I have to admit I am so disappointed - I have been coming to young since it opened and was floored at how great it was the first few times I went, but it has gone down hill, fast. I feel that the idea for a great nail salon is there but they try to get too many people in and their work suffers for it. When I showed up at 10am in a Friday morning the place was packed, as soon as I walked in someone yelled across the room at me to see what I wanted I said "how long is the wait for a gel manicure" (all the while everyone at the salon is looking at you bc you have to yell back at whoever yelled to you in the first place) - "pick your color" was the response I said "I'm sorry, how long is the wait?" Someone yelled back "no wait we have special people here to work " - then I waited 25 minutes. The woman doing my nails ripped and cut at my cuticles - it was very painful and would pull my hand if I flinched - rushed the process and did a horrible job painting my nails. The polish doesn't go all the way down the sides on most of my nails and it looks like they've already had a week of growth bc she didn't go close to my cuticle. I hate to leave this review bc I love the fact that this place goes above and beyond (they even gave me a Christmas gift, of lotion and a coupon bc it's the holiday season) but their work is just not good. Every tech was obviously flustered bc of how busy it is. I probably will go back to give them one more try but I am so disappointed. read more

This used to be my favorite place to go get my mani/pedis, however it has been nothing but unpleasant lately. The guy who did my pedi was rude and rushed through it, I mean it took 20 mins total ?! I want to relax and feel like they're taking their time isn't that why you go? The next time I got a powder dip, and a different guy same situation, rude and sped through it. I was legit sweating because he kept filing my skin and I told him numerous times he was hurting me. They just care about making money and a quick turn over. It was never like this before. I gave 2 star because the staff was friendly. However,the next day my daughter had to go back to redo a nail as the gel nail came off. They did no problem 4 days later while swimming all her gel nails came off. I guess good news was I didn't have to pay to remove them. They were rude. came with 3 people and didn't start the one girl until 25 minutes after the rest of us while there were workers just sitting around. The blue light to dry your nails BURNED!!!!!!! My mom and I went for a pedicure, we went at prime time so I knew we were going to have to wait. The lady that greeted us said it was going to be 10-30 minutes, by the time they started the pedicure it had been an hour. Super nice ladies who did our pedicures, and was the most sanitary nail salon I've been too in Hamburg. Well if i could give 0 stars. I would. Im an african american and I went here on a sunday and they did not welcome me. Every other white person got a good welcome and felt welcomed. Me on the other hand they just stared as if I wasnt in the right nail shop. So in my head i said i hope they know they NOT getting a tip. So at the end of my service this bald eagle looking woman told me it was $65 so i paid and she asked was i giving a tip i said no. she said "you dont like your nails" i said yup.. she said so no tip. i said NO. i almost told her something else but I keep it professional. I went in for a pedicure and was pretty disappointed. I frequented this nail salon before the pandemic and decided to go back again. I had a feeling the service would change. When they first opened in Hamburg it was the best place around! The salon was lovely, clean, and relaxing. It's not like how it use to be! When I went in for my pedicure I selected the Green Tea which was $45. The girl who manages/owns the nail salon came over to the manicurist and myself and tried to up sell to the $55 pedicure. She was telling me it will only be around for another week. Total turn off. After I decided to go with my original choice, the pedicure was rushed. My husband was shocked when I returned home. Also, when I was there, I saw no sanitizing what so ever. Chairs are not cleaned after others just sat in them. No hand sanitizer seen anywhere. Quality of polish is not there. Mang visits to the new location in Tonawanda and I can't believe I keep going there. The past two pedicures I got caused INJURY to my foot. Today I tried to get my daughters nails done, she tried to tell the technician he was using gel top coat over regular polish, and he ignored her. Took her money and sent her home with nails that NEVER dried. Just because she's a kid doesn't mean she's not a paying customer. Worst experience ever in a nail salon! I made an appointment for my mother on her birthday with five of my nieces. We got there and were barely acknowledged and then made to wait 1/2 hr. Completely ignored. Proceeded to get worst pedicure from cigarette drenched guy who accused me of kicking water in his face because I asked him if he could slow down. So rushed! He walked out and told his manager that he was mad at me and she came and gave me hell! At which point I said I was done. She informed me that I would not be charged for my horrendous experience! At this point I paid for my mom and two of my nieces and added a generous tip so that their service wouldn't be as bad as mine and I didn't even get a thank you from the owner! They cram too many people in to make it an enjoyable experience and just try to rush you through as soon as possible! Customer service sucks at this place! My niece made an appointment for 9 people for before her wedding. She called 3 weeks before to ensure they could accommodate us on a Friday afternoon. They had said no problem. We walked in and the place was packed and they had no idea we had an appointment. They either never wrote it down or lied to us in order to not turn away customers. The manager who would not admit he was said he could still take us. We were all rushed. He started to do my nails and rudely got up 4 times to handle other issues then disappeared for 10 minutes never said anything to me then another technician took over. She tried to be extra nice to me but my nails are awful after 2 days Of not doing any type of housework 4 are chipped. I had to repaint one before the wedding. Gel nails never chip on me... several others in wedding party have similar issues. I would not recommend this place. They somehow got us all completed in 1 1/2 hours.. by RUSHING every single one of us. Manager is rude and did not even apologize. Just wanted our money .... read more

Couldn't be more disappointed with my experience. We had a 9am appointment and when we showed up they were disorganized. It was like they had no idea we had appointments at all. My technician was nice enough but I left with dry, rough feet. I paid extra for the callus remover but really see no difference at all. Bummer I spent money at this salon. read more

If you're here for a mani or pedi, you'll love the treatment leading up to the actual nail painting. You get these lovely massages. I got the lavender treatment and seriously my legs have never felt smoother. They do great exfoliation too. The downfall and the weird bit to me is they set these awkward timers to show you they're going to give you these really rough and awkward massages for 30 seconds and not a second over. After each treatment, someone appears behind me and aggressively gave me an unwanted massage on my shoulders. The massage during the pedicure is to be expected as it's part of the package but I couldn't help but feel slightly violated every other time they did it. And the obnoxious timer that they put in front of you when they do it is just weird. I also experienced an extremely BAD mani and pedi as my nail technician insisted on continuing to CUT my cuticles before my skin had even been soaked or hydrated by at least some lotion or moisturizer. I left with bleeding toes (and she only stopped because I said to, she would have continued around the broken skin) and fingers. What nail technician does not soak or even soften the skin before cutting the cuticles?! That was pretty much her main focus. This mani pedi took 2.5 hours which is absolutely insane to begin with but I also left with a lot of broken skin. And most of that time was spent trying to cut my cuticles which weren't even bad to begin with. read more

I don't normally go to Young Nails, but I figured I'd give it a shot since I had a coupon. Even giving one star is being generous. The gentleman that did my nails was very rude to me and had horrible etiquette. He kept passing the gas the entire time. Also, they had the impeachment trial on one of the televisions and I was watching it when suddenly they turned the tv off all the together. I told the gentleman that I was still watching it and so were other people and I asked him kindly if he could turn it back on. He completely ignored me and just walked away. Now onto my nails. I've been getting acrylic nails for a few years now and I've never had an experience like this. They didnt paint the top or sides of nails, which I specifically asked them to do. They also put on way to much glue and it was such a poor job that not even two weeks layer, my nails are all falling off. My nails have always lasted me 4 weeks, most of the time even more. Don't bother making an appointment. They don't mean anything to them. They will give you whatever time you want but you will wait when you get there. This has happened repeatedly but the last time was the worst. I was rudely told that they have a 15 minute grace period to meet your appointment. But my wait well exceeded 15 minutes for a below average pedicure. At least it is clean. read more

I tried this place today because I heard good things about this salon. They did not disappoint. The place was very clean. Although it doesn't have the atmosphere/ambiance like Cortos/Seasons day spa, (more like a sterile environment) they played relaxing music and the large screen TV's were for viewing and not hearing. I had the lavender Spa Pedicure. The Asian gentlemen did a fantastic job removing dead skin from my feet. My feet and legs were lavished with Lavender oils and lotions, warm towels, stone massage and leg massage as well. I had a basic manicure that was inexpensive. Yet it included hand scrub, cuticle cleanup, oils, warm wax on hands, hand massage and even a shoulder and neck massage! And yes they use new kits for hands and feet- in other words, they do not reuse tools on the next person! the only thing I do not like in these Asian places is that they speak their foreign language to each other, yet they do know some English. It just makes me feel like they talk about you in front of you but that's my deal. I tend to feel that is rude, However, at this place I didn't feel that way. I will definitely go back. Every year for my birthday I treat myself to some sort of fancy pedicure. This year I chose SZ Young simply because they are brand new and I wanted to give it a try. I walked into heaven. No acetone smell because a lot of the products are natural and do not contain the harsh smelly chemicals. They even have vegan nail polish. I chose the lavender spa pedicure. ($55 normal price) During the almost hour long pamper, they used scrubs and lotions and lavender oils to massage both my legs and feet. Callous removal is part of this package and totally worth the tickle it created. They even wrapped my legs in cream, hot towels and ceran wrap for a glossy smooth refreshed result. After the towels came off they did a hot stone massage on my legs and feet. The chairs were so comfy with several different massage settings. The music in the spa was very relaxing in a meditation kind of way. There were several times I caught myself drifting off in relaxation. While drying my neatly painted tootsies in the dryer seats I was also given a brief shoulder massage with hot towel. There are plenty of stations for toes and nails and could easily accommodate a group for weddings or birthdays or other pamper day off. They currently do not have any magazines so take something to read if you wish or chat with the neighbors. Everyone was very friendly. Other services include less fancy pedicure, manicure, gel nails, and waxing. I left feeling relaxed, revived, fresh and ready for flip flops. Happy birthday to me! read more

Definitely impressed by this nail salon. I've been to every place in the Village and this is by far the absolute cleanest and far as how the salon is kept. Their sterilization techniques are far superior to any nail place I've ever been to. I usually get the green tea pedicure and a spa manicure. They offer a lot of extras such as paraffin wax, back and neck massages and hot stone massages for the legs and feet. I've never had that anywhere else. They can get busy and sometimes you see multiple people during your visit but everyone is always friendly and does a great job. read more

Yes the place is clean well ventilated, there paraffin is used over and over. ( watch when they take it off they save it in a drawer behind them ). They also have a new person every week. I had one of there techs cut me and said hey your bleeding what happened and laughed it off. I did in the beginning think they we wonderful but if you pay attention you see many things not right. Service was unacceptable. I went to enjoy a pedicure and received horrible service. I was told to pick a polish, rushed to pick my polish then sat in my chair. Then after the man doing my pedicure finishes he noticed specs on my toes ( precious gel polish left) looks at me and says that it was bad polish and I needed opi? Which no one told me. He proceeds with the same polish to fix two of my toes. When it doesn't come out right he realized and takes off the entire gel he did on every toe, then hands me the polish and expects me to know what he wants me to do without saying anything? This place is horrible. They put on a show and make you feel as if they have done amazing work to your nails. The first day my nails looked amazing and it seemed as if they took their time. A few days later my french tip gel polish over my acrylic started to change color (black and brown). When I went in to get them fixed one of my acrylic nails had started to lift on the side, instead of fixing it with acrylic they filled it in with gel polish. SERIOUSLY. For something that cost me 70$. I will NEVER go back again. They are over priced and have shitty service. Go to Julie's across the street, way better service and way better nails read more

I've had 6 gel manicures here since they opened. I'm the beginning they were great, took their time and were very attentive. I've noticed during the past three manicures that the service has declined. You no longer get personalized attention, it's whoever is available at the moment steps in and does some phase of your manicure. One person might remove your polish, another one prepare your nails, a different one massage your back. The number of gel polish coats has been reduced and the whole process seems very rushed. Went there on a Friday morning for a manicure and pedicure. Arrived at 10am and they were full, no big deal, its the weekend so I expected it. Waited about 20 minutes and then was seated at the pedicure chair. Yes they do try to upsell whatever you choose but I've never been to a nail salon that doesn't. Pedicure was average, I have had better. It was rushed which I am guessing is because they were so busy. They all set timers for the different steps but he never completed any of the steps to the end of the timer. The manicure is where things got rocky. Kevin was the nail tech and he was pretty rude. There was no cuticle soak or lotion used before trimming them which was kind of painful. Also, since it was my first time there, I was unaware that the lights for the gel polish were built in to the table. When he finished the first coat he pointed at my hand and said "in the light." I am used to there being a separate light on top of the table to put your hand in. I was confused and he repeated himself 2-3x before finally yelling at me. Then after he finished the next coat, I must not have placed my hand close enough to him to reach so he grabbed my wrist and yanked it towards him. He did this once more later. The woman next to me even noticed and asked if I was ok. Underneath my nails was not cleaned and the extra polish was not filed off the tips at the end. It is unlikely I will return but if I did I would maybe go at a less busy time and certainly request a different tech. read more

My best friend and I just walked in for manicures and were greeted warmly and taken care of right away. Both of our manicurists did an amazing job. They were very attentive to detail and kept a tidy work station. Everything was sterilized and clean and the overall feel of the nail salon was very relaxing to boot!
