We love You Can Dance studio because of the high quality international star teacher line-up. We've enjoyed group and private lessons in the studio as well as on-line classes. A great place to brush-up on our ballroom dance skills in preparation for cruises, YCD monthly parties, and occasional club events. Anna's LIT exercise class has improved our balance, core and posture which contributes greatly to our ballroom dance ability. Konstantin teaches many creative dance steps that can be interwoven into interesting routines. Katya takes whatever time is needed so all students can master her elegant ballroom sequences. They take kids of all ages and the staff is very professional A There teacher is amazing and my girls love her. Both say they want to be dance teachers when they grow up now. lol. If you're a beginner and have never gotten dance lessons like my fiance and me, and don't want to do the "slow dance shuffle" for your first dance at your wedding, this is the place to go!!! Our instructor was Alina and YCD hooked us up with a special 2 for 1 deal which allowed us to get 2 45-minute private lessons for the price of 1 ($99). This was great as it allowed us to get an uninterrupted 1.5 hour lesson. Alina was patient, fun, extremely helpful and HONEST. She told us when something looked bad and helped us to fix it. I've seen first dances at weddings where the bride/groom had taken a dance lesson or two together, but none of them looked that polished or impressive and some had weird/funky moves. I have to say that Alina really helped us to learn a dance that goes with the song we chose, looks great, and best of all, looks like we spent a lot of time and money learning, but actually only took one lesson and some practice at home. At the end of the lesson, she taped us dancing with instruction in the background so we don't forget and can continue practicing prior to the wedding which was KEY! Last thing - we arrived 10 minutes late to our 1.5 hr appointment and we ended up with actual dance time of 1 hr 45 minutes, so she basically spent almost 2 hours there for us. Much appreciated! My fiancé and I realized we needed some help for our first dance. A coworker of mine had taken lessons from Sasha at the studio and at her wedding, their dance was so beautiful, flawless and wasn't forced by any means. It was a no brainer to contact the studio, and we were lucky enough to be set up with Katya, Sasha's wife. I was so nervous for our first lesson since I have a pretty bad back injury, Katya couldn't have made me feel more comfortable during our lesson and kept checking in with both of us through out. When I would mess up, she would calmly pause and help me get through a set till I was confident to move to the next part. My fiancé did so well, and during each lesson we film the part of the dance we learned so we can practice at home. By the end of our first lesson, I couldn't believe how comfortable we both looked and felt! A lot of fun and I'm hooked! I started with a class through the dance club from work composed of students with no experience to years of experience. Irina and Matt taught so that everyone got something out of the class - whether figuring out what the basic step was or adding technique and style to your dance. After that class I signed up for a sampler package and tried many of their group classes and they are all outstanding. (Salsa night and Advanced Smooth Technique are quite the workouts.) read more

My wife really wanted to take dance lessons in preparation for our first dance at our wedding reception. However, I wasn't into it. I figured that we would just do a simple slow dance or improvise. But she found You Can Dance Studio and we decided to check it out. We were introduced to Adam Jona, who was very friendly and happy to help us. Even though we were technically "beginner" level, Adam created a routine that was perfectly suited for us. As we progressed, Adam would point out simple techniques and fundamentals that would improve our posture and transitions. He was very patient with us and extremely positive. We ended up having three lessons with Adam over the course of two weeks. From the time we first walked into the studio to when we walked out after our last session, it was like night and day. This review is definitely overdue... My husband and I took dance lessons with Robert Porch before our wedding. Robert was absolutely GREAT! We wanted to do something a little different and more upbeat and fun than your traditional first dance. Robert put together and taught us a dance that was perfect for us! Matt was amazing! He did a great job putting together a short little choreographed dance for our first dance at our wedding. We took 5 lessons with him which turned out to be part teaching and part pep talks from him! Neither my husband nor I "like" to dance and we definitely didn't want to be the center of attention (though there was no way out of that, short of foregoing the first dance). His choreography was the perfect combination of steps that we could do and be comfortable enough with and yet enough to get "oohs and aahs" from our guests. What he created for us really did allow us focus just on each other and made it very easy to not think about anyone around us while we danced. He has a great personality and is fun to be around, which meshed well with our personalities, and made the lessons fly by. We really enjoyed learning from him and are considering taking some other classes from him just for "fun". We can't thank him enough for being such an integral part of making our wedding memorable. read more

Zumba classes are also offered at this dance studio. The instructor Mandy keeps the pace going, but also helps break down the steps as part of the dance, so you can pick them up relatively quickly. The pace of the class is not so intense, that I can't catch my breath. This is more of a workout class combined with dance class, which is what I was looking for. It is really fun with a variety of Latin traditional and modern music, where you totally forget you are working out. Perfect for me! read more
