I had an eerily similar experience to others who reviewed Bill Young, the owner of the service. He was personally extremely rude, argumentative, and unprofessional. He spent the entire trip yelling at me about his personal problems and trying to argue with me. It was completely inappropriate. The 921 route listed on google maps is several years out of date, and the schedule on his website is very unreliable. He cancels service on a whim. I would spend the extra money to travel in an Uber or Lyft for the sole reason that I found Bill Young to be so personally distasteful to ride with, but I also cannot trust that he will be at a bus stop when he says he will. 6:30pm shuttle never showed up this evening. Waited by myself as it got dark for an hour. Was told by station managers that sometimes the "guy" picks up in a car. This is a shim sham business. Site looks professional with schedule but no one was answering the phone when I called multiple times and no updates about cancelations on their social media. For a woman traveling alone this service isn't safe. Especially if there's times a random man is going to pull up in a car claiming to be a shuttle service. I didn't know what to do but station worker said it's not a good idea for me to be waiting out there after dark so I just hopped in an uber. $30 one way. During the summer OurBus has regular service from union station to Annapolis. I'll be using them next year. Stay away from this fake establishment read more

Have to agree with the other reviews, PLEASE PLEASE do yourself a favor and don't risk depending on this service as transportation. In APRIL, I needed to get to Annapolis from New Carrollton, bought my ticket the day before and the shuttle NEVER showed up. I called 10 times to see what was going on, no answer. Finally a few days later, I called to get a refund, was told that the shuttle was cancelled that day (no notice) and I should email for a refund. Of course I did, and got NO RESPONSE AGAIN. I've used the New Carrollton to Annapolis shuttle twice and been very satisfied. You're not going to find a cheaper way to make this trip. I recommend calling in advance to let them know when you'll be boarding, and paying cash is much easier all around. read more

**Please read full review: Youngs Transportation is a much needed service, and Bill Young is a very kind and professional man. The problem that Youngs suffers from is that there is low ridership on certain days so he drives a "shuttle" (SUV) instead of a bus. While I understand that some people may be taken aback by this, I had a perfectly good experience. If you want to use this service I recommend it, just follow the steps that I followed (below): I had read the reviews ahead of time so I called ahead to make sure the 2:41pm Saturday shuttle to New Carrollton was running (if I hadn't called, it may not have happened because of low to no ridership.) I asked what vehicle to expect so that I knew in advance, and he told me that because of low ridership he cannot afford to run the bus for (in this case) 1 person. I asked if Sunday was running back to Annapolis from New Carrollton and he said they are discontinuing Sunday services, so I knew in advance. Bill was very friendly and talkative and a very safe driver and I got to my train in record time. If you need to get between New Carrollton and Annapolis this is the best option at a very affordable rate, at a third of the price of Uber or other private cab options. It's mind boggling to me how few options Annapolis has for getting to DC without a car. I am thankful for Bill Young and his Transportation services. TLDR; Just call in advance whether the shuttle is running and to ask what vehicle to expect so you aren't taken by surprise and you will have a great trip and support a local businessman! read more

LTDR: Their advertised schedule does not match reality - according to the owner they routinely don't operate trips whenever they see fit without any notice posted. I ended up stranded in a parking lot when they decided not to operate the last trip of the day and the owner verbally berated me on the phone and told me to take a cab. Be extremely wary of every depending on this service. My recommendation is to find a different way to get to Annapolis if it all possible. This company has a clean website with a printed schedule that makes them seem like they run reliable service between New Carrollton and Annapolis, MD. They even give their bus a number - the "921" - making it seem like a regular, scheduled bus. As a result, I visited their site, checked their schedule, and purchased an online one-way ticket from Annapolis to New Carrollton. I arrived 20 minutes early for the last bus of the day. After waiting until 10 minutes past the departure time, I called the number on Young's website to see if it was running late. An individual identifying himself as Mr. Young picked up, told me, "There are no more trips tonight!" When I protested that their website clearly indicated there was a trip, he cut me off and said, "SIR! You are not listening to me! I told you there are no more trips tonight!" I explained that I was standing in the middle of a parking lot, waiting for a clearly advertised and scheduled trip and this was unacceptable. Furthermore, their Facebook page, where they routinely post trip delay or cancelation information didn't indicate any schedule change, nor did their Twitter. I asked Mr. Young what my alternatives were - he told me that was not his problem and I should think about taking a cab but that the company would not reimburse my costs. He then went on a lengthy tirade in which he claimed I was the first customer in seven years to try to take that trip from that stop. When I asked why it was listed in the schedule, because I'd never have come out to Annapolis if I didn't think I'd have a way home, he told me that he was hoping to restart it in the future. He further stated that if he removed all the trips he didn't operate the schedule would appear too thin to attract business. It's one thing to cancel a trip for operational reasons, but to cancel the final trip with no notice and to just leave someone stranded in a parking lot with no recourse is extremely unacceptable. If Young was willing to make me whole (I'm asking for the additional $20 I spent in addition to the bus ticket that was refunded), I'd chalk it up to a (big) miscommunication - although they need to adjust their website to match reality. But I've never experienced such a poor and insulting response when a bus company like this drops the ball. They're advertising that they operate as a professional scheduled carrier but it appears they're operating as a small semi-scheduled shuttle operating at the whim of the owner. ***UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, UNRELIABLE*** Bill Young, owner and driver of this "service" (and I use this word lightly in reference to his company) should do everyone a favour and just quit (as he liked to threaten during my face-to-face conversation with him). Unfortunately, he has a monopoly on this route (New Carrollton to/from Annapolis) so he can treat his customers as badly as he wants. My friend (who works at the Naval Academy) booked this service for me since I'm visiting from California and didn't rent a car (my sightseeing was the usual touristy areas in downtown DC). She didn't know anything about this company (other than doing a search online) and assumed (like most people) that this is a reliable service. According to their online schedule, they offer 4 morning trips to Annapolis: 6:30am, 7:10am, 8:45am, 10:20am. I arrived at New Carrollton at 10:00am (after taking Lyft from downtown DC since I didn't want to miss the shuttle), found the correct area to wait for the bus. At 10:20am, I approached the bus driver (who was in the bus, chatting with a Metro worker for the last 20 mins) and asked when he would be leaving. "Ma'am, ma'am. Just hold on. I still have a few minutes. I will get you when I'm ready." 10:30am comes... he makes a big show of examining the front of the shuttle, waves me over and says "Ma'am, you see this tire here? It's supposed to be round but something's wrong with it, needs a new tire. The shuttle already felt loose when I was driving it this morning. It'll take 45 mins to get it fixed." He then says that he called his other driver but he wasn't picking up. And he adds that he's thinking of canceling the service altogether since he's not getting enough riders. Anyway, he insisted that he get it fixed *now* (even though he was sitting around for the last 30 mins) because it's a safety issue. Of course, the moment he said "safety", I complied and said fine, I'll wait. After an hour wait, he comes back and I'm finally on my way to Annapolis. On the return trip that day, I nearly ran from the Naval Academy to the West St. & Calvert St. stop (in front of the post office) to catch the 4:11pm shuttle. I call him as I was speed-walking to make sure that I don't get left behind and he says "MA'AM! I scheduled my trips to give everyone enough time to get the stop. Stop calling me." So basically he adds 15+ mins to whatever he posted online. He finally arrived at 4:35pm. I spoke to another rider waiting for the shuttle (a tourist from Germany) and he said that he had to wait TWO HOURS the previous day to catch the shuttle from New Carrollton to Annapolis. During the drive to New Carrollton, the driver Bill Young proceeded to look scroll through his phone for songs he can blast in the shuttle. He then does air guitar, air drums, and essentially rocks out to songs that he forces us to listen to. Safe driving? Definitely not. When I asked the lady across the aisle if he does this all the time, she rolls her eyes and says "Yes!! And he's never on time. But I don't have a choice since I don't have a car". I'm planning to report him to the Maryland Transit Administration, Annapolis Transportation Department and the BBB. Anyone else who has had terrible service from this guy, please report him too. If enough voices are heard, maybe the MTA will do something about providing reliable transportation for commuters & visitors. Horrible service. They cheat you. No notification that the bus was going to be canceled and did not provide a refund either. They will pretend that they don't know how payment app Paypal works. This is a wonderful transportation service which runs a route from Annapolis to the New Carrollton train station.

One attempt at travel, zero success. From their website I received their schedule and map of stops. After no bus arrived I called to make sure I was in the right spot. The male that answered stated that due to bus issues it would be at least two hours before a ride was possible. I said that as a customer, it would be nice if they posted service interruptions on their website. He started yelling at me, saying that he doesn't owe me anything. Fortunately I didn't purchase a ticket in advance. I simply repeated that as a customer it would be nice to know about service interruptions, and that a notice on their website would be an easy way to do that. He hung up on me. YTS got plenty of promising reviews in the past, plus an acquaintance of mine had a good experience with it once, so I took the leap and decided to rely on it for a trip to Annapolis for a friend's party. The van never showed at New Carrolton station, and the man operating it didnt pick up when I called multiple times, both in advance and once the van didnt show up. Update: I did not ask oblivious questions. I looked at the schedule and the bus had not arrived after 30 minutes it was scheduled to. I called and asked and was spoken to as if I was stupid. This shuttle is not reliable at all and sounds very much like a scam. I would not be surprised if "John" was Young himself. read more

I attempted to use this service and was thoroughly disappointed when, after 20 minutes in below freezing temperatures, the bus hadn't shown up. Instead, I had to take a taxi in order to get to my destination on time, resulting in a $50.00 trip. The bus service is awful, as the company doesn't respond to emails or calls, instead, their inbox is full. Furthermore, the websites information is confusing and doesn't include clear instructions on how their systems works. Please don't take the bus service. read more

I found this service on Google Map and on May 23 went to Annapolis and back without problem. Bill used a SUV to pick us up at New Carrollton metro station in the morning as there were no other passengers; he drove us back in the afternoon in a minivan with a few others. We paid 10 dollars per person each way, which was a bit different from advertised price on Google Map. Other than that, all went as expected. read more

I've used Bill Young's shuttle several times this summer, to Annapolis from New Carrolton and back. He is very professional about sticking to the schedule and accomodating reasonable requests where passengers can disembark. Riders are free to snack or drink beverages of thekr own on the trip, and Bill offers bottled water too. His shuttle is the best value for those without a car who want to get to Annapolis, and despite the pressures this results in his own business, Bill still keeps to his schedule, has this bargain price, and is a skilled driver. He doesn't suffer fools gladly, and is right to do so because I have witnessed callers and riders, (for ex. like Ashley who posted here) ask questions about schedules that seem oblivious or thar they are not paying attention to what Bill is trlling them. I have seen this happen repeatedly to Bill when he is in the middle of driving, and how some waste his time and are not cognizant that they are doing so. Bill is really doing a service doing this at this price and those like Sharon or Ashley who wrote here act like snowflakes in their unrealistic and unfair comments. read more
