It was the first time I had met a hypnotherapist, so I did not know what to expect. I told her about my ongoing struggles of my life and then she told me about the whole process of hypnotherapy. I told her that my main problems were anxiety and depression. So, she put me into a deep sleep to help me explore the roots of my problems. For the past year, I have been going to her and she helped me greatly. It is thanks to her that my mind and health has gotten much better than before. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs help. Jessica is very nice and she will always do her best to help you overcome obstacles.

From the moment we connected via email, I had a good feeling about her. She responded promptly, and she even communicated with me via text message, which I found very personable and accessible. Her office is easy to locate and is located on a serene property surrounded by trees and nature. I found it calming before I even walked inside. Inside is a beautifully decorated office space, I would call it quite simple and zen. She gave me a little tour on my first visit. One of the many things I enjoy about my sessions with Jessica is that she takes the time to ask me questions about how I have been doing over the last couple of weeks. She is a wonderful listener and is always concerned about how I am feeling and what is going on in my life. She always remembers what we spoke about and remembers my loved ones' names, which I find very thoughtful and nice. After we catch up on life, she asks me what my main concern(s) are currently. I tell her what they are and then she proceeds to guide me through a meditative hypnosis wherein we focus on the topic or person of my choice. From the first session, I felt a weight lifted off my chest. Three sessions after that, I feel more empowered, confident, and peaceful. Meditation is something I have been learning and practicing for a few years. At times during meditation, one can feel vulnerable and fearful. I feel protected and safe when Jessica guides me through a meditation/hypnosis, and that is extremely important for it to be effective. Hypnosis was something I have never done before, but always wanted to try. I have learned in my personal studies that much of our inner healing takes place when we are silent and still. I find that silence to be very healing - even though it's hard sometimes to be still and silent for longer than 5 minutes for someone as restless as me. She guides me through a meditation that I helped create (my happy place is a beautiful beach). She has also guided me through other various hypnotic states. I have learned how to better meditate and visualize whatever results I want. I have also learned how to focus more on gratitude and less on fear-based thought patterns and behaviors. It's hard to describe how helpful meditation and hypnosis are - but I believe they're the best kind of therapy that exist. Jessica is one of the most kind hearted and also professional people I have ever worked with. She has given me tools that I can take with me and use any time in my life. She has a VERY calming presence and voice, and she fluctuates her tone during the hypnosis, which I find to be very pleasant and relaxing. It's safe to say that I recommend Jessica Lin to anyone who is ready to heal whatever is preventing them from living the life of their dreams. Thank you Jessica.

The studio is located on the third…read morefloor of a converted house in historic Clarksburg, in the same building with a book store. The parking lot is small, but absolutely adequate for the businesses. In order to find the studio, you will walk in the back door, take two-half flights of stairs up, walk down a hallway and across the house to find the stairs to the third floor. Up one more flight of stairs and not only are you warmed up, but you've found the studio! All kidding aside, it's really not difficult to find, as there is plenty of signage. The studio itself has hardwood-looking laminate flooring and a big window on each wall. There are candles strategically placed around giving the studio a really cozy, relaxing vibe. They also provide mats, blocks, and straps, or you can bring your own. I purchased a 20-pack of classes and so far I've gone to two: Power Hour and Vinyasa Flow I/II. There isn't a ton of room upstairs, but in both classes, we were below max capacity. There were 4 of us in one class and 5 in the other. I really, really enjoy this about it. Both Ariana and Kathy were super friendly, chill, and willing to not just help you perfect your poses, but teach you the correct ways to push yourself and go deeper into postures. At the beginning of their respective classes, they both asked if anyone had injuries, so they could help with modifications, or if there were any special requests. It's almost like you're getting a private lesson. Holla! Clarksburg Yoga & Wellness uses MindBody (https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/classic/home?studioid=255113) for scheduling, which works well. I suggest registering and signing up for classes before you go. This saves your spot in class and keeps track of classes you have attended and want to attend. I'm going to Pilates tonight and am looking forward to it!

My favorite class was the Gentle Restorative Candlelight Yoga with Daniela Shore - she was one of the best yoga instructors I've ever had. Maureen is SUPER accommodating and helped me modify my membership because I was traveling out of town for the first week of it.

I started with only once a week and noticed a difference from just that! It turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. The classes and instructors are amazing. They were able to guide and help me manage my pain, stress and sleep schedule. It's truly been a transformation both mentally and physically. I never regret spending an hour in a class here because I always feel better after. If you are looking for the western ideas of "yoga" and running through a bunch of poses, this is not the place. The classes focus more on meditation and linking the mind and body.

The "trial" session was a bit odd but I chalked it up to being based in Eastern medicine and told myself to keep an open mind. Came back for one class- which did not contain any yoga at all, and instead a lot of jumping and poking of the bellybutton with a stick. Something didn't sit right with me, and this was enforced by getting a bizarre email the next day from the manager, Anita, saying that she received word from corporate she was to report immediately to a different branch in Colorado on Monday morning. (The email was sent on a Friday). What kind of organization gives their employees 72 hours to relocate?? Turns out- a cult. (But also, support local businesses and try and buy classes too if you're able!) I took two classes this week - one with Kathy and one with Brenda. Both instructors were so welcoming and kind. Both classes were challenging (but accessible!). I enjoyed both classes a lot - Kathy's sculpt yoga class had me hobbling the next day, and Brenda's class had me challenging myself to try poses I hadn't before. She also had a message at the beginning and end of class about making sure to focus on you're "want to be" list (strong, brave, kind, loving, etc) versus your "to do" list. I love this. In both classes, it seems as though there's great community - a lot of the women seemed to know each other and were excited to take classes together. I hope that if I were in the area, I could be a part of this uplifting environment. The studio itself is clean, has great AC, and has lots of windows to look at trees while you're trying not to fall over in your own tree pose. They also have blocks, straps and I think some mats available. I look forward to coming here if I'm ever in the area again.

She has a friendly, helpful assistant & had yoga mats to borrow, & very cute yoga clothing for sale. Overall, an excellent studio to practice yoga. As a chiropractor, I've found that light resistance weight training three times a week for just 20' & yoga for 2-3 days/week are the most important ways to keep healthy, fit, & have lasting energy. Cheers! DocMikeChiro Update: At Brenda's recommendation, I took today's morning yoga class with Dana. It was the most incredible & challenging, intermediate level yoga class I have ever taken. I asked if she had her class on video so that I can share it with my patients and friends who are yoga instructors. Brenda's Uplift Yoga studio is truly an excellent place to practice & improve strength, balance, & focus.

How they modify the exercises for ALL members is the best part. For me, they give me suggestions to make them more challenging. For others, they'll have them lower the weights and do lower impact exercises to accommodate injuries and level of experience. Every workout is different, which keeps things interesting. The program is motivating and I can honestly say I get in just as good of a workout in 45 minutes here as I would in 1.5 hours on my own in a weight room. It's fast paced, but doable for everyone. The space itself is organized and clean. The members I've met are all friendly and the coaches are encouraging. This isn't an in-your-face bootcamp style gym. No intimidation tactics here! I can't recommend Foundry Fitness enough to anyone who wants to change up their boring, old workout routine or needs an extra kick in the butt.
