Our family really enjoys eating at Yosaku. The price for the buffet is great. Less than $10 for an all you can eat buffet? Get out of town! The food is pretty standard Chinese. The good news though is they have a smaller buffet with a limited amount of selection but they restock regularly. The buffet isn't overwhelming and you are sure to find what you want. Don't waste your time trying to get lunch. I have been there several times and over half of the buffet trays were empty. Today they only had three choices prepared. Food was average items found on Chinese Buffet. Sushi was not fresh or well chilled. Mostly rice and very little fish wrapped within. Egg rolls were very tasty and not over cooked. General Taos Chicken was "tough" and hard to chew. The sauce was excellent tho and made it worth the effort. Lo mien noodles were just luke warm with a bland flavor. Looks to be a local spot with frequent customers, college students, and seniors. Went around 1pm on a Friday and it wasn't crowded but there was still a decent amount of people there, many having leisure lunches with friends. I knocked it a 1 star because we had no idea what to do when we arrived, there was no sign to indicate whether we sat ourselves or not. The waitress wasn't super friendly and was hard to understand, she just pointed to a table. We still weren't sure if she wanted us to go sit or follow her, eventually we figured it out - she will seat you. Passed it many times without stopping in to give it a try. Big mistake! My wife suggested we give a try so we brought home 'to go' dinners tonight and we'll be back soon and often. An unusually extensive Japanese cuisine is offered so we ordered both a couple of different sushi rolls and the hibachi-prepared steak. The sushi rolls are exceptional and the steak & fried rice was uber tasty and more than ample. Great staff, it's clean as a whistle and the prices are incredibly low. Hubby, the kiddo & I were looking to try something new and found this restaurant online. I checked out the reviews for this place and I wouldn't agree with anything negative posted. This is the only other place in Anderson I will go for sushi. Today we decided to try a few things including a shrimp tempura roll, a rainbow roll, the pink lady roll and the Indy 500 roll. My 10 yr old daughter tried one of my pink lady rolls and loved it. That cream cheese flavor was amazing. Also, I went ahead and tried the shrimp eggrolls which were absolutely delicious! The only thing I would say is I am a person who cannot handle spicy foods and I did not feel like some of the rolls were as spicy as listed. Very affordable. If you are looking for a classy-looking sushi restaurant, this probably isn't the high society place for you. That having been said, the restaurant is clean and cute. They don't have wait staff, so you walk in and order right away. We ordered a rainbow, dragon, Philadelphia, and eel & cucumber rolls. The food was definitely above average. Sushi was solid, and priced fairly. This is way better than the Gas Station sushi that you get at Ninja. If you aren't trying to drive to Muncie or down towards Indianapolis, this is the perfect place. A great little spot in Anderson that I hope takes off. Good sushi. Very fast service. Was passing through Anderson and decided to stop here bc everyone raved about the sushi and the buffet, saying it was amazing and the best in town. We get there, and, wow. If this is what passes as amazing 45 mins from me in a town 10 times bigger than mine, there's something wrong. First impressions- it's in an old Rax restaurant and the parking lot was filthy. Inside, friendly service, but the restaurant was very dingy. Tacky vinyl sticker decor on the walls. Bathroom had fecal matter on the toilet. The buffet was tiny. Most things were barely warm. General tso was pretty good. Peking chicken was good. Most things were decent, but nothing to write home about, but fine. The sushi? 2 trays of Cali rolls, and a tray of deep fried something w eel sauce on it. There were several pieces piled on so they didn't have to refill it. 2 options, neither great. You can get better frozen at Aldi. They also charge extra for ice cream. Discounted w buffet, twice as much without. Ice cream at a buffet is frequently a given, so charging for it seems strange. Also, a heat lamp bulb went out on the buffet, and a woman just stood there, smacking it into place repeatedly, over the food, probably dislodging dust and could've sent shards of glass into the food, but luckily not this time. read more

Go here! I got a call from my F.I.L about this place and he couldn't stop raving about it! So the next day my husband and I checked it out. Wow! We are super picky about our Japanese/Chinese restaurants and this place hit the nail on the head. I always have to ask for salt for my egg drop soup in most places, not here, the soup had so much flavor and the consistency was even. No chunks and not slimmy! My husband had the General Tso's chicken, which wasn't soggy and had a nice crisp to the breading with a sweet sauce that had a spice to it. (according to the menu, you can get different strengths of spice) I ordered the Indy500 and the Delicious fried sushi rolls, along with the spicy salmon roll. Both fried rolls had a great presentation with eel and yum yum sauce. Each one having its own unique flavor. The spicy tuna roll was fresh and had a light flavor letting the salmon take the lead. Side not, it's hard to find a place that has a good pickled ginger. It's usually either to bland or to strong of a ginger taste to really cleanse the palate and be enjoyable. This stuff was so fresh and balanced, I could have taken a jar home! There was enough food left over to take a box home of General Tso's and egg rolls. Their decor was clean and simple with a natural feel. Not cluttered and lots of space for big groups! We will definitely be back here and tell people about it! It's okay. Quantity over quality seems to be the goal. I have been a couple of times now, and the first time shortly after opening was better, but still not great. The hibachi lunch comes with a good amount of food, but the fried rice is bland and the shrimp and veggies sit in a puddle of soupy sauce. The sauce had a good flavor, but there are no other characteristics of a hibachi meal: no char on veggies or meat, no sauce caramelization, and the shrimp have the rubbery texture and faint hint of fishiness of frozen, precooked shrimp. My side tuna roll was depressingly small, smaller than the diameter of a quarter, too high of rice to fish ratio, and I couldn't even taste the fish at all. It's not worth it. Disappointing because it's close to my work and I can walk here, but I would rather drive farther for better food at the same price. read more
