The…read morereceptionist (NOT THE ONE IN THE PICTURES - middle aged, Caucasian, brown blonde hair) is disrespectful and demeaning to clients. When I had booked my and my husbands first appointments I asked if they would provide an ESTIMATE of the out of pocket cost (after insurance coverage) and she said yes. On the day of the appointment she ridiculed me in front of her colleague (the younger receptionist you see in the photo's) and another client waiting in the waiting room. Saying "I can't tell you what you will pay, don't you know anything about your own insurance?" I explained she told me over the phone that they could provide an estimate - she knew it was her. The hygienist - Angie/Anita (or something close to that) was absolutely wonderful. She calmed my nerves and listened to my concerns and was very gentle during the cleaning. I found Dr. Norman Wong to be the opposite. He didn't listen to my concerns and was only interested in covering up his poor chair-side manner with stupid jokes. I asked him what we could do about the discoloration on the front right tooth (I had a filling in that tooth many years ago and it was becoming dark). He said all he could do was polish the tooth but that was all. I thought that was a bit strange, but since he said that was my only option I agreed to do it.I also had a chip on the front left tooth and was told the only thing we could do was to fill the bottom in and I agreed to that, made an appointment to get both done. He didn't go into much detail about either option. All he did was literally buff the surface of the tooth that was turning brown - the tooth was now shiny, but still discolored. I was pretty mad at myself for allowing this guy to talk me into such a stupid "solution" and paying for that! The filling chipped/ broke off within 10 days. 6 months or so later I had the next cleaning, I had the same hygienist. She asked me about the issues we'd discussed the first time and I told her that I was not happy about the options and service provided by Dr. Wong. She told me that he could re-do the filling so the dark filling would be removed and re-filled, resulting in a white (tooth like) appearance again. I wasn't happy that Dr. Wong did not give me this option the first time. When Dr. Wong came in to follow up as they always do, I asked what we could do about the discoloration and mentioned that the previous time he stated that polishing was the only thing to do. He seemed very annoyed at my asking and being unhappy with the polishing. He said well the only thing that can be done is to re-do the filling - with a very short, irritated attitude. To which I stated well then let's do it - in kind. For the rest of the consultation he spoke to the hygienist, didn't ask if I have any questions (which I did have) and just walked out without even greeting me... Angie/Anita walked me out and handed a sticky note to the male female receptionist, who was busy and didn't notice. I went to the male receptionist who printed our invoices and settled the bill. I told him I have to make an appointment and the other receptionist had the sticky note, but I would need to check my schedule and get back to them. He was professional and kind. I told my husband what happened and he insisted we go back and see if the Dr. could discuss other options (even if we had to wait for a while) like braces, to straighten my teeth because we think problem is that the discolored tooth was skew and positioned in such a way that made discoloration inevitable even if we re-filled the tooth. When we got there I asked the receptionist if she could refer us to an orthodontist, she was alone in front now. She said Dr. Wong is an orthodontist and he would be happy to discuss all my options at my next visit. She implied that I was rude to have left without booking the appointment as discussed with the Dr. I told her I had spoken to her colleague and that I needed to get back to them. We asked to see the Dr. as it would impact the appointment, we'd gladly wait. She said I should've asked all my questions during my appointment, I would need to book another appointment. I told her the Dr. walked out without giving me the opportunity to ask further questions. She said that I had clearly agreed upon a treatment so if I wanted to speak to him I could make an appointment for another day. My husband said we just wanted to make sure what all the options were and explained why we thought there could be more options. I showed her the tooth in question and she started arguing that I had discussed the wrong tooth with the Dr. as the sticky note was for a different tooth and raised her voice at me. I calmly told her there can't be a re-filling on a tooth that doesn't have a filling. Alas, we were were turned away and left without seeing the Dr. I've cancelled my next cleaning - still hurt and disappointed.

I had concerns regarding my wisdom tooth and was seeking a brief consultation with the doctor, but the receptionist was unaccommodating, suggesting I book an appointment instead. Upon calling back to ask a question, I was informed that the doctor recommended I visit a specialist, which was not relevant to my concern about my wisdom tooth. I was extremely disappointed by the receptionist's behavior, which was a stark contrast to the helpful and compassionate service I received the previous day. As a paying patient, I expect a certain level of professionalism and respect. Unfortunately, my experience was subpar, and I would not recommend this dental clinic to anyone in Canada. I have traveled extensively and lived in various places, and this was the most disappointing experience I've had. I called back to address the unprofessional behavior, but my call was not returned. I hope the clinic will take steps to address the discriminatory behavior and provide better service to their patients

Now the previous dentist I had. They did text to communicate when I first signed up just before covid, but, either that employee did it on her own phone. or they stopped using the service they used to use to text me. either way. they would call me for appointments. and miss me as I was at work couldn't take the call. and when I called back it would go to voicemail. and they don't seem to email. so I got a missed call during work. and by the time I remembered about it and called back they were closed. couldn't recall if I had an appointment that weekend or not but I knew I had one in Aug...... decided I needed to find a dentist that texted emailed and actually answered their phones. so. why did I give them 5 stars when they told me it was 1 visit and now I have to come back for another hour of cleaning? the hygienist.... wouldn't budge. she told me it needed more than 1 hour cleaning. and she wasn't willing to sacrifice my teeth to accommodate my demands. she got receptionist in to talk sense in to me. and when that didn't do the trick they then got the dentist in. to talk to me. and finally I just agreed. NOT because they bully me, but because they cared enough to say NO, no we are not squishing 2 hours of much needed dental cleaning into a 1 hour slot. I am happy they cared enough to stand their ground. I really liked her cleaning pace. I didn't feel apprehensive because I could mentally follow along with where she was cleaning. she rocks! dentist was awesome too. came in. made sure I knew what the game plan is. when I come back again. and what we doing to make sure I stay on top of areas. Koodos to the guy who did my X-rays. it's not easy squishing those wings in there at just the right spot. he took his time. and it went well. I felt good I didn't feel nervous. And the receptionist team were amazing I left them figuring out billing for my two insurance there was something iffy about who to bill how much or something. Hahaha. Don't forget to bill me guys I haven't paid lol Thanks guys. See you saturday for my other cleaning session.

I was over charged and it took me weeks and at least ten phone calls to get the refund. as a result I moved on and I suggested that you look elsewhere.

It's normal though. I can have them fixed or just leave them but I have been unintentionally biting on my lower lip because of an overbite and believe me it hurts. My dentist recommended the best orthodontist in Burnaby. Her clinic occupies almost the whole floor of one of the buildings near Metrotown mall. Besides that she was charging me double the amount I'm expecting, I don't feel comfortable in her clinic. It's not very welcoming. It's like an assembly line of dental chairs and dental assistants. Believe me she doesn't need my money. Her clinic is a well-oiled machine! I tried making appointments to other dental offices near my place and I found DLE has the best customer service. I believe that offices/clinics should invest in their receptionists. They're the first and last people the clients interact with. DLE got it right. Lakhbir is very polite, respectful and friendly. She's one of the reasons I chose to have my invisalign with DLE. Another reason is Dr. Dorothy Yung. She is so nice and very accommodating. She and her staff knows what they're doing and I feel very comfortable with them. Dr. Yung was able to work with my budget. The price she gave me was reasonable. Some portion of the fee is covered by my insurance and the remaining balance is affordable. I should also mention that this dental clinic is very clean the way all dental clinics should be. They use modern equipments and did I mention you can watch TV while getting your teeth polished? Yes they have ceiling TV. We have completed all the impressions and pictures required by Invisalign office. We are waiting for their recommends. Once received we will start with invisalign. Depending on the severity of the case, invisalign can take up to 52 weeks. I just hope mine will be shorter.

Most dental offices have TV's in the ceilings...it's not the reason to give a 5 star rating. It was very difficult to communicate with one of the receptionists as her English was very minimal and she was hard to understand. I went here in 2019 and had xrays done using a very painful imaging technique with hard plastic that gives photos directly onto the computer rather than the need for the hygienist to develop the negatives. This is convenient for the dentist but not for the comfort or care of the patient ...the customer. Shouldn't that be priority? I would certainly never bring my child here since the pain this X-ray method causes would scare her away from going to a dentist ever again. I asked the Dr. after he stated that I had no cavities and his very quick examination, was he certain because I could feel pain in areas and also could see small brown nicks at the gum line indicating to me a cavity or the start of one. Due to health issues I have and told him about, if he were thorough he would have found these problem areas that I now found out about. He might have recommended some preventative procedures for my bottom teeth that are showing signs of wear and a filler could protect them and ease some of my pain. After 2 weeks I went to back to my previous dentist where I had lived 2 years ago. I made the appointment for X-rays and a second opinion as I didn't feel confident about the diagnoses from this dentist at DLE. From the new xrays (completely pain-free) my old dentist determined that I had the start of a cavity on the upper incisor and a filling was advised to prevent it from getting worse. In July I had the filling and two teeth next to the cavity filled as they were also in question. He showed me the teeth prior to filling them in the mirror pointing out two areas of the tooth that had cracks and recommended a crown be placed over it to prevent further damage or even losing the whole tooth. I agreed and made an appointment to have this completed. I do not feel I received great care at DLE for treatment or preventative recommendations. I will not be returning and suggest that anyone take caution about going here for dental care.

About 3 months into their plan I started to develop severe issues with my bite that wouldn't allow me to properly close my mouth. I looked at the 3d modeling of the plan and realized that the intended end result would have it so only my front teeth even touch. This was their approved plan, checked and sent with the assurance that my teeth will be straightened appropriately. I sent my concerns to them and their own orthodontist suggested I quit using their services. Despite this I was told to provide more evidence and only offered a 40% refund. Regardless of the amount, they demanded I sign an NDA to not share my misfortune with their service. I declined this insult of a payment and feel fortunate that I can warn others. I'm only out the cost of treatment, but many have completely lost their teeth due to damage from receding gums. Stay away at all costs. Save up for orthodontic led corrections. Don't let these scammers take your money.
