Walking in I immediately fell in love. The soothing fountain, wooden elephant chair and massive wall lined with tea were the first things to catch my eye. They have lots of cool things for sale from tea sets, to pillows, to singing bowls, ginger chews and other tea merchandise. We ordered a peach rooibos tea and took a seat upstairs. You get a view of the whole shop from up there which I simply love. The two people working were both very nice and happy to answer our questions. The tea was lovely as well. This is one of my new favourite spots I think. I definitely plan on going back.

I popped in today on a lovely walk through Granville Street and was taken with all of the lovely goods for purchase. There are hundreds of loose teas, dozens of tea sets in every shape, color and design, as well as candles and incense. They even have Buddhist wares available and a few different areas around the shop to sit and enjoy the calming space. The owner was very kind and the whole experience left me feeling simply wonderful. Sawadee is a great place for gift shopping and acquiring every kind of tea under the sun.

It's seeming more corporate like price wise and not as homey as it used to be- I still enjoy a good tea room but doubt I'd be running here unfortunately based on the prices as before i remember getting 2 scones + tea and the jam/ cream for 7.95$ now it's one scone etc- i understand prices absolutely but I also enjoyed it when everything was home made including the old cute menu - maybe it still is it's been awhile so I'll check out again

I came here for lunch with my mom and sister and was pleasantly surprised. The place is quite small and we were lucky to get a table. Most of the other patrons were 60+ so it's a great place to take mom or nana. The decor is rustic, much like you would expect for a tea room on a farm. Mom ordered the quiche, which was lovely and my sister ordered the homemade beans which she'd had on a previous visit and was opting for again, being that they were so good. The beans came with a home made tea biscuit which was impressive. These can be a tough one to master! I had a roast beef sandwhich that was good, but I would have preferred to have had one of the other delicious looking meals at the table. Service was good, they were very busy and possibly a little understaffed, but food came out at a good pace. There is a selection of home made desserts as well that looked really yummy. Apparently there is tea served at 2 each afternoon. There is a cute little gift shop inside as well with a bunch of fun little items to browse. A little gem in Cole Harbour!

I think they must have been in the process of replacing the sign when I visited because there was no signage. I got the Mango "Cold Fried" yogurt ($8.45) and it was great. They pour liquid yogurt on this cold metal plate and the yogurt freezes and they break it up into pieces and put it in a cup. I initially wanted the Strawberry one, but they said they ran out of it, so I got the Mango one instead. The mango one had chunks of mango in it, as well as raisins. The texture was cool. It's a bit chewier than regular frozen yogurt, if that makes sense. It tastes like the ice cream that's made using liquid nitrogen. I really liked it, but I can see how some people may prefer traditional frozen yogurt. It took a while for them to make it because they had to wait for the machine to get cold enough. The wait was worth it though. Service was courteous. However, I think they raised the prices from what's on the menu board or they over charged me because I was charged over $10 (after taxes, before tip) for it. I'm from Ontario, so I just assumed that taxes in Nova Scotia were super high, but I later discovered Nova Scotia taxes are 15% so that wouldn't have brought the price to over $10. Anyway, it's something that I noticed, but seems to happen at a lot of places these days, not just in Nova Scotia, but also back home in Ontario. It's a bit pricey, although the portion is quite large. Good for a sometimes treat ;)

I had initially wanted to get it without added sugar but I was advised that the sugar level of this drink was fixed. Fortunately, I didn't find it too sweet at all. The mashed taro is sweetened and the brown sugar tapioca pearls are sweet, but I don't think they added additional sugar to the milk, so I was a happy camper. The taro is warm, but even with the less ice I ordered, after I mixed up the drink it was sufficiently cold. Service was neutral, but efficient. The lone staff member seemed really disinterested in serving customers. I got my drink rather quickly. Although I noted I was the only customer in the store, lol. White Alley Bubble Tea is the only non-chain bubble tea that was within walking distance from our hotel room, so I really wanted to try it and I'm glad I did. I wasn't like blown away by my drink or anything, but I was happy. Decor is pretty minimalist but they have a few tables and chairs if you want to hang out. (188)
