Teddy was absolutely amazing to work with. He was organized, professional, polite, detailed, and wanted to make sure our wedding was flawless. For our first dance we wanted the song we chose condensed to a minute and a half but wanted the beginning and end of the song. We reached out to him and he mixed it together for us that same day. We didn't want to pick all of the music and asked him to fill in the gaps and he was able to match our music style. If you are looking for a wedding DJ, Teddy is the absolute best! We had a very unique wedding, which means we needed to find vendors that were up for a challenge and ready for an adventure. Teddy went above and beyond to meet our needs. He met with us several times via Zoom and phone calls and answered the countless emails we sent while planning a wedding from afar. He even reached out to our wedding coordinator to walk through the venue and ensure he had everything needed to make our wedding day a success. We had a wedding on land and a reception on a catamaran at sea. Teddy put together a small set-up that could quickly transition between venues, and created an enclosure to protect his equipment from sea spray during our sunset sail/dance party on the water. He listened to our wants/style, made custom cuts of special songs, and communicated clearly to all of our guests so they would know what to do and where to be throughout the day. We are so grateful for everything he did and would recommend him 100 times over for future events. read more

Like others said he is basically a planner, DJ, and friend in one package. Don't expect him to just show up with your list of songs to play on your wedding day - Teddy thinks of everything you didn't and leaves you feeling accomplished before your wedding. I am writing this review in hopes to help prevent my experience from happening to anyone else. Please note that my initial feelings about using Mix Maui were all positive. The owner was responsive and excited to work with us as our DJ on our wedding day. My only reservation was that he was a bit pushy when it came to reserving our date by telling us we needed to put a $400 deposit down to reserve our date by a certain date (more than 9 months before our wedding date) This was because he had another couple that was interested in our date. If we couldn't do the deposit to reserve our date he would need to give the date to the other couple. I caved and put the $400 deposit down as I wanted to make sure we were covered. After the deposit was paid I did not hear a word from Teddy or anyone else at his company. Fast forward a few months and unfortunately we were all placed in a tough situation. The venue our wedding was planned at cancelled all events due to it being purchased by new onwers and a huge remodeling project. I was forced along with 20 other couples (also using the same wedding planning company) to find a new venue quickly. As I made phone call after phone call several venues were already booked for my date. Luckily after speaking to half a dozen venues I was able to find one that was available for a date close to our planned event and within our price range. However, the venue we were able to find has a hard rule of only working with 3 pre-screened DJ services on the island. I spoke with the venue and explained that we had already paid Mix Maui a deposit for our event and asked for an exception to be able to use them for our event. The venue explained that thier policy is to only use one of the three pre-screened companies as they have worked with them for several years. No exceptions to the policy. I was stuck between a rock and a hard spot trying to get my event (which is supposed to be the happiest day of my life) re-scheduled before everything was booked up. Save the Date cards, airline reservations, lodging and other items had already been schedled so changing the date for more than a couple of days from the original date was not an option. I truly went to bat for Mix Maui with our new venue to see if they would allow an exception in this case. However, that was not an option. As soon as I was notified that our event had been cancelled I went to Teddy in early December 2021 to share the news. Our event was not until July 2022 so I expected to get the same response from him as I had from the venue and our wedding planner...."whatever you need from us we are here to help and if you find another option that fits your needs we are happy to refund any payments made to us". All of the other providers we had placed deposits with returned our deposits without question or concern. While Teddy was apologetic about the situation he was reluctant to offer to return any monies paid to him for our event. As things unfolded over the next month into Jan 2022 Teddy refused to return any portion of our $400 deposit and was down right disrespectful to me in his emails. When I was stressed about re-arranging our plans due to a cancelled event by the venue it would have been nice to have Teddy been supportive in understanding that my hand was forced with using someone else. Unfortunately that was not the case. Instead I was beraided with disrepectful emails and threatened to be sued by his attorney. While I don't doubt that Teddy would have done a decent job at our event had it played out the way we planned. I am disappointed in the way I was treated and the way the situation was handeled when I was forced to make a change to my wedding day. With the ever changing COVID enviroment I would be cautious to hire Tedd at Mix Maui as in my experience he is not understanding and willing to put the customer first when the unexpected occurs. read more

He refuses to give a refund after we cancelled, which was completely out of our control, stating that he put in several hours of work. We haven't seen a playlist or evidence of said work. if i could give teddy 11 stars, i would. if you are looking for a dj for your wedding in maui, teddy is the man to have! he is so much more than just a dj. we had a small wedding, and therefore did not hire a wedding planner. teddy dedicated so much time helping us plan out timing of our wedding and our playlist for the wedding. beyond the music, teddy also allowed us to ship packages to his house and he held onto them until the wedding. teddy is just a wonderful soul and truly takes the time and effort to genuinely get to know the couples. we are so incredibly grateful for him! read more

Teddy is so organized and kept me on track the months before the wedding so that I didn't feel rushed or stressed. When we started the planning process with him, our wedding planner had left the venue and we were without a planner for over a month. To my surprise, Teddy stepped up and was a pseudo wedding planner for a while which made me feel immensely better. Thanks to him we had a detailed timeline which the photographer had been asking for; he educated us about how the day would play out and where we'd be walking to/from/around (he was very familiar with the venue). He even gave us tips on how to save money here and there, and when we asked him for his opinion about anything (music choice? dance floor or not? type of lighting? mics or not?) he didn't give the boring "It's your wedding, whatever you want" but actually gave insightful answers that came from a logistical background but still took into account my tastes and style. I was worried that with a small 10-person wedding that his light-up DJ booth and floodlight setup would feel "too much" for such a small wedding. He understood my concern, suggested a few things like using a warm white light instead of colors, and gently assured me that the overall setup would not feel too overwhelming, and he was 100% right. He was a lifesaver, working with our new planner to get her up to speed and with other vendors to ensure everyone was on the same page. He was very transparent in communication and extremely detailed. Aside from his planning skills, he also perfectly DJ'd the wedding, from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner to dancing. He had a very good system of "must play" and "should play" songs and even pulled in some good throwback songs that we had forgotten about but that we were so glad he played! He had a good feel for the energy in the room and was able to keep the dancing going or get people to come to the dance floor. His voice was also very smooth through the speakers, fantastic! Teddy is directly responsible for keeping my stress level low and for making the day-of so fun. I will forever owe him for that :) read more

We cannot imagine a better DJ than Teddy of Your Mix Entertainment! Teddy was the DJ for our wedding ceremony and reception, and went above and beyond for us every step of the way. Throughout the planning process, Teddy was organized and kept track of every moment of the wedding, from the first beat of the processional down to the last song of the night. There were times in planning that I had to look at his notes because they were more detailed than my own! He made sure to get a complete picture of how we envisioned our wedding celebration, as well as who our guests were and what they would enjoy. There was constant communication throughout the process so everyone stayed on the same page. What's more impressive is how perfectly all our plans came to life exactly as we had discussed on the wedding day! The audio for our outdoor ceremony was fantastic. The music and speaking could be heard clearly with minimally intrusive equipment. Inside for the reception, Teddy's set up helped bring the space to life with lighting. He was even able to custom match our wedding color to the uplighting! He offered a great selection of music through cocktail hour and dinner. Our families love to dance and have fun, and Teddy kept the dance floor full all night, balancing the desires of our guests with what we had said we wanted to hear. His preparation for every possible circumstance really showed through when our venue had an electrical issue - Teddy had backup equipment ready to go and had the music back up and running in minutes. We also used the photobooth services. Our guests had a blast, and we loved the book we received at the end of the night with a copy of each strip and notes from our guests! We also received digital copies of the images. Teddy uses an assistant to run the photobooth, as well as help with transitions between ceremony and reception, and the assistant (Dakota) was very helpful throughout the night. Teddy truly provides a comprehensive service and we wouldn't have changed a single thing about our experience! read more

We found Ted at a wedding show for our Wisconsin wedding. Impressed with his thoughtfulness, down to what would be shown in pictures, we decided to inquire more. The price was a great deal for the service provided. Ted met with us to get a sense of our style. He was prepared with questionnaires that helped defined the style of music we wanted at our wedding. He gave suggestions and also took our requests, made them better and incorporated our wishes into our day. He mixed an important voice message into a song, came up with create ways to still do wedding traditions without taking a lot of time, helped to execute a change of the first dance song order and surprised my husband for his birthday. Ted made everything so easy. We met a few times and those were crucial in discussing our expectations and we were pleased with the results. Ted not only was our DJ keeping the dance floor fun and full the entire night but had a hand in making everything run smoothly. He was in contact with all vendors for the day making sure we stayed on schedule. The time spent planning with him helped us to not worry about a single detail on our wedding day. Now, even years later people who attended our wedding still talk about "how fun the dance was" and how they "never danced so much at a wedding" in their life. Ted kept the pace on the dance floor flowing so people stayed and danced. I loved his style and have no complaints about the work he does. He was fabulous, easy to work with and thoughtful in the work he does. We would highly recommend Ted to DJ other weddings or events and look forward to attending a friends wedding this coming year where he will be the DJ! read more
