It's very fashionable to hate gluten right now and hater be hatin'. I sometimes give up beer, so taking the next step to gluten should be an interesting prospect. Having Somebody Upstairs keeping an eye on me, it makes it easy not to deviate. As a newly minted glutard, I had to find substitutes and how. Luckily for me Uncle Sams's is just up the road. The have a full line of gluten free products and it's actually not that hard to make when you have them on your side. I really don't like the term gluten free. I don't want to avoid something by having to say it all the time. It's like begging for the things you hate. You don't see real estate agents calling communities "crack whore free". They say "lovely neighborhood" Anyway, a pleasant byproduct of being dietary choice empowered is that I just cant get processed shit from fast food places. I used to stop at DD to get a egg sandwich sometimes, or a wrap from Buckaroos, but I just cant do that any more. I also cant have sandwiches, so I'm eating a lot more salads. It's been a week and I really don't feel any different, but I don't really care, I'm having fun.

I also because of a few (not at fault) auto accidents I have severe pain in my entire part of my body and every limb. I've had 5 surgeries not including the manual flipping back over of my liver where it was stuck for 8 months and I couldn't even stand up straight. I can't hold my arms at my side and press and release with out falling over nearly passing out from debilitating pain. I haven't done my hair in 9 years I have a disabled sticker hanger over my mirror the farthest one away incase someone comes who is more disabled than I am.. my hips will only last another 10 years. So when people call for help in customer service, there is a reason why. I am appalled at the horrible customer service this chain on Wolf Rd in Albany NY. I have been a customer for years and they are always quick to get people in and out so they can get back to chatting and they always do the security check when u get there ''can I help u find anything I was in customer service worked for an international corporation a municipality prior to that. I even started out in retail at the mall.. but these ladies kind of gave me an attitude when I asked if someone could help me. I asked (in lieu of respect to a law suit they would have had if I got it myself because I have poor equilibrium and a tendency to fall.) The woman said to me oh there is a step over here (it was heavy and I wouldn't be able to move it). She's like well I'm not sure if I can get on it either. Shouldn't that be a part of the job description?so long story short I let the rude behavior slide down my back. But IMAGINE THIS. You come home your home and realize your engagement ring gone!I called after I was just there AN HOUR before they can't remember me after an hour and I was wearing a very distinct outfit with a posh hat and a sephora black and white bubble mask (I am a regular customer) and was wondering if maybe their brains could concentrate on anything than talking to one an other, as that is all they do when you are there.. feeling like the third wheel in their convo. I was just looking for help in tracing some steps to find my engagement ring and the lady treated me like I was a piece of dirt and after she treated me like that.. Another more authoritive woman got on the phone and told me there is no cameras on the registers so they wouldn't be able to tell If I was wearing my ring or not and might as well as said to me ''your a piece of dirt''. A friend who misses The Bread Butler, maybe even more than I, told me that there was an excellent…read moresourdough bread being baked by Anicca Bakery in Troy and sold at the Honest Weight Co-op. I was at the Co-op the next day. A variety of their breads are located in a shelf display across the aisle from all the other breads. I saw sandwich rolls, French baguettes, plain sourdough, three seeds sourdough, whole wheat sourdough, plain challah, everything topped challah, and a couple of variations that I don't recall. Some of the loaves are also available in half-loaf sizes. I purchased a loaf of 3 Seed Sourdough ($8.69) and a loaf of Everything topped Challah ($7.29). Both are excellent in their own right. The 3 seeds on the sourdough are organic dry roasted pumpkin, organic dry roasted sunflower, and organic golden flax seeds. Anicca makes a point of stating that they make every attempt to obtain all their ingredients within 200 miles of the Troy bakery. The sourdough has a nice chewy crust and a decent sour flavor. The challah has a softer crust than the sourdough, just a bit of sweetness and a slightly lighter colored crumb. The challah is also double bagged for some reason. The loaf is placed in a plastic bag before it is placed in the outer paper bag. Maybe that was to protect the everything topping? If you visit their web page https://aniccabakery.com/ you will learn that you can order online and pickup your order at Alias Coffee Shop in Troy. You may also notice that their web page does not mention all the varieties of bread that I saw at the Co-op and shows a more limited production schedule. Maybe their web page is just not up to date. Another issue I ran into was knowing whether the bread was fresh. Glancing at the information on the label of my two choices, I saw that the sourdough was labeled as "Date Baked on10/29/25" (GREAT! That was today), while the challah was labeled as "Date Baked 10/30/25." WAIT!!! How can that be? 10/30/25 is not until TOMORROW!!! I checked several other packages and found that all the packages of challah were labeled with tomorrow's date. As an aside, does that mean I wouldn't be able to eat the challah until tomorrow? LOL Or better yet, if I eat it today does that mean the carbs don't exist yet? Still, LOL. In any event, a Co-op employee noticed my confusion and insisted on informing management while wondering if this meant the sourdough could have actually been sitting on the shelf since 10/28/25. Today or not, but probably tomorrow also, both breads were excellent. I'm looking forward to trying a whole wheat sourdough.

The store was organized, carried a large variety of items, and amazing bulk section. Every associate I interacted with was also friendly and helpful. When I asked one where to find a specific cheese, she stopped what she was doing and walked me over to the case. If I lived nearby, I'd shop here all the time. Until then, I'll continue to stop in as I come back to visit the area.

The staff were helpful and relatively knowledgeable about stock, but this is yet another franchise desperate to get you on their mailing list via discount cards and coupons, and I continue to resent having to go through the routine of declining this on every visit. My general advice when visiting such a place, to avoid being up-sold or purchasing something you're not really clear about, is to research what you want BEFORE going in so you're making your selection based on your own needs and what science you can bring to muster on the topic, and not the bag of retail store tricks (to which we are all vulnerable no matter how well-informed).

The pharmacist read through everything on the bottle, with other customers around, and opened the ointment container. I didn't ask for any of that and couldn't wait to get back in my car. If you're going over medication with a customer, consider their privacy and hear them when they say they don't have any questions or concerns. The whole interaction was uncomfortable, when I could have just been handed the prescription and walked out.
