I have long hair and am always worried about a new stylist cutting too much off - Lauran did a wonderful job of leaving my length while adding in face framing layers. She also provided very helpful suggestions! Additionally, the studio was very warm and welcoming. Prices were fantastic - $32 for a top notch haircut! I will definitely be back.

My first experience at Kristin's was thanks to a groupon purchased by my wonderful fiance (then,…read moreboyfriend) for a massage, facial, and manicure. The time came where the groupon had nearly expired -- given that I am a terrible procrastinator -- and Kristin worked VERY hard with me to find a time where I could come in. All of the services that I received were exceptional, and although I haven't had my hair done by Kristin yet, she is a kind and welcoming individual who always seems glad to see me. Since that first time, I have been in every couple of months for one person in particular: Amy, the aesthetician of my dreams. Amy is my guru, my hero, my Yoda. When I first came in, I had (with all of the best of intentions) completely destroyed my skin. I had been using various products I knew very little about in an attempt to treat my acne which had actually happened as a result of the astringent products I was using making my face extremely sensitive! To hide this from others I was piling foundation and concealer onto my face, which prevented any kind of healing. Amy knew instantly what was wrong and had all sorts of recommendations to make. Every day my skin looks better, and each time I go to Kristin's her smile shows me how drastic the change has been. In fact, with the exception of a tinted SPF I have been using, I have almost completely ceased to use make-up. I don't need it! My skin is incredible! Although everyone at Kristin's will make your day and make you feel fabulous, I cannot recommend Amy's services highly enough. My sister (also an aesthetician) had been telling me for months to find a professional and get real advice about my skin, and her advice led me to this person who made a HUGE difference in my self-image and confidence. Go to Kristin's! As soon and as often as possible!!! You will not regret this decision!

Located in the heart of Saratoga Springs, New York, the Roosevelt Baths have been a sanctuary for…read morehealing and rejuvenation for years. The Experience: As soon as I checked in, I was asked to choose an aromatherapy option for my bath. After changing, I waited in a calm relaxation room with tea and snacks until my name was called. The atmosphere was peaceful, setting the tone for the experience. The bath itself was deeply relaxing. One thing that surprised me was how deep the tub was--I wasn't expecting that. I remember wondering if the minerals would make the bath feel different, like maybe there would be some tingling, but it felt like a regular bath. The ambiance of the bathhouse was serene, with soothing music and dim lighting that really enhanced the relaxation. I've even shared my experience on YouTube, you can check out my full experience and get a feel for the vibes here: https://youtu.be/rZRi-EZA5zw It was interesting to learn that, back in the day, a bath here cost just $1.25, whereas now it's around $64. It's a bit expensive for a bath, so I'd say it's great for a one-time experience. However, I think the staff could do a better job of educating customers about the benefits of the mineral water--what it does and why it works--so we can actually understand the impact it has. It would be even better if they shared testimonials from long-term clients about how it's improved their lives. Pro Tips: 1. Enter the park through the Avenue of the Pines to avoid the $10 parking fee. 2. Check out the nearby creek--it's a gorgeous spot! Last time I visited, I set up a surprise picnic for our anniversary there. You can ask the staff at the front desk about it. For me, it's exciting to know the history behind Roosevelt Baths and to experience something that people in the past believed would heal their bodies and that once provided a natural luxury experience to everyday New Yorkers.

The single star is only for the mani/pedi I got. First, I called and asked if they had gel polish…read moreand they said yes. Once in the salon, I picked out my color and waited. I was the only client, but the for some reason the tech sat 10 feet away from me and made me wait for ~10m before she came over to start my service. While waiting, I could take in the overall grunginess of the salon. I did not expect this at the Roosevelt, which is old but has charm and is usually clean. The floor linoleum was old and in need of replacement, or at least a deep cleaning. The pedicure was slipshod. My feet soaked in the lukewarm whirlpool for about 10m, then she took my feet out for the "massage", This consisted if her rubbing some lotion only on the front of my lower legs. Very disappointing. The manicure was borng as she made no attempt to make any sort of pleasant chit-chat, even when I did. I found out halfway through that they did not use gel polish, and both my mani and pedi had peeled off in a week. The whole thing cost me $120. It would have cost me $80 - with gel and much better service - in my hometown of Cambridge, MA. It's a good thing I downgraded from the deluxe mani/pedi, which would've set me back $145.
