Ive personally had to call the police several times due to burglaries and trespassers. I used to rent a space there twice but both times they raise the rent buy 50% after the first 3 to 6 months and then 100% rise in rent within the first year. They refuse to work with you about the rates and constantly harass you if rent is late. They charge extra for everything, including breaking your own lock and charging you to put their lock. Then after you pay, they keep you locked out your own unit and fail to grant gate access. THEY DO NOT HAVE SECURITY CAMERAS IN THE FACILITY. police are constantly called by people like me and other neighbors.a few months ago they shot someone in one of the units. People would break into my apartment complex to gain access of the storage unit. Their solution? They put metal sheets covering only half the fence. Also they have serious pest issue with wildlife living in the premises. Many raccoons, skunks, and possums with create a high risk for rabies to the nieghbors domestic pets. The very worst place to store your possessions. They are crooks that allows crooks into their facility negligent at best.

However, they gradually increase the rent for the same unit, which is a blatant scam. They also claim that the unit's price will increase in 30 days, but a few days later, they charge the new price that was supposed to be implemented 30 days later. The company is incredibly unprofessional and unresponsive, especially the management. I've visited their office three times to address these issues, and they promise that Yolanda Pena will contact me. She never does. I've also called their number and spoken to the call center, who assures me that the property manager will contact me. Yet, she never does either. Overall, US Storage Centers is a terrible company that shows no regard for its customers, rent elsewhere.

I was often told that local staff could not see or control these changes and that adjustments required approval from corporate. I was also billed monthly for a "Protection Plan" despite providing proof of my own insurance, and only received a partial credit after raising the issue again. In addition, a small recurring charity charge appeared on my bill that I did not knowingly opt into. When a card on file expired, my account was assessed a substantial late fee before any notice was sent, despite the company having my email and phone number for other communications. While the fee was eventually reduced, it required additional effort. They should have notified me before applying the late fee and allow me to update my new card info. I ultimately moved to a competitor and have had a much smoother experience (proactive communication, locked in rates for a duration, etc.). I recommend closely reviewing your monthly statements and being prepared for rate increases well above anything inflationary or covid related. I'd rather they simply post higher rates up front vs what felt like bait and switch. It was exhausting working with this company. The on-site staff I interacted with were polite and professional, though decisions appeared to come from corporate.

They even sent you your storage number by email. We had to stop at the office and they explained everything to us. It was soo easy. When we walked inside, we had a little baggie with instructions, and our lock. So, we canceled the pricey one and saved some $$ by getting a climate control one. Eventhough I am not storing documents in here... the other one was full of insects, spiders, and other yucky little creatures. This one will be cleaner than the other one...Sweet!!!
