It was my mistake booking through Priceline, I should have known better, but I certainly expected better service from a five star hotel. Management could care less about my predicament and consistently refused to make a phone call on my behalf. I spent an entire day on the phone with Priceline, who was willing to correct the situation, but unable to reach the appropriate staff As a result, I did not have the planned extra bedroom, Kitchenette or dining table (that I reserved and paid for!) and we had to make last minute arrangements. I have worked in hospitality for over ten years and can confirm that Hilton Bomonti is NOT hospitable.

As a result they offered me a hotel stay until my next flight. Turkish airlines made all of the arrangements and provided transportation to the hotel. The hotel itself was nice but in the middle of nowhere. The area the hotel was located at was definitely not a tourist area and had not one store nearby. Everything was under construction in the area. The rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. There was also a restaurant where offered complimentary breakfast and lunch. I had no complaints about the hotel but I don't lab on returning simply because of the location.

We were greeted at the door by Ertan, the front desk staff on the weekend, and everyone we met was smiling, friendly, and professional! We had booked only two days before, but our rooms were side-by-side on the third floor and were ready early for us to check in. We were walking distance to the Grand Bazaar, the blue mosque, the trolley, and much much more. Halil, the headwaiter, was amazing! As was Handan, the cook in the rooftop terrace café/breakfast area. And what a wonderful rooftop terrace it was! I spent many hours there, both while enjoying wonderful breakfasts and Turkish tea and coffee, as well as while reading in the shade, looking out over the water and the rooftops of old town Istanbul. This is a wonderful place to stay if you want to explore the older part of Istanbul. Halil, Handan, and Ertan were especially outstanding during our stay, providing helpful advice, service, and friendship. I can't wait to come here again and stay at hotel Niles! A first great impression I will never forget. I absolutely loved the look of the hotel. It's exactly what I was looking for. It has a lot of personality and you feel like you're in Turkey. Beautiful architecture and intricate designs everywhere you look. The rooftop terrace was especially my favorite. All of the staff kept asking if we needed anything. Kemal provided us with so much information about where to go and directions on how to get to all of the destinations. There is a complimentary breakfast offer every morning. This was very convenient and the food tasted great. On one of our stays, Halil, greeted us back into the hotel after an exhausting day shopping at the grand bazaar. When we were in our room, Halil knocked on our door and surprised us with hot tea and a cut-up cheese stuffed Simit. We were so excited and we will never forget the top-notch service they all constantly provided us with. Also, we are animal lovers. There were two kittens living outside of Hotel Niles. The staff made a box for the kittens and fed them and provided them with water every day. We loved that. Shows how much they care =) The location of the hotel is excellent. All we had to do was walk up the street and we were at the grand bazaar, a tram station that you can take to get to other parts of Istanbul. Also, if you walk up the street, you will run into never-ending shops and kabob spots. It's amazing! Super convenient. I plan to come and stay at this hotel again. I miss it so much! It is also close to ferry lines and tram lines in case you don't wish to walk as much. The rooms are quite comfortable and there is an ample breakfast buffet that is about $30 USD per person (unless you have a rate that includes it). The breakfast choices were extensive. Staff if very professional and friendly. The only thing that I would have like to have seen different was the way people are informed of the charge for breakfast. Perhaps people have walked out without paying or later acted as if they didn't know, but twice we had staff hovering over us with the bill appearing like they worried we were going to not sign the check. If that was the issue, it could be remedied by having the paying guests sign before sitting down.

Staff are friendly. They even brought us complimentary cake for the birthdays we were celebrating. 75 euro for private airport transfer which is what we did for both trips from and to the IST airport. You can book through the concierge. Concierge also helped us book a Bosphorus Cruise for sunset and only costs 19 euro per person. Fun 3 hours in the evening!

We were traveling with a family of four and a family of three, and had reserved appropriately sized rooms. Instead, we were given tiny, cramped rooms that barely fit two people. Yet the hotel still charged us extra for the additional guests--with zero regard for the fact that the rooms were completely inadequate. Even worse, the rooms--and the hallways--were filled with a strong, nauseating smell of cigarette smoke. The rooms were supposedly non-smoking, but it was clear that nothing had been done to enforce or maintain that standard. If we had stayed longer, our young daughter would have gotten sick from the constant exposure to the smoke. It was that bad. The management was nowhere to be found, and the staff showed absolutely no concern or effort to fix anything. Every complaint was met with cold indifference. Not only were we forced to leave the hotel due to the conditions, but we are still fighting with the hotel to receive a refund for the remaining nights they failed to deliver on. This hotel is a disgrace to the Marriott name. It is run with no care for the guest experience, no attention to cleanliness or comfort, and absolutely no accountability. If you care about your health, your comfort, and your money--avoid this hotel at all costs. There are far better options in Istanbul. This was the worst hotel experience we've ever had.

I was given a card key that didn't work for my room (light turned red instead of green), and the door unlocked on its own when I pushed it open. When I called the front desk about my card key and how my room lock is broken, the man came up and gave me correct keys and said that the room will lock. He gave me 2 keys this time and they both worked (light turned green) but the door still could be opened from the outside when i budged it without the deadbolt from the inside. Room had a view of the freeway and ocean. It's the type of room that requires your card to activate the electric in the room. WiFi didn't work with my last name and room number at first but i called the front desk and they fixed the issue within 5 minutes. WiFi was inconsistent from my room but still useable. Dinner was tasty. Didn't have a choice for food but the food was great anyway. They served red lentil soup, salad, chicken and rice with a tomato for the main course. Breakfast was good as well. Had tea and an omelette with everything on it from the omelette bar, potatoes, some pastries, and a man served me a pancake with a hazelnut/chocolate spread and pistachios to me at my table. I didn't ask for this but somehow he knew I'd like this because I do have a sweet tooth. From checking in to airport shuttle drop off it was a great experience so much that if i was ever back in Istanbul I'd stay here.

I flew out and had a horrible experience sitting next to a nervous passenger who kept on bumping into me during the entire flight. My taxi ride from the airport to this hotel was long. It took two hours. My taxi driver apologized for the delay, as traffic seemed even worse than being in the greater Toronto area! As soon as I got out of the taxi, staff were immediately helping me get my suitcase to the front desk. When I got there, I asked the person to call my boyfriend to come downstairs. Security is fairly tight at this hotel. There is security personnel outside. The front desk asked for my passport, to make a copy of it. After all that process stuff was taken care of, we headed up the elevator. We were on the 32nd floor, which also happens to be where the executive lounge is. I basically put down my computer bag, tipped the bellhop, and headed over to the lounge. I was hungry! You get lounge access when you are a gold or platinum elite member. I was neither at the time. However, my boyfriend was a gold elite member. The lounge is cheerful, with a beautiful view of the city. The food choices were great and complimentary. Beverages are free, including alcohol. Snacks are available late at night, too. Our room was amazing. The bathroom is marble.There was a toilet and a bidet. The shower had a huge marble bench if you felt like sitting there to get a sauna effect or just relax. The closet had motion sensors that activated the lighting. Our king bed was comfortable. It was a fancy room, with a spectacular view of the city. I can't say enough about staff here. One day, I went downstairs to ask where there was an ATM. The helpful woman personally took me over to where the machine was. I just wanted instructions, but she went all out to help me out, which I appreciated. The ATM was also where the business centre was. I spent an hour one day using the Turkish keyboard (so different and difficult to get used to) to check my e-mail. You can also read there, as there is a mini library with some comfy chairs to lounge in. I loved my stay here. You get complimentary white robes and slippers.
