rank and file speak, look and handle themselves professionally and with dignity in my experience. I'm proud to be a resident of Virginia Beach and witness the good they do everyday in the city. Many may not know this, but VBPD have several programs to connect to its residents. For teens there is a 4-5 month after school program to learn about law enforcement. This program begins this month. Adults there are Citizens Defense workshops and other programs throughout the year. The city also offers officer ride alongs with the release of a liability waiver. I have long been interested in this program. I have done this with other cities and it's a unique perspective. Finally I will conclude with something I saw while driving in Virginia Beach recently. How often do you see an outrageous driver doing something idiotic and want to perform a citizens arrest? Well at least wish there was a cop to witness the violation. I saw a SUV barreling down a grass median to go around a stopped line of cars to make a turn arrow. Guess who was directly behind him...yep! VBPD red and blue lights. The cop immediately pulled the driver over. Watching sweet justice served right in front of your eyes is darn cool. To those that say there are "bad apples" in law enforcement I would agree. But this holds true of any organization and does not mean its representative of police as a whole. I have donated to FOP and other groups because I support the difficulties and challenges they have performing their duties. Thank you for your service Officer Nieves and the other cops that attended the event this morning. Virgina Beach PD have a culture we can be proud of. Police deserve our respect and gratitude short and simple.

Before I even got all the way to the window, she already knew what I was thete for. I asked her how she knew but she recognized the form in my hand from a good distance away. I can't see anything significant on the form that would give that away, but good on her for her experience. She was very knowledgeable and shared whatever information she could. Very pleasant and quick experience!

There is metered street parking and a few commercial lots within walking distance that you can park at to visit here. The meters cost about $2/ hour and the lots vary in price depending on what is going on and the season. The center piece of the memorial is a sculpture that was designed by Paul DiPasquale, the artist who also created the world famous King Neptune Statue, just down the boardwalk. It was dedicated in 2012 and is in great shape. The statue depicts 3 officer representing the Virginia Beach Police Department, the Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office and the state and federal agencies, extending their hands down to help others, while their arms are interlocked at the center. Individual plaques provide details of each fallen officer's line-of-duty death. You will find the names of fallen officers are inscribed on the granite base of the memorial and Individual plaques on granite slabs, providing details of each fallen officer's line-of-duty death. Additionally, there is a granite wall with law enforcement pictures engraved on it and another wall acknowledging donors. This memorial is illuminated at night and sadly, has to have camera coverage to protect against potential vandals. It is meant to be a peaceful place to pay respects and reflect. It is a tad off of the boardwalk but over still is able to overlook the water. It is a very fitting tribute to the heroes in blue that paid the ultimate sacrifice. It would be a wonderful thing if there are no more names added to this memorial. This will probably not be a very long stop, so I recommend making this part of a larger itinerary. You could start with coupling it with a visit to the boardwalk, the nearby King Neptune sculpture and the Navy SEAL memorial.

I attempted to prosecute a stalking case for 14 years through this department. This included making…read morein-person visits to the station, speaking with officers using body cameras, and many calls to the non-emergency number to speak with deputies. About 60 percent of the time, I spoke with communications assistants, and deputies the other 40 percent. Of central focus was the electronic harassment, which consisted of daily and nightly blitzing of wires throughout the house, often accompanied by a thundering ticker tape that broadcast announcements like a P.A. system at a school. I grew up in my home in Callao and never had anything like this until I moved back to the area in 2007. Since then, it's been a nightmare. The stalking started in Reston at a rented condo shortly before that. It seemed to follow behind me. Also prevalent was a huge dead weight that I seemed to drag around all the time. It felt like I was carrying a second person in me. To my horror, this was multiplied many times by subsequent weights on my back. I felt like a bullock with no restitution. Magnified was extreme sexual abuse from these "weights," from desperate eating, to anilingus, to painful penetrations, front and back. What could I possibly have done to deserve this? Nothing! I had no criminal record and a good reputation in my worklife. I didn't even see this coming, but I was warned a few months before it began, simply, that someone might be stalking me, and I was in danger. Try explaining all this to a small-town police department that has constantly brought up every possible thing they could find to use against me, like it's a political race, and I'm the opponent. They were supposed to support me as a crime victim. They treated me like I was doing all of this to myself. It became clear over time that some of my blood relations were participating in this case against me. Namely, that they had taken money from someone in the city to conduct a lifetime of surveillance against me, including all of the incidents I have described, plus theft of my personal computer, and identity theft. My i.d. was given out as "free" by a disgruntled FBI agent who wanted to extend his use of me without me knowing about it. This agent was the son of an in-law who was an office manager at the DC office. He has never met me or asked to make use of me. I don't work in law enforcement anyway, so he could never use me without permission. So, the end result was that I sat at my home in Callao from 2007-2024, clutching my chest half the time with painful diapraphm pressure that radiated all the way back to my spine. Someone would lift this up rarely and beat the area again, then put it back into place for 24/7 misery. Was I being beaten by the police? I'm not sure. In my mind, it may have had something to do with a criminal family that I had rented from. They seemed so nice, I had no idea they might be white-collar criminals. To exacerbate the problem, I was told that I was a criminal myself who deserved everything bad in life. A male relative and his family supposedly "broke into" my home hundreds of times a day using this form of electronic trespass. To my face, though, they were cowardly and timid, nervously looking all around instead of at me, or shifting their feet as if they were scuffing them against a doormat. There has even been a rumor that they can get access to me in my sleep and put their mouths on my body, instead of letting me go out normally and meet someone to have a relationship with. This would be incest, but the police will not prosecute it. Since I have never thought of any of my relatives sexually, it has been a horror to experience this form of rape. Now, what would you think if I told you that, at the time this began, I had just gotten my passport and was about to fly to Europe, the trip of a lifetime. I had waited for that moment all my life. I was going to begin the next phase of life getting film and video skills. I have always believed that, at the core of this problem, there was a great deal of jealousy. I forgot to mention that I was in and out of hospitals in the summer of 2007 with heart attack symptoms, but they were swept under the rug by a former boss as "anxiety disorder," since she worked for an anxiety disorder association. It turned out to, in fact, be cardiac, but I had been denied medical care for many years because I was held back through this woman and her anxiety group. She was with agents in Montgomery County, Md., in a conservative Jewish community that has plagued me for years. I'm writing this because I live with this daily. Today is my birthday, and I'm fending off furious eating and demands to stop my heart if I don't stop reporting them. At the same time, I am told that I can't ever meet anyone because the furious ass eaters, who have never identified themselves, would be jealous if I had a normal relationship, friends, or dated. A classic stalking case, isn't it? Terribly handled, and so, ongoing.
